[JDEVIL ] (LK7)_ rom v2_1.23.13 TEAM ZODIAC - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

This is my version of the latest At&T* I317UCALK7 . The ROM was posted in its stock form with no modem and no kernel by SCROSLER AKA SCOTT. I have stripped it down very hard. I have added some of my favorite scripts listed below. This is my first time to ever release anything before . I have modded Roms of others for a couple years but never released one. This ROM is very simple its close to stock but the battery life is amazing and so is the speed. This is due to the hard "stripping "of what I consider bloat! This ROM is very stable on my phone* We have not seen any f/c of any type . There is a lot of apks, zips etc. you can find in XDA and add back if you want it added back .I have used kernals on here and didn't really see the difference in speed . I decided to use the stock kernel but a kernel will work nice if you want one..The ROM has apps that to some might be malicious. If you choose to be that way with them do it at your own risk. I don't advise it.I don't know if this ROM is flashable with twrp. I use cwm. NOTE::::IM NOT A DEVELOPER . IM JUST AN AVERAGE GUY THAT LOVES ANDROID.ILL BE POSTING LINKS TO STUFF THAT WORKS NICE WITH THIS ROM AND YOU CAN MAKE IT YOUR OWN CUSTOM ROM. THINK OF THIS AS A PURE DEBLOATED FAST STABLE LK7 BASE ON BEAR METAL FOR YOU TO BUILD ON.
REMOVED: BOOTANIMATION. I'm very very impatient.

I know what you mean. There are so many great ROMs in here .Its a hard choice . I have tried them all from Miscom to Jedi . Lol I wish I could just stay on one . So I made this one and its about the longest I have stayed on one. You can add whatever you want to this ROM and make it your own.

I have been blind working on a ROM which you all know the name (BeastMOD II). I Havent done much since i cant test so i have added things i know wont make it bootloop. Well this doesnt mean i havent really done much because i have done much. The ROM Will be touchwizless so dont spect you will gave touchwiz launcher on it. Im removing all touchwiz stuff (Eventho i like some of them) because my BeastMOD line is making a ROM far from the stock ROM as you see on the sensation that it was a sense ROM base and was the closest to AOSP. This ROM will be Small as i spect But not a bored ROM with no widgets or fun stuff. You will like it alot, well hopefully but i know you all will, i never fail on a ROM so.... Enough said right. I put long hours of work on my ROMs so they come out the way they are (TOTAL BEASTS). This ROM might come with a stock kernel but will support init.d, Nano text, command shell and some other things i plan to add. Well ill keep you guys updated with more stuff.
Yay! Hope you get your phone today, Can't wait to try your rom to enable the beast of Hercules! Looking forward to it
Good luck on getting a tmo sgs2 today. Hopefully your ROM includes some battery optimizations because my battery life kinda sucks, lol.

Good to see you over here Melvin, your ROM's actually kept me flashing back and forth from CM7 on the Sensation.
That's great that you found a buyer for your phone.
I have to say the things that I am looking for are:
bounce effect back in the browser (the blue light effect is driving me nuts)
True EXT4
Deodexed
Stock look with optimization (themes will come I am sure)
Bloatfree but keep the necessities
Battery optimization
at&t's version of SMS (that would just be a bonus)
Forgot about the video editor from the original galaxy s II
We all appreciate all your work on XDA and look forward to you developing some great Roms for us.

i used maxthon for a while some time ago but iv gone back to stock miui browser, MIUIv4 ICS browser was great but the roms were too buggy for me. edit: and miuis backup is great.
The only one on your list that I would have removed is sound recorder. The rest is all good and useful. Please developed this from to something really fast. Unless people are happy with it. If so carry on

I'm all for people trying to get into the custom rom game, it can bring diversity to the custom rom market. However I would not classify this as "No Bloat" because rmk defined it as "anything you could easily choose to download from the Market yourself, has been removed." Thanks for the contribution!

For me that seems better. As long as there is one person using it, it belongs here IMO. Still would like to see some sort of speed mod though. Maybe borrowing some tweaks from bulletproof or something.

