personally i dont see how the spare battery slot in this one can accommodate BOTH the GSM and LTE version since they are difference size batteries....im guessing it probably just works with GSM batteries, but who knows
first one looks like a for sure win since it looks like there is nothing that would make it not work with a case...anyone ever tried either of these?
I was under the impression that the batteries were just different thicknesses. If that is true, they should still both fit in the charging station.
I just bought the one with the spare battery charger as I have an extended battery on the way and no way to currently charge the back up battery besides a swap, I have the i9250, but as the previous poster said, the thickness shouldnt matter, both batteries are the same sized square, and thats all that matters
I'd definitely be interested in hear how you like the second dock...

I just order the first one i hope my phone fit in it since i have a case on mine, no need for the extended battery charger since i dont have one
www (DOT) ign (DOT) com/articles/2011/12/15/hands-on-with-the-verizon-samsung-galaxy-nexus
Didn't know I can't post outside links. Just replace the (DOT) with "." and it will show you a side-by-side comparison of the CDMA and GSM batteries.
The GSM isn't just slimmer than the CDMA but is taller too so I don't see how the extended charger slot could charge both.
Whoever has purchased it, please update on which battery it fits, thanks!
I ordered both so I'll let you guys know the results when I get em

The battery charger wont work for the Verizon model since the GSM have a differently sized battery...
I like the idea, but I would rather have a dock that takes advantage of the contact points on the side of the phone... I know that the GSM version has a car dock that uses that, but currently in the states we only have the crappy dock without the contact points. Seems like if the phone has it, accessories should be made to take advantage of it.
docks came in, both work with LTE galaxy nexus as long as you dont use a case (which sucks)
and yea just like i said originally, the LTE battery doesnt fit in the slot for the one with the standalone battery charger in it

yeah i got mine today also im sad it didnt work while the phone in the case
Which one do you prefer? The one with the clear plastic backing or the black one? Which supports the phone better, and is there an easy way to access the headphone jack on either?? Thanks!
Guys, has anyone tried the *first* dock on a GSM Nexus with a case on? I have a Samsung Genuine case (adds virtually no bulk)
Cheers.

Unless it's complete trash it's hard to beat the price.
It's a re-certified "official" dock (the one you could buy as a Sprint accessory). I bought two of them a while back. One works great, the data wires on the USB plug for the other one has just recently started to flake out. That's fine for me, it still charges and I only need data on the one connected to my PC - the other one sits on my nightstand for charging duties.

Any idea if it would work with an extended battery door? I would like to get a couple for work and home but I use an extended battery and it doesn't say if it will work or not. Any ideas?

It says on the ebay ad that it wont work wore with extended batteries.
"Please note: This docking station has been designed for use with a standard battery and will not work with an extended battery. Cell phone Not included."
OP, good find. Might have to snag one of these up.

I had heard it doesn't, but maybe you wouldn't be afraid to take a dremel to it for only $10?
just got one of these for 7.99, same thing I think. Charging seems very slow, any idea whats up?
The one I looked at was just the dock and no cables. Do I need the dock for HDMI or can I just plug in the cable to it and then to my TV?
Does anyone have a link to one compatible with the battery for the Verizon Nexus? I have an OEM extended battery, but I wanted to be able to charge my standard battery in case I need it. Anyone have any suggestions?
you mean something like this.
this one is for samsung batteries, and will fit most sizes with the adjustable slider, i'm using it for my Galaxy nexus, i'm sure if the pins are right the verizon battery should work too.
it comes in a package with a 1450mAh battery and comes free when I purchased the Gnex
this one on ebay should be ok, works with any battery, adjustable pins and slider for different battery size.

Thanks. I wasn't sure how different the two batteries were, so I was hesitant to get a charger that wasn't explicitly for the LTE version.

the one on ebay is a safe bet, works with any brand of batteries and has a USB for phone charging, but i'm sure the USB isn't powerfull enough, should be the usual 5V 500ma.
if you're not in a rush, i'm in china from 7-8, ill check them out for some better quality ones, and report back, as the ebay one is just a very cheap one in comparision to those that i've seen in china before.

Are you referring to Part#: SAMI405BOC? Verizon's (US) site states not compatible with the SGN but i'm sure it's the right one. There is even a review about it with the SGN. I had to switch my device to the Samsung Stratusphere to add it to my cart.
Might as well get the one that Verizon sells to ensure nothing goes wrong. I got it and enjoy it...very useful with phones like this. It comes with an extra battery, the external charger itself, and a splitter so you can charge your phone at the same time.

