Is the Bravia engine any good? does it have any advantages? I'm curious but the UI never appealed to me xD
Ofc it has, it enhance your picture and video xD it good, your rom + v6 supercharger + plus this mod its a perfect match have u tried it?

Is there already a way to undo this easily ? (Without flashing the whole firmware again)
I made a backup and will test the bravia engine soon. So if a backup of files is needed I could provide them.

Yeah..+1..need an easy undo..I've tested already..but not much improvement...oops..my bad..not want to say.but i will keep testing...is this same with rio's black notes rome that have bravia tweak too.?

Hey there,
I have done some research. The picture or video itself won't change, it will only be portrayed different. So once the picture is on your PC it will look all same. And the pictures before and after will look on the Device same, too. You will only see the difference if you do a screen shot before and a screenshot after.
So this isn't the great upgrade like expected but also not useless, so no need to uninstall or undo.
I have not seen anywhere a undo option, other than the option with flashing.

A nandroid to backup and restore..,?just for that small tweaks.?urmm..can I say its a pretty boring-long-wait-restore-a-whole devices- method..can u provide a flashable .zip for stock file that this tweaks hve replace.?just my suggestions.. perhaps it makes other people easy to testing this tweak and undo thing easily neither to restore a nandroid..

i have tried adding this manually to my Galaxy W 2 weeks ago.
what is does is just increase the contrast of the photos and videos by 5% maybe at the most
photos and videos look sharper as a result - but on some shots be prepared to lose to some details due to the contrast being boosted artificially.
it is not something that intelligently analyses photos and videos before applying the contrast fix but just applies the effect to all - hence some photos and videos with very good contrast is going to look bad.
it might help much on normal LCD screens but i think the native contrast of the SuperLCD on Galaxy W is sufficient.
applying this 'fix' on phones with AMOLED / Super AMOLED / Super AMOLED Plus screens such as Galaxy S / Galaxy S II / Galaxy S Plus / Galaxy Note is an overkill.

I tried modding it and i bekieve its working . Its doesnt create wonders or turns your sgs into sgs2, but still will make ui a bit smoother and photos and icons a bit clear and crisper.
It really does improve video playback on your phone. I tried SGS1 and my videos are clearer and have better colors

Maybe i get the hole thing wrong, but is the bravia engine not some sort of image post-processing? so how can it improve ui smoothness? if at all, it should slow down the phone as it has to process the images before they are displayed

totally support this.voodoo colour produces good results in some particular settings but bravia engine is way better and the colours are really vibrant.

I dont have a flashable zip right now. I dont even have a rooted phone right now to make on. So ill include it in my next rom. Btw if someine has better knowledge about this then pls comment here as i dont feel that i enabled it properly.
Flash this via CWM This .zip works on every rom that is rooted ( AOSP / CM7 / MIUI ). It is universal CWM Package
It's a pity the stuff in the build prop, won't do jack. It sets flags on that which does not exist, but on Sony built ROMs IMHO. It's Sonys tweak mod for there ROMs... Like Voodoo, Neutral colors, Galaxian, Speedrom blah etc.
Perhaps a kernel dev could verify it. The missing swiqi links to nowhere..

If you don't notice difference with Voodoo Gamma hack..
1- you have problem in your eyes and need glasses
2- you didn't touched the settings and left them as "stock"
Try the settings in the thread below and you wont talk about bravia engine anymore.

as has been noted in GadgetCheck's thread in the SGS2 development forums, while folks are loading the modules there is no service to utilize them, which is Sony Erickson proprietary... Even on AOSP ROMs on the SE phones, it can't be enabled... just on SE ROMs on SE ONLY hardware that it is already built for (though possibly not enabled, hence how this "hack" can work on certain SE phones!)

This is my version of the latest At&T* I317UCALK7 . The ROM was posted in its stock form with no modem and no kernel by SCROSLER AKA SCOTT. I have stripped it down very hard. I have added some of my favorite scripts listed below.This is my first time to ever release anything before . I have modded Roms of others for a couple years but never released one. This ROM is very simple its close to stock but the battery life is amazing and so is the speed. This is due to the hard "stripping "of what I consider bloat! Yes several . In the beginning My house got hit with lighting and burn up my computer ,TV etc. So I was working off my sisters computer and had a bit of confusion. Lol Its safe but always make a backup no matter what you decide to do !

