Market/Facebook problem

Currently running CM7 stable release with the latest Gingerbread radio.
I am having an annoying issue with Downloading and installing apps from the the market in which i have to 'kill' the market once or twice then it will finally download and install, which is really annoying. This only ever happens to me with the latest CM7 whereas I helped my friend update from RC2/3 to the stable build and he doesn't experience this...what could i do?
Second (not so major annoyance) is the Facebook for Android app keeps FCing when i navigate through the app. I can browse my newsfeed without trouble, comment on statuses and such but as soon as i come out from there it instantly FCs!! I am using LPP (latest one) and i am aware that some users were experiencing issues not too different to mine recently, and its got me wondering if it's that?
I've already fully wiped and re installed the ROM and still the problem persists
Maybe a caching issue. Check the md5 sum of the rom you downloaded.
The Facebook app is like that. Because Facebook couldn't be bothered to test, the app FC's most of the time. It is annoying but it will take forever to update it because Facebook is ****. It happens to me btw.

Cool thanks mate! I've gone to using Flow Free on the market which is better anyways. It's ad supported but Adfree FTW?! I don't think there's anything wrong with the file as i used the very same .zip on my friend's phone...
For your market issues, it could be a caching issue. Post in the CM7 thread or have a look through it. You'll prob get a better response.

[Q] Netflix and Kingdom Rewind 3D...

Probably been asked before but I just flashed this ROM last night and it is great, besides Netflix. The resolution inside the app is squishing the text together. Any fix for this?
I have read through the development forum for the ROM and found things that did not work like uninstalling with root explorer and re-downloading from the Market. Thank you for your time.
ya ive also noticed this and made a problem for me i would like to know for a fix also its probably all the resizing but i really dont know...

Incompatible with your device

Forgive me if this had been adked or explained before... the search function in the xda app is only gigving me results for custom roms... no matter what I search for... but that's besides the point.
Lately there has been a lot of apps in the market that have been saying that they are incompatible with my device, but the work on my wifes phone (original cliq not rooted) and my moms gtablet (vegantab7rc1), I'm running a cm7 nightly ( I forget which one it was around the 1st of september) I have changed my lcd density to 200... would that be the reason why?
And insight would help, thanks

If the app can run on a Cliq, your phone will have no problem running it. I'm sure its something happening that the Market is identifying your device as a "Generic HTC phone" or something of the sort, and doesn't necessarily know the specs. I've flashed many many ROMs in my time and the Market identifies each one differently, I've just stopped paying attention.
The Market isn't stopping you from downloading the apps, is it?
The market prevent's us from downloading it.

yeah, if i side load it, it runs fine, the market isnt allowing me to download it, and according to my market settings... it identifies my phone as a tmobile g2... so maybe the market is broken...
Does your device by any chance have a different LCD density then the androids default 240? If so this is your problem. this happens with mine and my brothers G2, if the G2 has a different LCD density then 240 the new market, and only the new market (not the old one), will say some apps are incompatible. Try making sure you have the default lcd density set and reboot then retry downloading the app. The only way ive found to keep your custom lcd density AND be able to download any app is to revert back to the old android market.
I have the same issue. No change in lcd density. But any rom I use that is CM7 based has some issue with an app being incompatible. CM7 nightly said Facebook was not compatible. SuperCM7 says Evernote, MexDroid said Youtube.
I don't know what is wrong. I don't know if it has anything to do with the build.prop. I did change the prop to use Netflix. But I don't know if that is really an issue, since all roms seem to have this fixed and have there own build.props.
Over all, I am at a loss. Superwipe does nothing...factory reset did nothing. Any Rom that I've used has had some issues with compatiblity

the following two parameters in build.prop are responsible for the market identification
ro.build.description
ro.build.fingerprint
i used the latest stock rom values and it works very well with MIUI
Can you post the stock values please so I don't have up download the ROM
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Hold on... I'm downloading the stock rom and will extact the build.prop. I want to know too because I keep having to install Market 2.3.3 everytime lol! Its pointless to describe the solution without the full answer... sheesh!
Here ya go! Let us know if it works okay It's straight from T-Mobile USA Gingerbread build so it should work fine...
ro.build.description=2.15.531.3 CL82286 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=tmobile/htc_vision/vision:2.3.4/GRJ22/82286:user/release-keys
I didn't post the values because I don't know them for the G2 stock rom
the (stock roms) market identification for G2 and DZ is different and I only know the DZ ones

Has anyone installed PhoneLeash on I9000?

Hi - I am the dev for PhoneLeash ... and one of our I9000 users is getting the "your device is not compatible" error. PhoneLeash has gotten installed on most every device (including those SMS-but-no-telephony Galaxy Tabs, and even WiFi devices) so this is frustrating.
If any of you I9000 owners can please take a minute to try to install it, it'll be helpful to know if this is a device issue or app issue or market issue. Its a useful app too btw forwards SMS etc to email, you can reply, GPS location!
Thank you!
well it is possible for me...
Same here. I am able to use it on my Sgs I9000 rooted.
Thanks folks ... meanwhile the user who was having troubles got his issue resolved as well. I had sent him the APK for a previous PhoneLeash release (it just happened to be lying around in my Inbox), which installed fine, but now he was able to upgrade to the latest version directly from the Android Market! Huh! But whatever the reason, hope its another tool to conquer the "not compatible" problem.

Sorry to hear that ... if can spare a few mins to help me debug further, can you email me at support A T gearandroid DOT SEE OH EM I could try the same method (give you an APK to an earlier release and see if the market then lets you upgrade)?

Instagram crash issue in JB roms!?

This is like a serious problem for me, I can view, like or comment in any pictures but can't upload any pictures to Instagram.. when ever I try uploading, my device freezes and I have to restart it again . I have tried it using several JB roms bt no fortune any help for fixing this issue would be highly appreciated.. thnx...
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
I have almost the same issue, but my problem started only about two weeks ago, just like that, it worked without problems for more than a month before that - I use vijendrahs' JB rom 3.1, and after an update of Instagram, the app started freezing, and I've tried reinstalling, tried installing older versions, tried changing the CPU governor, wiped, nothing helped. :/
I tried disabling gpu h/w overlay in the developers option menu it helped, bt for some reason it automatically revert back to the enable state after I uploaded a single picture :s wired! ..have to try re flashing the rom... U could give it a try this way by disabling the h/w overlay..

Unfortunately didn't help, but thanks for the idea. I'll wait if it sorts itself out, if not, then I'll just use Instagram to look at photos, for the time being
same exact problem here !
I tried 2, maybe 3 different (JB)Roms, same problem
and I guess we should not contact(or blame) Instagram for this, right? ...they'll freak out anyways when you tell them that you're using JB on this phone
is it allowed to bump? ..... oh wait
