I have a 3500mAh extnded battery running juggernaut 4.1 with bullet and the battery is only a little better then stock (about 17 hours, 9 on standby the rest with heavy usage)...am I expecting too much, is the battery not working, or should I just keep using it and let it condition?
I've had the battery for about a week.

I'm lucky if I get 7 hours under heavy use with the stock battery, so I think the battery is working fine your getting more than twice my usage.
My phone use 4% on idle.
That meant it will die sitting idle in a day.
listening to music is 10% an hour. Just crazy.
Watching movie, down like 30% in 30 minutes.

So i started using faux kernel and Juggernaut 4.1. I had about 16 hours of battery life. Now my phone drops from 100% to 94% in like 20 minutes. Any help or ideas? Thanks guys.

since you're rooted, you can use cwm(ClockWorkMode) Recovery, go to advance and clear battery stats(battery calibration)... or you can shut off you phone, let it charge 100%.. takeout the battery for about 50sec(inspect the battery for leakage"which could damage your phone, if it's leaking" if it's leaking replace your battery), put it back, plug your charger, turn you phone on, while plugged let it show the 100% charge on the notification bar then you should be good..
I have noticed that my battery life drops pretty quickly if i am doing a lot of browsing, etc on the phone.
If its in standby it loses 1% approx every 7-11 minutes.

I think it was normal, all i can think of is you leave wifi on, weak wifi signal when screen off. BTW im just saying
Im having some battery issues as well.. except ive done the battery calibration through the die hard battery script and by wiping my batter stats through CWM. ive tried both of these ways then using the phone for about a week after ive done either. the problem is that my phone wont let the battery fully drain.. or even close, ill show to have about 5% left and ill check the remaining mV through the die hard script and it will have 3615mV left, which according to the the script, should be about 40% remaining. fully charged battery has 4208mV at total capacity does anybody know what the mV level should be when the phone is less than 5% and how i can fix this?? I am getting pretty good life out the battery usually lasting from 22+ hours but if this is right i should getting alot more.

I'm using stock ROM rooted..school is 8 hours, I take it off charge at 7:30 and use it until 3:30, by 3:30 my battery is usually around 45% but today, I came out of school and I was at 67%, I've done nothing different today except instead of leaving my phone in my pocket the whole day at school, I put it in my backpack 2 periods of school (2 hours in total)
The first 20% drained really quickly then after, it started draining slowly, I was really impressed, why might this be?
I'm thinking it overheats in my pocket and kills the battery for the rest of the day, what do you guys think?
go to your battery staus and see what's being eating your battery.
Also, how long have you been running the Stock ROM? It usually takes a couple days for the ROM to settle in and give you accurate battery readings.
Signal quality....

-Does keeping the phone plugged in via USB (when battery is at 100%) decrease battery life?
-Approximately how long should the battery last if the phone idles? If the screen is on 24/7?
-Are these batteries any good compared to the stock one?

1.) Plugging in the phone while charged does decrease the battery life as you can only charge a battery for lets say 1000 cycles or so.
2.) Battery life depends on how long you use your phone, your ROM so I couldn't say. But my phone with the screen on lasts about 8 hours (SGH-T989)
3.) Check the reviews, it has five stars so I would assume that the battery is pretty good.

Is losing about 30% battery life overnight (about 7 hours) with the screen off normal?

Ehh I wouldn't think so...unless something is waking it up every now and then like a app or something...I normally loose about 10% if that if I let it sit over night

Not at all. I would use a battery monitor app to see what's draining the battery because that's very excessive drainage.
I can't imagine how much it drains when you're actually using it...
what rom/kernel are you using?
I agree with what others here have said, but just to add a little something, I heard that for the best battery "life" its best to try and keep it between 20% to 90%. Don't quote me, I heard it on one of those YouTube tech channels, I wonder if that is true. I always thought that it was best to completely kill the battery and then fully charge it.

That's for a new battery. Only for a couple full cycles. Else it's best to charge when you hit 15-20 and charge uninterrupted to 100.

