Im a little late getting this phone, could be this 16th that i order it, could be March, obviously im pulling for the 16th.
Now I've been loading Negri's site everyday to see the current price of the 16 GB titanium silver one, as thats probably going to be the cheapest.
now i see they also sell the "Canada version" >Seen Here<
And im wondering the differences from UK version? and why its cheaper? import taxes less?
Also: What do you guys think the white Galaxy Nexus will be when it is launched? and how much do you think it'll drop the titanium/silver version too?
Probably been asked before, but now im asking again.. sorry

I have the device. Its from Canada, not the UK, so they got a better deal on them obviously and are able to sell for less (got a better wholesale price and saved on shipping probably). I also think they're saving because the charger in the box works in the USA, whereas with the UK version they had to include a USA charger separately.
There are a few small coupons rolling around that can take $10-$20 off that price also. And standard FedEx shipping with Negri is always free.
It is not yakju, it's a yakju** variant (updates a couple weeks behind, read up on it). I flashed mine to yakju 4.0.2 right after I bought it no problem. Everything is great.

It'll probably be around $675 if I had to guess. They can't make any promises. you'll find out in a week. I had it on pre-order at $680, but it just wasn't worth it when I got my Titanium from them for $565.
It won't really effect the Titanium price. They're separate items and the white one is just more expensive because its new and exclusive. You'll see price drops of the Titanium regardless of the white being available just because its getting older.

All i9250 versions are pentaband. I'm using mine on T-Mobile US just fine.
Awesome. So I just might go for that one, since it's cheaper, and the white doesnt bother me, it would have been nice to have, not for the money tho. THANKS!

4G???
Sellers are advertising i9250's they say will work on GSM 700, AT&T's "4G" LTE service. Can this be true, or false advertising?? Uh, never mind. Did a search, should have known better. Guess HSDPA+="4G".

LTE and hspa+ Are both considered 4G.
The I9250 version only supports hspa+. Verizon one is LTE but only works on their network.

What site is a reliable place to buy this phone from when it gets released? Anyone have their recommendations?
My usual site for electronics purchases is Newegg.com, but i doub they get this phone in when its released (when EVER that is)
If not the cheapest, is a good price reference and trustable
Sale on 5 Jun

$785 isn't too bad i don't think. It says UK but since its in English i'm guessing it will work fine with US carriers? And i think i can deal with a early June release.. better than late July that's for sure.
Does anyone know about this sites? If they are trustful to buy?

no, nor will its unbranded form ever work on US 3g. If 3g is what you want then you will have to wait/hope for a version to come to a US carrier and branded Perosnally i have always disabled 3g on every device i have wned due to the battery drain. Until they fix that technology I will not be interested in it .... that is just me though
Be Careful!

i'm about to hit the checkout button on expansys-usa. i just don't see a gsm version officially hitting the states until probably february and it'll probably be only 16gb version. what's a tech addict supposed to do?
Do what I did and click Check out.
Give in. I did. We can sell the 16 when the 32 or the SGS3 hits. I was tired of waiting and you only live once. Enjoy!

I was in the same boat. I had the order screen up, staring at the pay button. Finally I just effin pressed Pay now. I sold my GS2 and paid a good chunk more for this phone. It arrived today. It seriously is the most amazing phone I've ever used. I have an iPhone 4 now for work and a GS2 before it for personal. The combo of ICS and this beautiful device just make for an awesome out of box experience. If you really want it, if you keep looking up stuff about it and thinking about it...buy it. You won't regret it.
it doesn't help i've already bought a mhl adapter, 6" rt angle to rt angle 3.5mm cable, screen protector, tpu case for it and an otg cable.

I would say your best bet is to at least wait for the release in Canada and then import it from Canada. You'll probably get a better deal that way. The official release date in Canada is Dec.8 and that's just a matter of less than two weeks so I would say wait until then and see if there is any more news on the GSM version in USA, and if not, import it from Canada for a smaller price
EDIT: Actually, either way the unlocked Galaxy Nexus from Bell is $649 without tax so with taxes and duty fees etc. its probably going to amount to the same price. Lol, I guess that was no help after all

Ok, I'll play devil's advocate for this thread. I happen to be one that really wants this phone as well, however I am going to wait just a little while longer for any rumors that it will be available 'legitimately' in the US for GSM. A few thoughts Im having:
- Warranty. If I were to buy from Negri, Handtec etc, while they most likely would assist in getting my device fixed, it would still take probably 2-6 weeks and 9 months down the road they may not be as helpful to expedite it. Also, they may give you a loaner phone, otherwise you would have to provide that while you're phone is in the shop.
- I have a feeling the US based GSM phones will be $599 for 16gb. While its only $100 less than buying it right now, I figure its worth the small wait.
- While I believe everyone's opinion over this phone, I also wanted to at least see a Verizon version of the device at a Best Buy just to make sure.
I have gone through a lot of android devices lately and hoping to find the right fit for me. Assuming the Nexus is, I hope to own it for at least 18 months. For others, feel free to refute me and maybe I'll be suckered into buying now as well
I'm one of the unlucky Handtec people still waiting on my pre-order and I would still hit the checkout button even with the foreknowledge of this. It's one of the few phones out there where the hardware and software are working together rather than the multitude of phones that are indeed hardware powerhouses but have the OS slapped on seemingly as an afterthought.