I know what you mean. There are so many great ROMs in here .Its a hard choice . I have tried them all from Miscom to Jedi . Lol I wish I could just stay on one . So I made this one and its about the longest I have stayed on one. You can add whatever you want to this ROM and make it your own.

I have been on Jelly Thunder for a very long time, love the theme work and reliability, but I am always trying to flash new things and see whats out there, you just never know what your going to like or dislike if you don't try. downloading now. :laugh:

My question is,how did I get a Mobile Bravia Engine 2,when I haven't flashed it?Today I wanted to reduce brightness,so I went settings>display and was quite amazed,I wasn't hope to see that.The only thing I flashed is AC!D v6.1 and as far I know it doesn't install BE2 and that's all I done,rom is stock. 45 rooted cwm installed and locked bootloader.Can anyone solve this?
well its already inlcuded in v6.0 so i guess when they updated the mod to 6.1 its already there

Edit: please ignore that .DS_store file within the zip. it is just a hidden file that is in every directory of the Mac OS (yes im a mac guy). Apparently it is just meant to help the OS remember the order of the files within a directory. It was left in there because, like i said, it's hidden so i didnt even think to remove it because I really didnt know it was there.

Just flashed this and its great. Colors really pop and looks stunning. I compared this to my GS3 and there is a slight yet significant difference. It's worth a flash. Also no issues so far and had a successful install. :good:

removed the .ds_store files then flashed to my i9000 and all is great thanks for the mod and thanks for the working zip

We included this in our rom "blackout" over a month a couple weeks ago..I found it in beginning of January and we decided to try it..To be honest with you I think it's more placebo effect then anything but that's my opinion. I tried several comparison taken pics without, and with it, put them on my computer and I can't tell a difference.
The real version actually has a screen to enable,and disable in phones that carry this by default.

I beg to differ but on my i9000 it significantly improves the pictures taken in low light

running smooth
even for the live wallpaper seem to be more fluid than before
photos/videos look vivid with more colors and details before
low lighting shooting are better
some how it seem like it has accelerated JB transition effect to be more buttery..

I'm ask here a thing: it's possible on the latest stock lollipop ROM by Sony 14.6.A.1.236 rooted to have the full black UI for System UI (Settings, call, message...)
Because I'm true annoied by the white of lollipop, and since the "night" mode isn't available on 5.1.1 , there is a way to obtain something similar?
I've inverted some screenshots from my phone for example (attached below) in my opinion true black it's wonderful for settings, phone UI and so on...
tell me which are yours opinions...and if there is a way to obtain this.

This is a good news...can I flash your zip on latest stock ROM rooted?
There are problems, bugs?
The fonts are not included, right? Because I use customized fonts...

Be aware: 1) options in thread for stock nav bar or 4 button, 2) white borders around dialog boxes, (I didn't like, so I replaced with apktool), 3) some instances where you get light-on-white text, (you can fix if you know what files to change).

Nothing wrong with giving someone a push. It's not lazy to ask for help, but when you get it, use it... It's good to give that benefit of the doubt at first.

The spirit of a forum, first of all, is to give support.
In any case, when a person answers someone, it's because he thinks he can help that user... and the same is when one guy asks a question here.
Even though trivial, even if stupid, if one wants answers, helps a person that have dubt.
For years I have joined this forum, it's the perfect place to start from scratch and can always find someone who responds and helps you.
When I can, I do the same. If I know something, I answer and share. Because knowledge need to be shared.
Regarding this question about dark mod in particular, I was allowed to open a thread because I wanted to do a bit of clarity on this: there are several open threads, but with regard to the various problems or encounter glich graphics, are scattered in various discussions, and for me dispersive.
About your MOD, I saw that you updated the OP, and therefore the fact that it is compatible with the latest system update. So, thank you very much for this.
On KK, I use a xperia theme that do the magic by <i>Emperor.dk</i> (according with SuperUser MOD) that work very well.
For Lollipop, the situation it's more complex...for this I wonder if at present, it was possible to do the same with Lollipop.

Here is a very nice rom,you can have full black ui here,if you select it in aroma installer.
just use google translate to do it.
l really like black ui and i use it for long time,
very happy with it,it s shame that this rom is not available here in XDA