I'd say you'd have to do a bit more than just remove a few apps and media files. You don't really gain anything by that do you? Just a little free space and since the Vision has plenty of that it really isn't an issue. Maybe a few scripts or something would do good? Some roms have adblock scripts and sd-readahead tuning scripts and such installed by default so the average user doesn't need to do anything.
You could change the original MIUI file manager to apooonets modded one which has access to root files and such, though you might want to ask him(/her) first. You can find the xda thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
Anyways keep on going, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

Droidcell,
I've been thinking about this and came to the conclusion that its just too similar to stock. Miui runs well as it is so you would have to do something crazy to bring people in. Have you thought about stripping it right back to only the core elements:
Phone
SMS
Market
Contacts
Gapps (or just market as the rest can be got from there)
That way it would be proper stripped back. If people want to add a browser or whatever they have the market.
What do you think?

[ROM] CapRom Turbo | AROMA | 07/06/12 | T-mobile

Disclaimer: By using this rom you acknowledge and agree to the following: you know what you are doing and I do not offer this ROM with any type of warranty. I am not responsible for any bricks, or damage to your phone.
Hi, welcome to CapRom Turbo. The Turbo in the name is a street fighter 2 reference, as my Amaze ROM was CE, "Turbo" is the just next logical step in the nomenclature.
This is really a side hobby for me as I know this is derivative work. Please consider donating to the real devs! This ROM is just for fun until the real roms we're all waiting for are released.
Video: http://youtu.be/TeDXh9KaOZI << This is video of my Amaze ROM and not the SGS3 ROM but the installer looks the same.
Features - Customizable. You control your options.
Install options:
Launchers: Apex / Touchwiz / Trebuchet
AOSP replacements for Samsung apps (calculator, calendar, mail, MMS)
V6 Supercharger
ES File Explorer
Titanium Backup
Re-Bloat/reinstall some apps
Toggle2G to help with battery savings.
Battery % optional
Community:
Tell me what you guys want to see or add, and I will try my best, if appropriate, to accommodate your requests. Also, tell me what works, what doesn't, what is good, what isn't.
Notes:
I don't make any warranty as to how this will work for non Tmobile phones, so please don't inquire about it.
I highly recommend RomanBB's Adama 3 kernel. I'd include it but i am having problems with the kernel installation.
A kernel is not included, but you can install one immediately after the AROMA installer has completed its run.
Known Issues:
-Toggle2g requires root access and the phone process may occasionally stop. Just grant it access / hit wait.

I haven't come across any problems as of yet but I did just flash it so only time will tell. Thanks though Glad to see some touchwiz crap gone.
Nice Work!
I love the New ROM - the installer is very nice and I love all the options you offer - couple of odd things occurred - I opted to use the Touchwiz launcher - when i tried to change wall paper for home and lock screen - the only wallpapers you could choose for the Lock Screen were from the canned group of wall papers that come with the rom - on other roms and stock you can choose lock screen wallpaper from Gallery - it does let you choose home screen wall paper from other sources besides the stock wall paper - (I wonder did my choice of not wanting LIve Wall Papers effect this in some way?)
I also miss the Visual Voice Mail Ap - I was able to pull it from the redruM Rom with Root Explorer and push it into the Ap folder so no big deal

Welcome sir. I remember you from the amaze forum. Im about to flash this beast

Thanks - I didn't know TMO Visual Voice Mail was avaialble thru Market- thanks for the tip and thanks or all your work on this ROM.
I've been rooting since the g1 came out , and I'm here to tell you your installer is sick. That is the best ever. So far this Rom is rocking.

[Q] re: AllianceROM N7100 DMA6 V1.0

@ comnam90 et al
I registered really in order to thank you for your work but as I cannot post in the Dev section I've had to place this here. So, many thanks!! Great 'ROM' and nice to see you guys are so responsive to questions/requests etc.
Perhaps someone here can tell me if they have also noticed that "Set Font" selection lags badly, taking about 30 seconds to call up the font list?
Once again, nice work and many thanks!!
Re: [Q] re: AllianceROM N7100 DMA6 V1.0 + Font Selection
Yes I've used this Rom before for a month it was working out pretty well but there's lack of updates and battery life seems to be better on android Revolution HD or omega roms. I also noticed that when changing the fonts it takes a while to open up the list, my guess is that it's because it's a pretty huge list of fonts that has been added to this Rom, you should manually get rid of the ones you don't need through root explorer to resolve this issue.