I have the battery charger Verizon sells. It's awesome. Charges regular and extended batteries with no issues. I got it for $25.00 online through my account with discount and free shipping. Came with a spare stock battery, so now I have 3 (I have 2 GNexus's).

YB307 cost USD 7.20
DC-IT007 cost USD 5.50
both can use for any phone battery, any brand, so you dont need to buy a desktop charger for every phone.
YB307 also has a USB socket to charge your phone or any USB device, connects direct to the mains through a 2 flat pin plug.
DC-IT007 connects to power through a nokia mini pin connector/microUSB/miniUSB, so you can charge using your PC or mains socket.

Hi, I was wondering, will a Samsung Galaxy S2 Battery Charger + Stand work with the Galaxy Nexus Battery? Specifically the 1750mAh GSM HSPA+ Version
The Battery Charger + Stand is something like this

I'm fairly sure it won't fit as the phones have different size batteries, but I may be wrong!
You could always just buy the one for the nexus from shimshop on eBay!

Yes, I know about that, it's just, in China, the S2 charger is way cheaper, so I was wondering if I can buy the cheaper one.
I guess not, so I'll just buy the Galaxy Nexus Charger, thx guys =)
One thing I don't get...why Samsung did not make that cradle in a way one can charge a phone too?! This way it's just an external battery charger with a place to rest your Nexus, right?
if you dont really care about being able to dock your phone get this charger instead, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-B...ccessories&hash=item4601b008bb#ht_5315wt_1163
it can charge most mobile batteries so no need to buy different one when you get the S3 or next Nexus.

Did you really? I have seen nothing on the availability of the back cover. Does it work with PowerMat?
I wonder if the inductive back works with the HP Touchstone?
Ya I read on engadget that they were available now and my Verizon store had 3 in stock. The official s3 charging pad isn't available yet but it worked fine with the Verizon/LG Qi compatible pad I have.

Damn. Was going to pick one up tomorrow to use with my touchstone. What a shame. Guess I'll keep waiting until Samsung released the official one. Hope they don't charge as much for the whole setup as Verizon is.
I think I read $90 total for the back + mat.... Unless it works differently than my DIY touchstone project.... why so expensive?

Just what we need, proprietary inductive charging.
How do they even make that work? Make a coil accept only a certain amperage, like .0895 exactly?

Its not an official Samsung Galaxy SIII inductive cover, but it is an official Verizon Galaxy SIII cover tho.
Verizon offer and has had them made for a couple of their devices actually.
Is it possible to get a picture of the underbelly of the battery cover. I know the Verizon variant has 2 additional pins near the sim slot that none of the others have. wondering which set of pins the Verizon cover uses. I'm assuming the lower pins making it useless for me anyways.
Samsung needs to hurry and release the real official inductive charging kit which works with ALL GSIIIs. Also an inductive charging car mount while their at it.

I dont think the cover works with any other Galaxy SIII other then Verizons tho. I'm thinking the back cover connects to the exclusive lower pins on the Verizon variant rather then the pin out all the SIIIs have. Sadly..
Hoping to get pics to confirm. Stopped by a few places today (well, yesterday) and none of the Verizon stores I went to had any.

The inductive battery cover from Verizon definitely connects to the lower pins that are exclusive to the Verizon phone. It also connects to the standard pins that are on the other phones. I guess it is so the Verizon phones will work with Verizon inductive chargers as well as Samsung chargers.

Yes, I saw that in the pics, it has contacts for both the VZW specific pins and the other "standard" S3 pins. It does look like it will work with both types of chargers.

I've been using one of the universal spare battery chargers you can find on amazon. They work pretty well for 1/3rd the price. There are a couple different brands, but they all look manufactured by the same company as far as I can tell.
Here is one with a bunch of reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Multi-Purpose-Universal-Charger-Battery-iPhones/dp/B0058XGN7I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367554301&sr=8-2&keywords=galaxy+nexus+universal+charger
The contacts can slide around so it takes a couple extra seconds sometime to get the battery in it compared to the official nexus battery charger but it works fine otherwise. Plus, this charger works with any battery with contacts on the top or side. It saved me in a pinch when we forgot our canon camera battery charger on vacation also. Well worth the 9 or 10 bucks.
Thanks a lot for the responses. I bought the anker fort increased flexibility
I also bought the anker and it has worked great for me. I do miss the ability to just pop in a battery and not have to worry about making sure the pins are aligned properly though. If I get an s4 I can still use it though.
