Sensor does not work after downgrade - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sensor does not work after downgrade from Android 2.2.1 Froyo to Android 2.1 Éclair. I have followed this article:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035
Everything was ok until i folllowed step 2
Step 2 - Downgrading from Android 2.2.1 Froyo to Android 2.1 Éclair
Download the RUU rom (here) which is an original stock rom. Plug your phone into the PC and set it to "Charge through USB". Double click RUU rom .exe
Follow the on screen instructions and then let it install. Your phone will reboot into stock HTC 2.1
This will be the last time you will be seeing it though.

sensor? what for?
try a different RUU from
http://androidforums.com/htc-wildfire/243757-htc-wildfire-stock-roms-downloads-1-14-2-2-a.html
i used RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_C_Radio_13.45.55.24_ 3.35.15.19_release_141106_signed

If by sensor you mean the touchscreen, then you should do what arkoze said and try a different RUU.

download the RUU i have stated above. this 100% works. it downgrades to android version 1.14 or something so realy basic, but it defo works

It works? Tested?
And so do I use that RUU? Or the .zips listed below?
I need help! I made a goldcard using this guide (http://www.roothtchero.co.uk/goldcard-2), ran the "RUU_Bravo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.19.707.7_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126179_signed.exe" RUU as administrator, and followed the instructions. But halfway through I got this error:

your bootloader version is wrong.
look for the correct version of the RUU
Okay, my bootloader version is 0.80 so I downloaded the RUU for that (RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed) but I get another error:

We all have that problem at the moment
But my friend has gotten it? And I thought it is supposed to be released this couple days?
since when singapore is getting it first?
it's suppose to be released in europe this weekend.
If I'm on the RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2 ROM I won't get the Singapore FroYo ROM right? But I can't flash the RUU_Bravo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.19.707.7 one, it says wrong bootloader version. LOL.
Update now available! (According to http://htc-desire-get-froyo.u4y.eu/)
You do realise if you update to the "Official Froyo from HTC" you may NEVER be able to root your phone again don't you?

Won't unrevoked's rooting program work?
No, because, if going by the leaked Froyo / Sense roms, these come with a new HBOOT version, which at this time, cannot be rooted by any current methods.
I suggest keeping your phone rooted as it is, and when the official OTA arrives, wait for a dev to have a look at it, removes the HBOOT and roots the ROM.

On that note.
I used to have a Windows Phone (Touch HD) and loved Miri's ROMs as he used all the latest versions of the OS and stock software, with no added extras such as apps/graphics. Is there a ROM developer like that on the Android side?
One thing I dont want is my phone to end up unrootable and be versions behind on the OS because HTC have abandoned us
You can try DeFroST or OpenDesire. They are two of the most popular ROMs around. I was on DeFroST and all was well till 2.5a (didn't like the new notification LED's colors) so I am gonna try OpenDesire now.

unrevoked doesn't root a ROM (does it?), it just helps you apply an already rooted ROM.
Someone will need to root the ROM first.

Unrooting without Goldcard for Branded Desire

Ive checked some forums and this is the part that confuses me;
I dont have a goldcard but I want to install the official Tmobile RUU for my Tmobile Branded desire, apparently you only need a goldcard for installing other RUUs other than the original, is this true? Will I need a goldcard to install the original Tmobile RUU?
You won't, but you can't install it if you have an SLCD screen.

If you've upgraded to a higher version you'll need to downgrade first mind you (link in signature).

Do you mean downgrading after officially updating to Froyo 2.2 via network OTA? I havent upgraded to 2.2 officially just running custom 2.2 from rooted 2.1 so I assume I can just run the RUU?
I meant if you've upgraded to anything higher (even a 2.1 release). If you've never run an RUU or applied an OTA upgrade you'll be fine.
find below guide for creating goldcard with another htc phone

Heres the questions,
Will i need to downgrade to 1.32 in order to use the 2.3 ruu's available on the forums
or
Can i simply use the available ruu to upgrade my phone to 2.3 with out having to downgrade first?
Any help would be great.
ps. I have not recieved the 2.3 ota yet. have checked every day through the settings, have also done the whole manual check in as well *#*#2432546#*#*

hi boy!!!
I estimate that you have specifically android 2.2.1...right?
i hope that your software version is adapted for your carrier.... and is not a WEE ruu... its normal... my DHD by default was been 1.33
u can try via htc sync and click in upgrade button and pray for it to work....
i know that some people was update succesfully his DHD with it...
or try to do it with the XDA style, lol.....(because for downgrade it directly from a official ru downloaded it´s impossible)
1-downgrading...(necessary)
2-rooting...(necessary)
3-install rom manager & CWM recovery (necessary)
4-eng-soff
5-radio s-off
6-cid-111111 (super-cid)
here there is information about it:

