Hi!
I gave ICS a chance in the last days but found a blocking issue: Obviously VPN via IPSEC/L2TDP does not work anymore.
I do not know what to make out of it. I reverted back to CM 7, because I need this feature to access my e-mail server. But I cannot believe, that such a serious bug is in ICS, because all business users will get problems with it.
Bye!

It's a beta!! So if you want a ROM where everything is working, do not one.

Does not matter that ICS is beta for this device L2TP/IPSEC timeouts are a known problem on the Galaxy Nexus, Xoom, and Transformer Prime. So less sarcasm more understanding that this is a an ICS problem not a Custom ROM problem.
Sure that it's an ics issue? I've seen additional kernel features for these parameters. It could just be that the kernels available as of now (yes, for the Galaxy Nexus too) were compiled without this support.
Initial stock kernels aren't released with full vpn support and these modules have to be enabled and custom kernel compiled.
Hello,
Okay, I found a ticket something under the topic
Issue 23124: Can't connect to VPN (nexus s - ice cream sandwich)
(Sorry, as a newbie I cannot post a link).
If this is correct, it is an issue in all Android 4 version (4.0.1, 4.0.2 and 4.0.3) .

And here we are again, here every day, searching the threads for anything that says 4.2.
It wont be long I'm sure, right?
Maybe even Cyanogenmod 10.1 (this speculation is based on nothing).
I will try to keep this updated.
If you really need a fix now, this is the best we got.
4.2 Camera
there are also 4.2 gapps somewhere.

What is The Best Kernel / Rom Combo for Xperia Arc/S where WiFi and WiFi Tethering works completely stable on Jelly Bean?
I have been searching the forums for about a week now and haven't found anything remotely to the question i'm asking. I've seen similar posts about the best Combo's but none which specifically for certain Options within the Rom/Kernel ....
So far I have Tried:
Kernels....
LuPus JB V2-V4
FXP 144-146
Fusion JB
JBV02
Roms....
C.A.M.P.S JB
AOKP Anzu Build 4 & 5
MIUI JB 2.11.2
Jellybean-V02
I hope those list will help that I have been hunting around
I am using JellySandwich 8.2 with Arc Knight kernel, no problems yet and everything works fine that you need

I know about JellySandwich and I have to agree there is no problems whatsoever with JellySandwich but it's Ice Cream Sandwich based Rom with JellyBean goodies I was after a JellyBean Rom that supports with what I need. The unfortunate part is that there is no Official JellyBean Firmware for our devices so we have to hope that a custom can do it. But thanks for your analysis anyways
Arc Fusion 3.9 with FXP 147, only problem I have is gps (doesn't work)
I get 1.5 days in battery life with interactiveX and Sio
Light gaming and surfing the net and facebook
Tethering doesn't work on 147, However you can make it work with 145 with this wifi tether fix
Though I think there were problems with youtube on 145 (me thinks)
I use since few days JB V03 4.1.2 but with Fusion 3.9, and it seems to be good. wifi works great, hotspot also nice. 2g/3g normally.
battery is also good. I use 2g/3g all the time, and the battery works like 1,5-2 days which is good cause every previous rom i had was discharging during a day.

Thank you both for your ideas on Combo's I have tried both Combo's with an unfortunate result ... I should've stated because technically you were both right and Tethering does work. But on both USB Tethering works great no problems. But I unfortunately needed Wi-Fi Tethering which doesn't work on either. On one of them (Fusion 3.9, FXP 145 with Tethering Module) Does Pick up as working but no Data sends out. I have had to Revert back to stock LT15i ICS Rom because my internet in my home runs of tethering (Wireless Tethering). But seriously thank you both for your Ideas.
JB still on development.. we must stick with ICS dude... mybe next year we (Xperia 2011 user) will taste the most stable JB without any bug..

I have given it a try but because I have had a good taste of JB I unfortunately can't go back to GB. Yes it is amazing in all of what you said but the JB goodies has killed my rational thought lol. But thank you for the opportunity

I'm using Xperia Ultimate HD 2, and I'm pretty happy with it, it's very stable and really smooth, smoother than anything I've tried so far, it's based on 4.0.4 which is the last ICS version before Jellybean, people say 4.0.4 is the best version of ICS overall. So the Xperia Ultimate HD 2 is a great Rom built on a great base. Obviously you want Jellybean features but I'm not sure on everything you want, but I have Google Now on here, and I think it's modded to look like JB, you should check it out on the Complete Rom list and see if it has what you want

I have been using this ROM for about 1 week now and I really like it. In ICS and JB ROMS I have tried on my Galaxy Gio I have found that WiFi is slow to connect and sometimes failed to do so, also I sometimes got reboots and applications failing to start. I didn't know quite what AOSP was until this ROM became available and now I am a big fan. I do miss one or two features from ICS/JB and AOKP but what I lose in features I gain in stability.
I also wanted to mention that in the following thread is a flashable Zip described as a Value Pack. It contains some additional launchers, including: Apex, TouchWiz 5 (?) and LG. Before doing so though, you need to know that (a) this is not supported by the Oxygen ROM developers, (b) after I flashed this I got a message that my SD card was corrupt, but after a reboot this message no longer appeared, (c) there is no guarantee that these launchers will remain compatible as Oxygen ROM continues to be upgraded.

a small note; oxygen isnt AOSP.
launchers are launchers, shouldnt make a difference between oxygen versions

Oh. I thought that after searching the XDA forums I was able to confirm that it is AOSP. This is just one thread which mentions OXygen ROM and states that i's AOSP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833218. I know that this ROM is not for the Galaxy Gio S5660 but the description of the ROM's features seems to match what I get on my phone.
I mentioned the extra launchers available so that others who may be using this ROM know that they are available.
Voetbalremco, I don't doubt what you have said. I just want to explain why I thought this was AOSP. I'm happy to be corrected, because then I'll know the full story.
Regardless of *what* it is, though, it's stopped me from switching ROMs every day for more than a week.
Value pack is from my aokp o.o

Hi there
I just flashed cm9 (latest build) for my galaxy w and i am overall very impressed with its performance. However, when i installed 'onavo extend' i am not able to use it because it uses a new VPN feature that google brought in to ICS. I thought that this version of cm9 would have this feature but im told by onavo support that because im using a custom ROM, untill this feature is fully added to cm9 i will be unable to use the onavo extend service. I was wondering if arco68's version cm9 will support this in the future, can anyone help me?????:cyclops:

Although I don't know about this feature, I can tell you that having it on Cm9 depend on if this feature will be implemented by the cyanogen mod team.
Edited. Sorry for misspelling.

I can't post this where I would like to because I haven't posted enough, so I guess it goes here. I'm trying to find a rom with NFC enabled, mostly for use with Google Wallet. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm currently using the latest stable build of Slimkat and while it works well, I'm looking for more.

You can ask questions in Q&A just fine. That is where all questions go.
As for NFC, any stock based TouchWiz ROM should have NFC working just fine.
Every tw ROM I've ever used has it.

I've been running Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 1, with the new Android L recents and dynamic statusbar. It supports tap and pay as well as nfc. This is just an option if you don't like touch wiz based roms.