Is it worth it to wait and see if the GN drops in the US? Right now I can get one from Handtec for ~$696, but if it dropped here would it really be priced any cheaper? It's set to be Canadian$650 (~$636 in American monies), would it be priced maybe around $600 if it's released here? Maybe even less?
Or, is the HSPA+ version even going to come out stateside? All I've been hearing about is the CDMA/LTE version.
Insight?

I debated this for a long long time. Then my N1 had it's usual set of daily hiccups, and I had it. So I bought one. It's a great gadget, and almost worth the $700 I paid.
But, if you're okay with your current phone, stick it out and wait. It won't go up in price.

If you go to Canada and buy it outright you're going to be paying local taxes in the 10%-15% range, and either paying to convert your USD or pay a foreign transaction fee on your credit card... and you're still gonna pay $700 out the door, just like ordering from the UK importers.
If/when it does come to the US unlocked I'd expect it in the $550 range. Just depends how much you wanna pay to get it now.

$550!? I sure hope so!
Sometime last week, an AT&T version passed through the FCC, with HSPA+. Just about a month or so ago, AT&T was asking customers (on twitter, I believe) who would be interested in the device on their network. Seems like they listened.

The FCC only has to worry about the bands that will be used in the states, which is 850/1900. No reason why they'd make a specific version with a quadband radio to only work on AT&T and not T-mobile. Its more expensive than just using the current pentaband version that's available and putting an AT&T battery cover on it.
I'll give it two weeks. If it doesn't come to the US in a T-Mobile friendly version I'm getting myself one for the holidays from across the pond.

As the article says, just because it works on bands here and is passed through the FCC doesn't mean it will be sold here. Any phone that could be used on a carrier here needs to pass the FCC. The i9250 is the version being sold overseas right now.
Buy from UK
I think if you cant wait, you should get it from handtec or clove. they ship to usa and their prices dont include taxes for shipping to usa (i think, from what i have read and seen). the price is £445 including shipping, which is less than 700 usd.
i dont think it would release in usa for less than 649 (the same as the iphone 4s 16gb), then u have taxes etc.

Because from pretty much every angle, the Nexus One sales tactic was a failure. They partnered with Verizon this time to get bigger sales and exposure, and because of that we're not seeing it sold unlocked unfortunately.

Actually, two different GSM versions have passed through the FCC - the pentaband international version, and a version with only AT&T HSPA+ bands, see here: http://www.slashgear.com/galaxy-nexus-visits-fcc-again-but-with-att-bands-02199735/
First off, not at all affiliated with Negri.
Hey guys though I'd inform everyone that Negri Electronics has a sale going on right now for limited time. They're selling the Canadian version of the Titanium 16gb Galaxy Nexus for $595.50. The coupon "GIFT" works for $30 off ontop of that. $565.50 with free FedEx shipping and no tax if you live outside NV.
I just cancelled my pre-order for the white model and purchased one. REALLY wanted the white version, but I just can't justify the $120 price increase for it. (yes its just a placeholder and their actual price may be lower, but I still can't take that risk. Its serious money!)
The CAN version will not come with straight yakju, but I'll simply flash it the day I get it anyways.
Thought I'd share the great deal. Hope it all works for you guys too.

I did! Got shipping confirmation and tracking # from Google Checkout about an hour ago. No info yet, of course. CS says 3-5 business days. I'm hoping for this coming Wednesday.
I did the same thing about half an hour ago. I was going back and forth about getting the international version from negri but when I saw the Canadian version and the GIFT coupon worked I went for it!!
Looks like both CAN and Int'l models are pentaband. Why the difference in price? Is it because Canada already has a GSM model for sale?
I bought the Int'l version from Negri in the beginning of December, and it's great. Only problem is the vibrate function started acting strange. I sent it in for "international warranty" which is about 3-4 weeks. Any word on how long it will take to fix for the CAN model?
Congrats on the purchase! It's the best phone I've ever used (and I've used a ton!)

I'm assuming its just cheaper for them to import from Canada to NV than from the UK, and they got a better deal. They're on a limited supply sale as well, which could also explain it.

Honestly the only difference I can see is that they import this one from Canada instead of the UK. Other than that it should be the same exact device. It's just likely to have a different ICS build.

The canadian version won't be straight yakju. you can just flash it no problem. its a damn good price. Even better if you get $15 more off the top. Mine arrives tomorrow.

I really don't care about the stock because I root when i turn the phone on But what i am understanding from what u said is I can flash any stock on canada version. correct? I really like the price. this will save me at least 40$. The thing is I don't want to be behind with updates also if I want back to stock. by the way canada version is made in china not korea

Who cares where its made. its fine lol.
Yes, Just flash the stock images from google (guides all over the place). At that point your phone will have an unlocked bootloader and yakju software. Then you can proceed to root.

They killed the "GIFT" coupon on the CAN $595 nexus the day after they started the sale. I got it because I bought right after the sale started, but they announced on twitter early the next day they were killing it.
OP, if you can pick it up for $580 shipped I think that's a pretty damn good deal.

Like we said, GIFT is dead as of last week... The sale started Thursday evening and the coupon died Friday afternoon.
Can you get a warranty with any of them?

You can get a 3rd party insurance on it I'm sure if you want full coverage.
Negri helps facilitate warranty exchanges with the international Samsung factory warranty for you if you'd like. But that doesn't cover accidental damage or anything. That's just a factory defect warranty.

That one doesn't work for the Galaxy Nexus. As said earlier they killed that deal. However it still works for other devices.