So every night before sleeping I turn Data/ Wifi off, Past few nights ive noticed there has been a 12-15% drain in 8-9 hours.
Battery before sleeping 30%(data/wifi off)
Battery 9 hours later 15%
Stock 4.2.2
No Intense Background apps.
Is this normal ?? I don't think 4.1.1 had such battery drain with screen off and no data/wifi.
Thanks,
so u basically(roughly ) have 1% drop an hour? thats pretty damn good if you ask me
mine is usually 10 hours with intense use and 30 hours with minimal use eg: at work

That's normal at around 30% battery left. Once it reaches 30 and below it really would drain that much even without doing anything. But if you start with 95% percent and overnight drain of 15% with all off, then there is a problem somewhere. I usually have overnight drain of 3% for 8 hours.

Thanks for the reply buddy, 1.5% an hour seems higher, but as mrm43 said i think its the cause.

Thanks for your reply, I had a feeling about what you just said. But I don't recall this happening before, I could be wrong. Will charge up and test tonight and post results.
Also, I'm noticing my phone getting warm past 1 week while normal usage( Web surfin+music) area behind the camera.
So just to post back, I charged the phone upto 85% and turned off Data and Wifi, Woke up 8 and half hours later and the battery was 79%. Which is ok I guess, assuming only cell radio was on.
Hi,
I have a note 7 and for the past couple days the battery has been abysmal. Averaging 3 hours of screen on time. Also, the phone constantly gets hot (especially outside) that it has to lower maximum brightness to keep the device from overheating. With the phone on standby, overnight with always on display OFF, I will drain 10% of the battery.
Do any other note 7 users get this? I even drained 5% typing this post.
Go into settings-->drvicr maintenance-->battery then app monitor to save power

I dont have this problem. Battery life is pretty solid for me. Getting more on screen time then my iphone 6s plus!
Same here, I'm at less than 2 hours SOT and at 32% left. That and keyboard lag issues have me kind of unimpressed so far. At least I have a 14 day return policy. I'll have to see how it lasts during this work week.
Sounds like faulty units. I'm at 6 and a half hours of screen on time and 35% battery life remaining, on a snapdragon model. No battery saving features active, WiFi, location services, Bluetooth, AOD, everything on. Even watched a movie at 100% brightness to see how it'd affect the battery life. Phone stayed pretty cool although out.

That's the opposite for me. My 6S Plus gets >5 hours of SOT, the note gets 3< hours.
Sounds like I've got a defective unit. Congrats Samsung Quality Control.
I get around 5h sot time but i also have bluetooth on and a few other things. I'm pretty happy
Right now I am at 5h 46m SOT and have 16% battery left. Not fantastic like the moto z force, but much better than my S7e I dumped after a couple weeks because of the horrible android OS battery drain.

Here's my battery life. I've had the phone since Thursday. It's close to what I got on my iPhone 6 Plus. This was with light gaming, Facebook, texting, Facebook Messenger, Reddit and Tapatalk. Not bad if you ask me. My brightness is on auto, I do use the iris scanner and the screen is in cinema mode.
PS: I'm on AT&T with the SD820.

Replace it sounds like a dud. I get 5 6 hours sot. I went 20 hours 30 minutes from a 100percent charge at 1am to having 23 percent left at 9pm. 5 hour sot. Another poster says he got 8 hours sot. By using the medium power save mode.

100 to 23% in 20hrs while the phone was into deep sleep? that sounds like a faulty unit

I actually have had much better battery life than my S7E. Its odd but I think the slight revision of Touch wiz fixed some things. I also put Facebook and Messenger to sleep because they are the absolute worst at battery consumption.
Its worth stating that in week one, the phone is still cache prioritizing, cleaning up its IOPS etc. Not worth measuring for a while. But I am skeptical because My S7E was great for a while too. Its the sammy curse. Eventually you just have to factory reset to get your phone back.
Sounds like you need to reset your phone and start again

I'm not having this issue at all. I navigated for 2+ hours with the screen at full brightness and didn't burn up that much battery. I wasn't tracking it but if things dont get better for you, I'd say try swapping it out for a new one. You might have a physical issue with your battery.
