Right I have just been looking through the files on my SD card and noticed theres loads me files I have no idea what view are. My question is are all the important system files in the data folder? I'm on MIUI data2ext Rom so obviously its on my SD card. For example I i go into file manager and there is 3gb me stuff in the misc folder. I have no idea what all that is in there but it doesn't seem to be the data stuff.
Thanks
I'm not sure as to your system files as I've never used that rom. But I've read an been told that SD/lazylist folder can get quite big but is safe to delete as needed.

I am sure, nobody understands why you want to delete these files. Tell us.
Because I have 3gb of files that don't seem to be important. All I want to know is what files can't I delete in terms of the system files?

I'd be careful deleting data files directly. 3GB sounds like a hell of a lot, so I'd take a look through the application listing in Settings > Applications and see what's taking up so much space. Doesn't hurt to clean up here and there anyhow if you're careful
So I backed up my apps/apks using app backup and restore, i want to unlock and root but i want to save my apks. can I access them on my pc, I know I can with my droid X2, but i cant seem to find the sd card file on my computer to get the apks. any help is much appreciated.

Have you enabled mass storage? Then search for the files on your Sd card and transfer them.

I dont get why i cant see the sd card mnt file....if i bring the/mnt/sdcard file up in astro all my backed up apks are there but i don't see it when connected to my pc or my mac
Update...I got it i jus crerated a new file in astro under data and copied the apks to that file since i could see that one on my pc. so i got em done.
Let's say if I transfer my old .apk file under the 32Gb storage under My Documents. From the phone, how do I get to that directory or how do I find my files? Kept searching for almost for 2 hours but cant find it. please help me. thanks. mine is a stock rom

I see more files and folders on my sd card from astro than in Windows? Does anyone know how to fix?
Other than that I love my Nexus!

MTP doesn't always update the file directory for USB. Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bero.sdrescan
is there anyway to do it without downloading a 3rd party applcation?
I plugged my gs3 into my PC and using Windows Explorer and noticed every single folder is shown twice. It doesn't seem to be the case if I look at it on the phone with es file manager. I'd appreciate anyone's insight here. Thanks
OK. I have an idea of what's going on,but no idea how to solve it. I flashed liquid smooth jb 2.1. When I went to restore my apps with romtoolbox, there was no back up. This led me to es file explorer and noticed a folder "0". My entire internal storage is in this folder now. I found this http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-7-tablet/225362-doubles-everything.html which is my exact problem and it also includes pictures of what I mean. I read something about emulated...which means nothing to me. I'm screwed. Please help.