Re: [Q] re: AllianceROM N7100 DMA6 V1.0 + Font Selection
Thanks bushako. Yeah that makes sense, and I probably overstated the delay - it's more like 10 or 15 seconds on my note - but I'm very happy with battery life, which is much better than stock in my experience. This ROM has worked well from the get-go, so the lack of updates is not a bad thing imo. That said it's only 10 days or so since the last one!
Re: [Q] re: AllianceROM N7100 DMA6 V1.0 + Font Selection
Thanks for the reply.
hi Buddy,
if you have installed the ROM using RC(Rom Customizer), remember you have an option there to which apps to install and not to install.
i think you can use it again to uninstall .apk especially the fonts. AllianceRom has a huge list of fonts for the users benifit but it makes the font list to load longer than usual.
if you installed directly from custom recovery. you may use 3rd party app to navigate to /data/app and uninstall the fonts apk.
regards,

Yea there was an update from the developer stating that there's a new update on its way soon. However, I have to agree these are just regional updates and not much beneficial, to me at least. The changes log won't be much except for a dpi switcher which isn't necessary since I use xposed framework to change dpi set up. I'm using ARHD 12 rom at the moment and it serves me well.

HDMI out
Thanks for the replies guys! I have a further question about this ROM which I'm unable to answer myself, as I don't have the necessary cables: Presumably HDMI-out will work on this, being so closely based on Stock? I plan to get a dock at some point. Thanks again.
Bump
Yeah it should work.

Possible New Note II User, couple of questions?

Hi Guys,
Been an HTC guy, all my Android life. Thinking of picking up my first Sammy with the Sprint's version of Note 2. Just had a couple of questions about software and ROMs:
1. Are you guys expecting a Port or Updates from the new S4, coming to the Note 2? If so, when? Or if they've been ported already, can someone point me to the ROM or mods for those?
2. Been familiar with Sense and AOKP/CM10.1 for some time now. Never used TouchWiz. What are most of you driving with here? TouchWiz light and snappy enough with balance of pretty to be used as your Daily Driver, or are you guys AOKP kinda guys here as well? Either way, can you make some ROM recommendations for a new guy? I'd like to experience the Sammy experience, before moving on to AOKP, if possible?
Any other tips you can give me before I switch? I will be switching from an EVO LTE with CarbonROM running on it. Thank you for your time.
It's pretty much a 50/50 when it comes between TouchWiz or AOSP. There is already an s4 system dump.
For Rom recommendations I would suggest if you want TouchWiz stay on stock that's my opinion. And if you want AOSP is suggest CyanogenMod.
PAC rom is good too but for me I love simplicity. So that's why I'm currently on stock right now or CyanogenMod

I was an HTC guy before coming to Sammy. I can say I wasn't all that thrilled with Touchwiz, compared to Sense.
I ended up ditching Touchwiz for Nova Launcher and a couple extra widget paks (HD widgets for clock and Android Pro Widgets for Timeline aka Friendstream and Contact favorites).
I am very happy with this combination.

I was the same at first, but in the long run, I actually Prefer TW to Sense. By miles. Stock TW is (usually, with perhaps a small bit of configuring) faster, and makes more intuitive sense (haha).
AOSP is of course loverly, but TW has a few features w/o totally obscuring Android that I think are ok, even worth it.
Thank you everyone for the response guys!
Just was wondering that I should try out TW for a bit, since I have never used it daily before. The gimmicky features from Sammy on the S4 though... like the Camera app and gestures and eyes thing for scrolling... do you guys think those will be/can be ported to the N2?
Thanks again for everyone's input... getting excited! Just not sure if the N2 will be too much of a phone for me to hold LOL!

Those are coming to our device either this month or next month. And before this device, I as a big time rooter, but I say stay stock, it has everything you could ever need.

I too switched from HTC for 3 years.. And I can say I haven't been happier!!! Tw does take some getting used to after sense, but none the less its every bit as good as sense IMO... If I want a tweaked stock tw ROM, I suggest checking out the lab rats ROM.. Its pretty cartoonish stock, but the updater is chocked full of themes and different apps. Its been an amazing ROM. I used to be a flashaholic til the rats came my way. Not to mention they gotta be the friendliest, goofiest, most entertaining group of devs I've seen yet and as for requests, if its possible its usually pretty quick turnaround and they enjoy all they do probably even more than we do!!! Give it a shot and I can almost bet you will keep coming back to the lab!! Of course this is just my opinion, but there are many more who share it!! As well as, of course, some that don't..

