I based my stuff on what puertoblack2003 and Przekret posted months ago.

It is strange for him to be reposting this given he was the one that posted it months ago.

Ah ok, I compared the EL29 OTA SHA1 checksums against the leaked EL29 you posted months ago and every file in the OTA matched what was leaked.
It is possible (but not probable) they changed some file that wasn't listed in the EL29 OTA. If they did something unlikely like that, then it wouldn't have been caught by the SHA1 comparison against the EL29 OTA.
I just compared every image in the leaked EL29 with the ones from this release.
Exact same set of image files and every image had matching MD5 checksums.
So now we know for sure they are exactly the same.
The only differences were the timestamps on the images, which are not really relevant as they aren't the timestamps that are being flashed, those are contained within the images themselves (and do match)

Just my 2cents:
I think it would reduce the amount of "What if I'm on EG31" posts if a message was put in the OP saying something like "ONLY EG30, NOT EG31, EG12". Lots of people only read the OP, and it would probably save a lot of headaches if it was made abundantly clear from the beginning. Gotta see it from a non-readers' perspective, "EG31 is an updated EG30 therefore it works".
Otherwise, awesome vid qbking. Your other vids definitely helped me when I first got this phone.

Just updated to stock 2.3.6. Thanks for the info and videos. It really made it easy.
I am currently on stock EG30 and was planning to upgrade to stock EK02. My question is if I can root after I upgrade to EK02, maybe with either of these files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367971

Or should I just go with the pre rooted EK02? I would like to try the stock out first just to make sure everything runs fine before I go rooted. Thanks in advance!

My question is... Is this update under 30mb? I thought roms are like over 100 mb. Did I download a wrong one? Thank you.

This is a point release. The file is ~20MB in size and contains changed files and scripts to uninstall CIQ. There is a full .tar for this release somewhere within Samsung and Sprint, but not leaked yet.

And probably won't be for some time if the lack of EI22 tar is any indication. This is just a maintenance update not a major upgrade.

I guess if u clear the Google services framework within app and press check for update... perhaps it'll work =]… if it doesn't the first time.. try 10 more times. It will say last checked on 1969 ... disregard that

Just reading through the comments on the article, seems a couple people are getting (Much) better signal strength. Whatever they did it seems to have worked! (Maybe they just poured butter all over the radio code?)

Potentially! Are they comparing them to the leaked 4.0.4 radios? Doubtful since they upgraded and were presumably on 4.0.2 lol.
Either way, someone needs to find the images and make a flashable zip. I need something to do at work, nah mean?
So if I am running Liquid (4.04) will all I have to do is flash the new radios once they are available?
Sorry for the noob question. Just got my nexus last week and new to the flashing scene.

Yes. Radios are compatible with pretty much anything. They are separate from the rom, and do not even "stick" with a nandroid.
OK I'm running the leaked 4.0.4... I'll have to revert to 4.0.2 yo receive this correct? And I installed Franco's kernel last night. Anywhere I can pick up stock kernel?

Don't hold your breath of course. The only reason I put any merit in this is one of the radio versions is listed in AOSP.

No, you are right -- you can't receive the update with a custom ROM, but a rooted stock ROM is perfectly fine. Bootloader lock/unlock makes no difference.

Yup. I completely misread and feel like an ass, my apologies.
Ok, forgive my noobness...
I am on AOKP MS5 with Franco Kernel MS3. But, I am on the IMM30B radios (I think - baseband says I515.09 V.FA02 / I515.FA02).
I would like to upgrade to the IMM76K radios (FC05 / FC05). But, how do I do this? I know I can just flash them like any other update, but I read somewhere that it only works if coming from the 4.0.2 radios. Is that true? Do I need to downgrade to 4.0.2 radios before upgrading to the 76K 4.0.4 or can I go from 30B 4.0.4 to 76K?
Also, are the MD5 sums different for each file? I hear people saying to check the MD5 values, but they are all different. Does that mean they are actually different versions of the radios, or are MD5 values just a unique identifier for the file?
Thanks for any help!
I came from the fa02 radios too- no problems at all- just flash in cwm. the CDMA one takes a while to flash, so don't panic The md5 is a digital signature to make sure your downloaded copy is the exact same file (not corrupted) as the original, so your md5 should match the one provided by the op exactly.

What about the MD5 values? Are all the 4.0.4 76K radio packages the same thing, even though the MD5 values are different?
As I understand it, they are not all created equal. Some are upgrades from certain existing radios (may not be 100% accurate here). Anyhow, I know this one is a full radio update: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630438
I've used this one on AOKP M5 and the same radio you're on, so that one should work for you.

Edit 2 : @DocHoliday77 has confirmed this actual OTA is ONLY for the SGH-T999..if you don't have one (you won't get the OTA) but DO NOT FLASH OR ATTEMPT TO FLASH ANY ODIN FILES!
Edit 3 : This has KNOX. Proceed at caution.
Edit 4 : have you ever been to jail? No? Me either. But if I had to picture it this update is much like it. Still to Docs leak thread or AOSP but don't touch this with a fine toothcomb if you want to root and later downgrade.

Ok, something important to be aware of. From piecing information together from users around these and other forums, it appears just about everyone who had problems with the 4.3 update had updated via OTA. So if you choose to update this way, please let us know how things go. But if you do experience problems, DONT PANIC, Grab Your Towel, and start downloading the Odin flashable full firmware update.
This of course will include the T-Mobile kernel. I am 90% certain that the reason WiFi did not work with the leaked kernel is because we did not flash the full firmware update. I believe the WiFi modules needed to be built into the bootloader (likely the aboot partition to be exact). This is what I was attempting to confirm when I bricked my phone. So by flashing the full firmware/OTA update, you should have a fully working build, including WiFi if I am correct.
Aside from this, I would suggest reading through some of my posts in the leaked Rom threads. This is the same build that was leaked to us a week or so ago. Do let me know how things are going, I wish I could join you guys in the discovery phase of this "official" version, but I seriously doubt that other than the kernel working, and Knox likely being left out, it will be any different from what we have been using.
I do not see any reason you should not be able to root, but I will get an insecure kernel posted asap. As soon as my download finishes. In the meantime, if anyone wants the insecure kernel from the leaked build, it should be exactly the same one. Download here:
UVUEMJC_Insecure_kernel.zip
Hope everything goes well, and I am still here to help!

You know, I have to be honest....I was hoping to be wrong about the latest leak becoming our official build! Was hoping they would update one more test build first, then we would have had another kernel/modem/build......oh well! I must say that I am quite surprised they went through with our release so quickly!
Someone must be watching us......
Thanks Doc, I'm in no rush.
