Hi yall,
I am running MIUI **.9 and tiamat 1.1.5 kernel for the Dinc 2. Both have been installed for over a month or two, and just recently I noticed I won't getting internet away from wifi networks. I have full bars but next to it on the statues bar, there is no 3G or 1X icons and no internet.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Did you check to make sure you had movie data turned on?
tiamat 1.1.5 kernel broke 3g a couple updates ago for MIUI. I would just flash .7 aero bfs kernal. Its the best kernal for MIUI to date.

Cool, I will try to do that.
Can I just install over tiamat or do I have to unistall it some how?

You need to place it on your sdcard, reboot into recovery, wipe cache & davich cache and flash the new kernal. Make sure you do a nandroid backup first though.

All the other kernels are making me get a line in my screen when scrolling. The only one that didn't do that was stock#17, can someone help me fix my kernel problem or least direct me to stock 17. Thanks in advance, I appreciate it.

You do know rls5 is out right?
What did you wipe before you flashed it? I would highly recommend using Calikulin's format all zip
Flash this, and then reflash the ROM. This should help you
Make sure everything is up to date (PRI, PRL, Radio)
Then flash a #15 kernel. That will fix your problem. Netarchy has a couple of good ones out and MS79723 has a really good SBC one out as well.
RLS4 is packaged with an outdated kernel, which when everything is updated causes screen tearing which is what you're experiencing.
Update everything, update kernel and you're good to go.
As an alternative, RLS5 has an updated kernel if you don't wanna go 3rd party with the kernel flashing, so backing up with titanium backup or my backup (both have free versions in the market) and then doing a full wipe and flash will also fix your problem.
Hope this helps.
The only thing wrong with 5 is me updating the radios. I didn't wanna do the full wipe for optimal use. The screen tearing happened on 5 and 4. Any kernal besides stock.

So that format all gives me updated software or what?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
So I decided to just update my PRL and that worked. My phone is not lagging or tearing. I didn't think that would do the trick but it worked. Thanks guys.

i am having MAJOR problems with rls 5 though. i'll see if i can get them sorted out. if not, i'll post. i think caulkin's 1.8 extended data settings messed me up, bcuz now i can only get text messages while in a phone call, and i dont think i am getting 3g.
One reason why I just stuck with 4. My internet was slow AND I had that browser slowness 4 host file flashed..just went back to 4..

wipe everything and flash, use ec05 still ?
wipe everything 3x, flash cm7 then flash google apps zip then reboot ?
I got the best battery life on CM7 Alpha 4. I had it barebone and underclocked to 800mhz. I got around 20 hours on stock battery. Since then I wussied out and bought an extended battery. After that Syndicate seems to be doing better than CM7!
I also got around 17 hours on Bonsai. But I couldn't handle the low memory problem.

I would recommend either viperrom synergy, or syndicate 1.1.1 with Rodderik's Genocide kernel. In combination with juice defender my phone last all day sometimes 30 hours depending on usage.

I recommend Urban Fury. The only issues I have had were my own fault. Viper Synergy is really solid as well

I just moved to cm7 rc 1.. Has to say it's good
Okay my question is that the built I'm on is android 2.3.4 and i see that some nightly builds are on android 2.3.5
I would like to know that which nightly is the most stable
I'm on rc 1 and its quite stable.. I want a less buggy nightly which has good battery life and android 2.3.5
Please help
If no such nightly is thr then plz suggest the most stable and BUG free nightly
I'm new to cm guys

im using the nightly 110814, and i gotta say im very pleased with it, its bugfree as far as i can tell, and battery life is very good! try it!
the thing is our experiences with nightly builds are weird. not all will ne exactly as others say. best way is to make a nandroid back up jist in case and try the nightlys

Any bugs that can bother daily use?

Btw if i wanna move to a nightly from rc1 do i have to wipe the whole data or just wipe the cache and dalvik cache??
Or do i have to flash nordic all over again??
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
No need to wipe data, just wipe cache and dalvik (and battery cache just in case).
Personally i wipe just before and just after flashing the new nightly, even though I'm sure the just after isn't really necessary.
So far, once you are on some cm7 version, you don't need to do anything more before flashing any other (newer or older) version of cm7.

The CM7 nighties of Defy are pretty stable. If you want 2.3.5, go ahead. Flash it. I don't think you'll face any problems.

Yea use superwipe and format everything but sdcard to get rid of any previous ROM remninces. That's the main problem with people flashing different roms.

Is anyone having this issue too? If my 4g is on, i can surf the Web, but now it won't update apps or download them. It stuck on waiting for network, but when i switch to 3g, download starts right away...4g not working for downloading or updating apps.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
It's been posted before in other portions of the thread. Nothing I can do besides the temp fix. Go to setting-manage apps- the find the play market and clear the cache then uninstall the update. You will have to do that every time you re enter the market under 4g
let me guess you are on a GB build possibly with a ICS modem? if so then you need to choose either one or the other. i was having the same problem recently and thats how i fixed it.

Yes your correct there is no real fix until they update the market again. or if you flash a ROM with a new Ics market then it should work fine.
