Hi, I upgraded my HTC Desire s os, it became a litle slower. What really bug me more is the market. I don't want it as its is slow and consumes my data usage. Each time I uninstall updates it updates itself again. Pls how can I stop this automatic update and is there a way to remove the os update as well?
Thanks

No.
You can backup all your data and apps using mybackup though.
Now we haven't yet got fully root of desire.

What does that have to do with what's being asked though?
I've installed Metamorph from the market but every time i start it up and do the checks it makes my phone reboot, i am clueless to what the problem could be.
I am rooted and using OpenDesire v1.3b ROM if that helps.
At the Moment system write is only possible in recovery, but for metamorph you need write access in Android.

I don't have a clue what you're on about tbh, I'm a newbie so bare with me
Shall i uninstall it?
Metamorph need access to /system files to write to those files. It needs this while your phone is switched on and working as normal.
The Desire only allows write access to those files while it is in recovery mode. So MetaMorph will not work.

Can someone guide me the steps to uninstall rommanager.cynogen mod 7.0.3
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You can use the Titanumi Backup(root) to uninstall the app brings from the rom.
Or use the Root Explorer to delete the *.apk (I don't know it's full name) from system/app.

If your s-off. You can simply remove the app from the zip file before you flash it. Or do it through fastboot.

I've done it in such way.
1. Using Titanium backup I've performed backup of all the necessary applications, phonebook, sms, etc.
2. Removed RomManager from ROM'zip file
3. Flash it. (You should turn off signature verification before flashing modified ROM'zip files)
As far as i understand, rom manager is not installed in /system/app, but in /data/app.
So this guide might help you:

Superuser app is attached to message, flash it via recovery. When you boot your phone you will see it in app drawer.

Since you are rooted then rename the Updater.apk and Updater.odex files in the system/app folder to Updater.apk.bk and Updater.odex.bk.