feel free to post your doubts here mate,,,

[Q] Root from 1.82 > 1.34 > Gingerbread and some other questions

Hi to all
Yesterday i decided to root my Desire Z that was in this situation:
Android
2.2.1
Base band (radio)
12.28e.60.140.fU_26.04.02.17_M2
Sw
1.82.405.1
Click to collapse
To root it, i followed the wiki guide. This guide suggested me to do a downgrade following this thread untill step 12 but i've followed all than i came back to root guide and i completed that.
At the end of the procedure i've the Clockwork recovery ROM.
At reboot i also received the official OTA upgrade from 1.34 to 1.72 but the installation fails (a warning white triangle with an orange exclaimation mark with an android appears) and after pressing power+vol- i can see the a message like this: unable to find mount volume from SDCARD(...)HTC_OTA(...).
I lost all my datas and applications (was wrote, but i've not seen the warning).
Discouraged from the official OTA update failures, i've tried the 2.3 ROM found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1012763. I installed it through recovery and now my Vision is in this situation:
Android
2.3.3
Base band (radio)
12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Sw
2.30.405.1
Click to collapse
As you can see the actual radio version is lower than the original one but why? The 2.3 based rom i've installed comes from a RUU that has a radio 12.5 0.60.24_26.08.04.16_M that is an higher version of both my original and my actual
Here's my question:
Why the official updates fails? (triangle with !)
Why the 2.3 rom doesn't overwrite the radio with the one it comes with?
Can i flash its own radio now?
Last but not least, can i come back to my previous situation (stock 1.82 with stock radio) so i can backup something? I've some part(7|17|18|21)backup-datetime.img files...
Sorry but i'm a noob and thank you for answers in advance...

[Q] HTC Desire 2.3.3(Ginge) Downgrade to 2.2 Foyo?

G'day peeps,
I really didnt want to post this. Ive scoured for hours and hours though and although Ive found lots of downgrade threads from Gingerbread to Froyo the reported Radio version is always different to mine. As is the software version.
So heres my predicament. I (stooopidly) upgraded to Gingerbread but want root access!
The only way I can see me being able to get root access is if a downgrade is possible?
Here's my phone report
HTC Desire (NOT HD)
Android Version 2.3.3
Baseband Version 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
Build Number 3.14.405.1 CL96875 release-keys
Software Number 3.14.405.1
I believe my Hboot to be 1.06 or something.
Do I have any chance at all? And if so where can I find some destructions?
Thanks guys
http://revolutionary.io
You can root gingerbread, go to revolutionary.io
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks guys. I had actually bookmarked http://revolutionary.io as a possible.
Im very pleased, now I have performed an entire backup and flashed cyanogenmod v7 (stable)
Runs like a dream and vrey customisable too
Now Ive a few more questions?
I am interested in trying out a few more roms to find the "one" I think I could be happy with for a while.
Heres are the roms Im interested in:
Virtuous Unity v2.35.0
Uncommon Sense
Sense-o-Villain
and very interested in TwoPointTwo
However, Warm for example states I need to download radio/wiimax updates.
Other roms have similiar requirements. Like a CM7 Hboot rev2 etc.
I've tried to work our if its safe or not for me to instll any of these and as far as I can tell it isnt.
Thanks again for all the help
Unable to downgrade
I tried all methods of downgrading but there is no success. But I have successfully rooted my HTC Desire running 2.3.3 with revolutionary.io method + CWD + su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.
Is there anyone in this world downgraded Gingerbread to Froyo?? I also have the same radio version 5.17.05.23 , but whenever I try to downgrade it says "main version is older update failed".

what is the ruu that u used?
if u want a froyo rom, just flash a rom from the recovery
if u want go back to stock froyo (why u should do this? u need warranty?) then fastboot flash the bravo downgrader hboot from alpharev.nl then the froyo ruu
Teppic74's downgrader used to downgrade 2.2 to 2.1 regardless of Hboot. The only thing it needed was temp root which it did for you.
Obviously the exploit used to root Froyo no longer works in GB, but if it already has root, it may work.
Heres the thread.
Although there is some question about erase size 40,000 devices so I would keep an eye on this thread for information purposes rather than jum, ping in and breaking things

its reported to work millions of time..the bravo downgrader is a 0.93 hboot..and the last froyo ruu has the same hboot version...
anyway when u have s-off, with fastboot u can flash every hboot u wish (its not like the ruu, there is no check in fastboot flash command)
I tried that myself and it failed due wrong bootloader version.

mean u can't fastboot flash an older hboot over a new one? which were ur hboots?
the bravo downgrader hboot from alpharev doesn't have a downgrade protection, over that u can run every ruu to overwrite it, thats what aplharev say

all u need to know is here
http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/index.php/HTC_Desire (u can skip the step about installing adb anyway)
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/revolutionary

in summary the steps are:
-uninstall htc synch totally, and install the drivers in the guide above
-download revolutionary tool with the beta key
-run it, plug device, inser key..choice to install the recovery also
thats it..u are s-offed, after that install super user from recovery to have root (in the guide above is described how to)

I had the same problem, the only solution that worked for me was this:
1. do your backups
2. use revolutionary.io to S-OFF and CWM
2. get
Code:

3. run it and let it downgrade the Android to 2.2
4. root using unrevoked 3 (not able to use external links yet, google it up)
Hope it will help
