Is there any way or chance that our super-phone's can gain the Oxygen Rom?
I know a rom was released for the S II International, but I really wish one was created for our S IIs (T-Mobile/AT&T).
Back in my HD2 Android days, I found out that someone was able to port Oxygen to the HD2 from a HTC Desire release.
Can it be done?

Darkstone1337 was using Adam G's Oxygen for a base on some of his projects for the HD2. The Oxygen series is based of AOSP, so I would say its possible but we still need additional drivers for it to work. The reason the Desire was so easy to port to the HD2 is they have almost identical hardware, hence drivers.
Cyanogen is based of AOSP as well and hasn't come out of alpha stage because of needed drivers.

hi!!!!
i just wondering if someone could make a rom on the android gingerbread 2.3 with the desire hd sens ui, could be great!!!
maybe "RC TEAM" or "NEOPHYTE"
Not possible...
Sent from humanity's last hope.
why?? if htc make an update to the HTC DESIRE HD with 2.3 android, will they not keep their new sens ui ?
You answer your one question. The only one that can make a 2.3 rom with sense is HTC. As long as there is no leaked or released rom from HTC it's not gone happen.

I disagree, this is a developers forum. It's only a matter of time before before we will see a release
simonthor was just being sarcastic, because these question get asked a lot of times...
Sense isn't written to go with 2.3 so it will not appear until HTC have re-written Sense to work with Android 2.3
Simple as that

unlike AOSP, htc sense is CLOSED source.. they are only required to release their kernel source
so if there was someone gutsy enough to port it... they would have to reverse engineer the drivers from scratch

Not necessarily - We had Froyo with Sense before HTC released their kernel sources, and official Froyo RUU's with Sense.
please tell me what is cyanogen?
i can make my desire hd bricked? and lost my quarantee ?
what the different cyanogen with htc stock sense?
Cyanogenmod is modified to AOSP (Android Open Source Project.) It's the plain version of android which you get on devices like the nexus. It's nice but not as flashy as sense. It is a little faster though.
Only one way to know if it's for you ...
Someone swyped my idea.
Hi everyone,
Last week my dad bought my brother a Samsung Galaxy S phone, and I installed a custom ROM on it with one of the latest android versions.
The ROM looks really impressive and the Hebrew support is way better than it is on my own phone.
I have the 'classic' HTC Desire (not HD, Z or whatnot), with one of the early ROMs released (from Modoco if I remember right - I actually got the phone before a root for it was pubicly available).
I'm looking for a recommendation for a custom ROM to install. I really want proper Hebrew/RTL support in it, hopefully the gingerbread Hebrew keyboard which seems awesome, and since I've grown accustomed to the HTC Sense UI, I'd love to keep that as well.
What would you guys suggest?
There aren't many custom roms with Gingerbread in combination with HTC Sense if I am right. I know there is a custom gingerbread rom leaked with HTC sense a few days ago so that could be very good for us.
I really like Oxygen because it's really clean without software I don't need.

True, so far I havent find any real HTC Gingerbread rom, and those I did, were just filled with dodgy 'senselike' widgets, which is not the same... so I am still patiently waiting for 2.3 with sense
You could always have a look at the ported Z/HD roms for Desire, some of them are very nice. I am currently using RCMixHD 3.4 and I enjoy it a lot. It is basically an incremental update to sense with a few added optimizations.
Thanks for the replies.
AFAIK, the gingerbread keyboard can be ported to android 2.2.
The ROM I installed on my brother's phone was android 2.2.1 but had the gingerbread keyboard.
In regard to the HD ROMs, those can be installed on the regular Desire device?
The HD roms are quite feature rich as compared to Desire roms
I have just sold my galaxy s2 and while I decide what to get next I dug out my old HTC desire. I want to give it and update it's running 2.2 at the moment.
It's the first time I've done this sort of thing so whats the best/easist rom to update it with and how do I do it.
Or if those two are a step to far, what stable rom would be a good replacement????
Hi,
Is it already rooted? s-off?
If not then you need to check out this thread for complete guide on how to root/s-off/flash custom ROM on the HTC Desire.
Once you do that you can click the link in my signature below to check the ROM Index for HTC Desire.
There are ROMs based on OS versions and also sense/non-sense/miui ROMs etc.
Most of the JB & ICS ROMs are still in development and probably not advisable for daily use.
Most of the GB ROMs are not being developed any more, but are probably far more stable.
For a GB ROM I would recommend MildWild based on Oxygen which was only recently updated.

Idk let's wait and see...
Sent from my Desire S using XDA Free mobile app
hardware requirements
well, it seems Android 5 requires less ram to operate than previous versions of Android(Sandwich-Kitkat).......our Desire has 0.5GB Ram, which should be more than enough for new OS(Android 5).
cheers
My first Android phone was HTC Desire white edition with Amoled screen and i love it . Now im using HTC One but if someone do a Rom for the Desire to have android L i will be sooooo happy
I also hope that somebody might port a Lollipop ROM to HTC Desire or develop their own ROM.
Background:
I have an old Tablet (TF101) which is now over 3.5 years old and was shipped with Honeycomb 3.0. It sucked! So I rooted the device, installed custom roms etc. Today I am running Lollipop KatKiss #14b, and it is amazing what an such old device can deliver based on performance. I touch on an app in the launcher and the app appears nearly immediately - wow! Previous ROMs (4.4.4, 4.3, 4.2.x, 4.1.2,...) are much slower. I love ART and would love this feature on the HTC Desire as well. Also, F2FS seems f*cking interessting (up to twice the speed compared to ext4). An HTC Custom ROM with F2FS and ART support based on Android Lollipop 5.0 (incl. a Apps2SD solution) would be absolutly great, am I right?