Everyone,
Thank you for your wonderful responses. I just brought home the N2 and it's a MONSTER !!! LOL!
I do want to stay TW for a bit though... so can you guys recommend the most UP TO DATE, and MOST CUSTOMIZEABLE TW ROM with hopefully the LEAST about of bugs and MOST amount of speed? (LOL! I know, talk about Eutopian demands, right !?)
An example of that ^ from the EVO LTE world is Team Venom's ROM...
I will Root though, because I need apps like Titanium Backup to fully set me up on the new device...
Thank you again for all your help! Looking forward to loving the Sammy world !
And oh, for the folks saying that GS4 camera and other features are coming to N2... do you think there will be some features that will NOT work on the N2 for Hardware or Kernel (firmware) issues? Thanks again!

There will be some things that won't work properly due to hardware restrictions, but most everything that doesn't rely on hardware, we should be getting at some point..

Thanks again for the responses guys. Tried my first few ROMs last night... JellyBomb... LabRats... Nice ROMs, but they are too "modded" and touched for my taste...
What ROM can you recommend that's kinda Stock, debloated, keeps the original spirit of Stock at it's heart, with performance enhancements?
Is Synergy a good one?
Also... what's the later build? M7 or something after that? I am forgetting the name right now ...

Hey sparytrainor,
Thank you for your response. Per your recommendation, I tried the Lab Rats ROM, but found a NUMBER of issues with them:
1. I didn't like the annoying PnB Bootanimation, and tried changing it via their built Customization app, but it just booted into Recovery and did nothing ...
2. The kept prompting an update, annoying
3. Flashlight toggle didn't work
Just seemed way too customized to me, without a whole lot of value for those changes.
I am now trying Stock MC2, Rooted and DeOdexed, but I can't seem to boot in. TWRP says, it needs to fix Root permissions at the end of the flash and in both cases (Fix or Not), the phone reboots and sits at the Samsung GN II screen...? Am I missing some firmware requirements here?
When I get that ROM going, I hope to debloat it with TB, and find ways to tweak it a bit, like find a Battery mod or something maybe...?
Thanks again for everyone reading my thread!

OK, in the updater, go into settings and select reboot type and select the recovery u use. This will fix the reboot and install not working.
Also there are fixes in the updater for all the other issue u mentioned with the ROM other than the flashligt , which I use one from the play store anyway..
Check out the updater website for previews of the mods and themes.
http://updater.team-nocturnal.com/labrats/
And as for the other issue, mine says it needs to fix root sometimes as well, but I swipe to fix and everything goes fine. If you didn't update to mc2, u may need to. Here's a link for that as well..

Good luck to u.. Happy flashing and enjoy your new favorite phone!!!

Thank you again, friend, that seems to have worked !
Couple of follow up questions:
1. In the LabRats ROM, if your Swipe to Capture function working?
2. Is there a "safe list" available for the apps I can uninstall to de-bloat?
3. If you run into a faster, less bulky ROM, please share with me , thanks!
Actually that goes for everyone else, as well. Please share your thoughts and inputs if you happen to have some cool ROM recommendations for TW ROMs that are the lightest and the fastest an least buggy !
Thanks guys!
You'd have to search around for a list of what can and can't be removed.. Or u can do like I did and make a backup so if u remove something that breaks the ROM, u can restore ur backup in twrp and be right back where u started..
Swipe to capture has to be turned on in settings. By default it is off.. I used it to take this screenshot for u..
As for a debloated ROM, you might do well with nowiz aosp in development section..can't get much more debloated than that..

Couple of questions bro:
1. What's the eye icon in your screen shot in the notification bar? I never get that...
2. What theme are you using? Link to that theme and other cool ones like it? (I love Red themes )
3. As for the swipe to screen, I've had the right settings enabled, but for the life of me, I cannot get that feature to work ... Even tried it on a friend's stock GS3, nothing. Saw videos on YouTube as well, mimicking the same thing, still no go ... wonder what's up?
As always, much appreciate your kindness and help !
We can help a lot more if you post in our lab rats thread.
I removed about as much as I could without complaints. I personally would remove more, but I wanted to keep the users happy. I would remove s voice, email, calender, Google search, Google now, voice recorder, and voice search. Themes are in the updater and screen shots are on our Web site. All PATB can be removed via the updater.
The eye is smart stay that you must turn on. Flashlight works perfectly fine for everyone else as well as swipe to capture.
Thank you sparytrainor!
