Try clearing data and cache from the Gmail app itself

Do you have the app locker called "Seal" installed? If so, go into the app's settings and disable root functionality. There is a known problem with this app that causes emails to get stuck in the outbox.

I've seen this with Google Music. I've force stopped and cleared data but the problem randomly comes back and I dont know whats triggering it

For me, the best working solution is to press multitasking button and swipe away all the apps.

Thats what i did too
At first i tried to open my music, it opened my google voice instead :/ but thats the temporarily solution i suppose :/
This has not gone away. Even if I try to access messaging from the app drawer or recent app list it doesn't work. Hitting back cycles through other apps, does not help. The only way to access messaging is through the people app or through a notification.

Try rebooting it?
Like someone said, swipe away all the recent apps.

Text-to-Speech + Wifi only Notifications

Are there any working Text-to-Speech apps out yet for ICS?
Also, is there a way to only receive notifications from certain apps ONLY when a wifi connection is on? I want to save my data.
I don't see why existing TTS engines wouldn't work - I use SVOX classic on ICS, just as I did on Gingerbread.
It's only a free trial and the comments said it didn't work on ics. I'll keep searching

Received answer on wifi question. Anyone regarding the TTS? I'm wondering if I should move this question to the development thread..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Any updates on when TTS will be available for ICS? I can't find anything on it.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Google has had TTS built in for a long time. What are you trying to do... just change the voice?

Go into data usage, look at your apps that use most data an click on it. Select a limit for data usage an click restrict data. Great feature of ICS

I'm trying to have my texts read out loud to me when they come in but it doesn't work. It only works when I turn "talk back" on but then my phone speaks everything, lol.

Download Vlingo from the market. Put it in in car mode. Turn on safe reader. It'll stay on now until you turn it off. Your prayers have been answered.

In car mode is on and safe reader is on but it still won't read out loud automatically... Please help!!! Lol.. Do I have to disable ringtone or something? My default messaging application is Handcart if that makes a difference.

Handcent* Sorry

Samsung S3 calendar default?

Does any one know how to set the s3 so that the default calendar is Google. All appointments by default go to Samsung calendar. I want to be able to just use Google. I have lost appointments because they didn't show in Google on my other devices. Can't seem to find any way of doing this. Thank you

Go to Calender in app drawer, settings and scroll down to calendar and unchecked those you don't want to sync.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I tried it still will default to the Samsung calendar even though I am not synching.

Ok, did you deactivate syncing for samsung? Go to settings>acounts and sync>tap samsung and uncheck calendar.

Thanks a lot..
I did. Still defaults to Samsung calendar and does not show in Google. The only way to get appointments on Google is to select Google calendar drop down every time.

Problems with gmail app sending after 4.2.1

Tried to find a topic but didn't.
Anyone else having problems with sending in the gmail app after the 4.2.1 update? When replying the mails often won't be sent at all - the app will say "sending..." forever and mails remain in outbox "folder". At the same time when testing by sending a new mail it often works just fine.
The problem seems to apply a google app account, not the gmail account i'm logged in on the phone.
Any ideas? I'll try to empty the app cache now.

Emptying data and cache didn't help.

Stock messaging app problem

Hello everyone,
I'm having an odd problem. The stock touchwiz messaging app won't display notifications. Any third party app will, and but the stock won't. I have tried clearing the data for the stock app, but that hasn't helped.
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks.

Factory reset should help.
Make a backup of all your apps and data with Titanium Backup and your contacts with Google.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
You probably already checked this but make sure the notifications are checked the settings of the messaging app itself.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Yes I did check, but thank you.
The only thing I can think of is I installed and uninstalled an app called slide messages. It has an option tondisabke broadcasting by stock sms. I unchecked this before uninstall though.
