Did you go to advanced in clockwork and clear the dalvik cache?

sure did
this is how it all went down exactly
from miui rebooted into recovery
used calks wipe all 2 times
flashed xplod .05 or whatever it is with a 5
after boot animation black screen, but the screen is on
hold power, reboot, hold vol up and power
booted into rogue recovery, so rogue flashed
wiped everything from the wipe menu: factory restore, cache, dalvik, calks wipe all again just in case
reboot, same deal with black screen after boot animation
reboot into recovery wipe everything flash blazer
stuck at sgs2 screen
reboot into recovery, restore backup
MIUI is back up and running

Make sure you format the system and data before you flash touchwiz or aosp. I usually go to the mounts and storage, and format system, data, and cache. Also, are the roms your trying to install modified in any way?

Wiped Dalvik Cache, Now stuck in boot

Can anyone help me?
I am running SkyRaider 3.1 with the Hydra SSUV kernel.
I ran ClockworkMod through Rom Manager, selected wipe cache, then wiped dalvik cache and the phone is now stuck in the boot sequence at the Droid eye screen. It's now been about 20 minutes, so I assume it has had enough time to rebuild itself.
Any ideas? I have a nandroid backup from a few days ago, but I would like to avoid doing that.

It should have completed by now, I hate to say pull the battery.... but if you are really stuck.
go back to recovery wipe Dalvik and Cache Partition, try booting again, it will take quite a bit of time to reboot this time.
If that does not work use your nandroid backup.
BTW always nandroid before making any changes to your phone that way you lose nothing, even if you think they are quick, easy or minor. Hardware has a way of keeping us humble.
Thanks for the recommendation. I had pulled the battery and figured I would try booting to recovery and wiping the cache again to see what happened. Did that and booted in a minute.
Currently doing a new Nandroid backup...

Evo stuck on boot animation screen - CM7

I just flashed a fresh cm7 rc4, along with gapps, and zendroid kernel (avs i think i'm not sure which one).
Things were working great. I was using the phone, had just installed widget locker, and then tried to plug my phone into the computer.
Thats when the trouble started. For some reason, usb debugging worked, even the wireless tether worked, but I could not get the sd card to be on the computer, the option just never came up.
To fix the problem, I tried resetting the phone, but when I did so the phone became stufk on the cm7 boot animation for a few hours. What do I do?
I would just do a fresh install, but this is actually the third time that I have gotten stuck on the bootloading screen with cm7, so I just need to find a solution. Please help.

Really need some help with this, guys...need my phone back
You're not alone. I installed GApps along with CM7. Stuck in Boot animation. My wife is pissed.
You posted in the wrong section. I will transfer this over to the EVO Q&A area.
I am assuming that you have your EVO rooted. If you are stuck in a bootloop, simply pull your battery, put it back in and press the power button while holding Vol Down. This will make you go into bootloader. From there, simply go into recovery, wipe everything, and reflash the rom. I have done CM7 and gapps and have no issue.

I did that, many times. One time, it just worked. Didn't do anything different as far as I know, but kind of makes me unsure about future flashes etc.
Pull your battery out, wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache in recovery. Flash ONLY CM7 and the google apps. I think the kernel might be the problem for the bootloop.

I never wipe any of those things seperately, I just use calkulin's format all. That couldn't be the source of any problems right?? I mean, I always believed that that was the best way.
Thanks. I ended up doing that. All is better now.
Sent from my rooted Thunderbolt with VirusROM AirborneTB. Xda premium
My problem was installing both at the same time.

I've used Caulkin's format all twice, and both times, I got stuck in the white screen boot loop and had to reflash Amon Ra, just to get back to recovery and flash one of my nandroids.
Wiping everything in recovery works perfectly fine for me.
I use Calk's format all at least a few times a week, sometimes a couple times a day. Always works fine.
Did you wipe?
Did you wipe the data/cache from the handset? if not do so through clockwork

[Q] [HELP] Borked up phone!

Ouch. Been running various ROMs and various kernels. Had a ROM installed with imosyons exp2 kernel and touch recovery. Was trying out 1.42GHz. All of a sudden phone spontaneously rebooted. Hung repeatedly on Google screen. OK, no problem. Will wipe cache and dalvik cache and reinstall kernel. Hung on the dalvik cache wipe. OK, will skip the wipe and just load kernel. Opps, hung looking for .zip files. Opps, will reload recovery. Still hanging everywhere.
Used Galaxy Toolkit to reload stock images. It did do 1 bootloop, but then acted normally.
Reloaded everything. Left 1.42 alone! Worked all day and then I installed ROM Manager to make a nandroid backup. It wanted to install CWR so I let it. Upon a reboot it went into bootloops. Now I cannot do a factory restore (all my data is there upon a reboot). Tried the ODIN solution but it's still not clearing data. Apparently no PIT available to reparition? Shoot, what do I do!

Roms arent being flashed

So, im having a problem now. I used boot manager then i installed a cm7 nightly, i restarted and went back to deck ics 5, then everything was fine so i rebooted. it was looping. so i wiped everything and i just decided to install deck ics 6 and it reboots and goes to the recovery, Im stuck and I need some help, after the flash and it goes to recovery, i checked the usb mode toggle and theres nothing there, so im guessing its not installing at all
Just do it the normal way. Wipe everything in recovery (With Amon Ra) as has been detailed a billion times on here, then flash the ROM you want
^ Yeah I agree with that person. I was using CWM until yesterday when it wasn't wiping the Dalvik cache properly. I now use the alternative that he said, use it lol

Stuck on Bootanimation

Installed gederom, kept wiping, caches, dalviks, flash, reboot, always go past TWRP and into that boot animation - robot with CM9 near it.
Never goes past this point.
What am I to do?
Factory Reset flash the ROM again followed by gapps. should be fine then
yeah wipe all just dont wipe your sd card flash rom flash gaps if needed and go to mount and make sure there are no checks in the boxes of system and data if so uncheck them then reboot
