Ouch. Been running various ROMs and various kernels. Had a ROM installed with imosyons exp2 kernel and touch recovery. Was trying out 1.42GHz. All of a sudden phone spontaneously rebooted. Hung repeatedly on Google screen. OK, no problem. Will wipe cache and dalvik cache and reinstall kernel. Hung on the dalvik cache wipe. OK, will skip the wipe and just load kernel. Opps, hung looking for .zip files. Opps, will reload recovery. Still hanging everywhere.
Used Galaxy Toolkit to reload stock images. It did do 1 bootloop, but then acted normally.
Reloaded everything. Left 1.42 alone! Worked all day and then I installed ROM Manager to make a nandroid backup. It wanted to install CWR so I let it. Upon a reboot it went into bootloops. Now I cannot do a factory restore (all my data is there upon a reboot). Tried the ODIN solution but it's still not clearing data. Apparently no PIT available to reparition? Shoot, what do I do!

So I downloaded Skyraider 3 thru ROM Manager, did a backup and fill wipe, when it reboots, the CM6 splash is stuck in a loop.
So I rebooted back to recovery, did a manual full wipe, and installed the SR3 .zip from the menu, and STILL CM6 boot loop.
Maybe related to the problem is that I also can't get the droid2 keyboard mod to "stick" I'll install it and it works until I reboot -- then I'm back to the android keyboard with FC's every other word.
Help!

What all did you wipe? Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik?
From Clockwork recovery, "wipe data/factory reset" which does system/data/cache/sd-ext.
Update: I'm redownloading the SR3 mod -- there might have been an issue with the zip file. (this still wouldn't explain the keyboard reverting on reboot though)
I know it sounds redundant but I've found issue when I don't wipe cache seperately. You also need to go into advanced and wipe Dalvik cache.

I'm either an idiot (likely) or the .zip I was flashing was corrupt.
Either way, this idiot is up and running.
What I did:
Flashed new rom (it loaded up no problem)
Rebooted into recovery
Did a Darkside cache wipe
Installed Gapps
Phone wouldnt boot...
Booted into recovery... attempted to Darskide Superwipe (to clear everything and try installing again)
Phone hangs on the wipe and doesnt finish... have to pull battery
Tried just doing a system wipe from the CWM menu..... phone hangs and doesnt finish....
Panicked... Tried restoring a nandroid I had....... restore seems to be working until it gets to "Restoring Cache..." Then it hangs and nothing happens.... sitting at this screen afraid to do a battery pull.....
Please HELP... what the hell did I do
****************UPDATE: Seem to have fixed the issue... Grabbed a flashable zip of CWM.... reinstalled CWM... Rebooted recovery... Am now able to flash superwipe and roms etc. Thank god. Seems to be working fine now
What recovery are you using? If you're using CWM 6xxx, you don't, and shouldn't, need to use the Darkside wipes! You only need to use that if you are on CWM 5.xxx, using it on a higher version causes issues, mainly with people who don't know proper manual wipe procedures.
Solution, change your recovery, do all your wipes, flash rom and reboot.
Edit, are you trying to use Cyanogen Mod?
Have flashed many a ROM on both Fascinate, DesireHD and now GSG3. On the GSG3 have a constant problem. Whenever I flash a TW Rom I get constant bootloops. Every once in a while one will stick. But when I go to restart the bootloops start. No problems with CM or MIUI Roms. Always do Clear Cache, Wipe Data, Clear Dalvik Cache. Have even tried Format Data, System and Cache. Just tried Mobile Odin with the root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.7z tar. Everything went smooth until boot. Get to ATT splash then it starts looping. Can restore to a Nandroid backup. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
After Odin flash, boot into recovery and do a factory reset
Seems to be working right now, thanks. Took a good 15 minutes to get to the install screen. Restarted many times until it "locked" in. Will let it run for 24 hrs before I give it the test and reboot. Again thanks for the help.
I rooted my phone, downloaded the jedi mind trick rom and attempted to flash it. I deleted and format my phone in CWM and i installed the rom from an internal sdcard. Now it keeps resetting and wont turn on. What should I do now?
Have you tried jamison's cache wipe?

Im downloading the stock telus rom in an attempt just to start from the beginning. When I flash it I'll get back to you. I was rushing when I rooted it the first time I guess.
Okay so I've done that and have rooted it using the s2 toolkit. what steps should I take to ensure the jedi mind trick rom can be successfully flashed?
Okay I tried reflashing it again... Didn't work, I have the same problem. I did the factory settings, and wiped the cache and flashed the rom. I then went into advanced and cleared the Devac (sp) cache and fixed permissions. I rebooted and it didn't work. It starts, gets to about the loading circle graphic and just resets
I used Darkside super wipe and it worked for me...
ive done it like this.
flashed original stock rom via odin
Root via S2 toolkit
flash cmw with toolkit as above
and flash custom rom via s2 toolkit
and after that used darkside superwipe
thanks for the tip, I tried the darkside wipe but it still is happening.
I have the same exact thing. But for me it's different. It started with the PACman 22.0.1. Whenever I press the power button to turn on/off the screen, it would restart a couple of seconds later being stuck in an infinite reboot loop. Can't get into recovery mode (used TWRP 2.3.3.1 and 2.5). I somehow managed to revert back to stock which worked properly. Rooted and installed PACman 22.1.1 ROM and it's still stuck on a reboot loop.
I don't know if it's a hardware problem (wiring off power button to the circuit is damaged) or a software code that messed up the machine code in the circuit.
i had the same when i installed wrong kernel and radio...try it like this..instal stock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359
and then try cwm recovery version from the s2 toolkit (try non touch ver.)
and then try flashing
try doing a factory reset, wipe cache and install rom. don't wipe cache or anything after that until after it boots. btw don't use cwm wipe cache, try the one that is stickied in development forum.
Hi all, hoping this is a stupidly simple fix. I wanted to update to latest stable CM7 and so downloaded and flashed it from CWRecovery,
I also ran the factory reset, and cleared the cache.
When I boot, it shows the blue loading screen, then comes to the "Welcome to ADR6300" and reverts to the CyanogenMod7 loading screen..
Then, it keeps bouncing back and forth between these two screens until I pull the battery...
You didn't mention the order of what you did. Assuming you have no valuable data, I would just start over.
Reboot into recovery
Wipe system
Factory reset
Flash ROM
Flash GAPPs (if desired)
Reboot into ROM
Also, ensure you're on the latest CWM, first.

Worked perfectly! Thank you!!
Apparently the problem was having the wrong version of GAPPs. I was reinstalling but Wiping system was the step I had skipped!
