need help unrooting phone

I got a replacement phone from Sprint because my phone screen cracked. I'm trying to return it to stock, but now it won't boot past the fastboot/bootloader screen. I can't even get into recovery - when I choose that, it just sits there on the white startup screen. I used the unrevoked forever radio S-OFF/S-ON tool to get it to S-ON, and that's as far as I got.
Here's what it says at the top:
SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0000
MICROP-041f

What base are you trying to get to? Cause if your trying to flash a rom w a older hboot it wont allow that so ull need to flash into a hboot .93 , 2.02 or 2.10, ive had success that way... does it make sense? Lol

Yes, this is what you need to do. Download the RUU for 3.70... Use that one. If you are returning the phone anyway it doesn't matter if it is difficult to root. Is the S back on now though? Or still S-Off?
If S is still on try 3.29 ruu, if that does not work try 3.30...
After RUU there will not be custom recovery anymore so if S is still OFF after that you need to install custom recovery and keep flashing s-on until it says on and then run ruu again.

the phone was rooted . . . i'm trying to UNROOT it. will that work? the only 3.70 i see on search is a rooted version . . . and a zip. would i rename that zip to PC36IMG.zip and put it on the root of the sdcard or something?
i tried renaming the 3.7 RUU zip file to PC36IMG.zip, loaded it through the bootloader, no dice. i also found an EXE version of the 3.7 - it started running and then i got an error:
ERROR[170]:USB CONNECTION ERROR
weird - it makes a usb connecting sound when i plug it in, and from my command prompt it responds to fastboot (but not adb commands) . . .
next steps?

[Q] EVO UN-Root Help

I need Help ASAP.
I have tried everything to get my EVo Un-Rooted.
I rooted using UnrEVOked, and Cyanogen 6.1.2
I also made a backup with NAND succesfully.
Here is my EVO on the HBoot screen:
supersonic EVt2-3 Ship S-On
HBoot 2.10.0001
MICROP-041f
Radio - 2.15.00.11.19

Everything is Great with it being rooted.
I need to unroot to retrun to Sprint.
I did the S-On with UnrEVOked SON - and my EVo says "supersonic EVt2-3 Ship S-On"
I have tried downloading the RUU's and running them, but get the error USB cable issue.
I have tried to rename the RUU's to the "PC36IMG.zip" and booting into the HBoot screen.
It sees it and attempts to load it. Then after a reboot nothing.
I have tried several PC36IMZG.zip file out there and i get the error... saying the file is older.
Do I need to install HCT Sync?
Before I posted I have read posts for the past 2 weeks. XDA, Cyanogen, AndroidForums, AndroidCentral, etc.
I read the rooting for dummies, and appartenly I need rooting for Retards.
So my question is...Can someone post a step by step for my scenario, and help me please?
A reminder, I do have the S-ON
What files do I need and in what order do I apply them. The megaupload files don't seem to work.
Or what RUU file do I need.
Do I need to install the HTC Sync?
Here is my EVO on the HBoot screen:

Since you are already S-ON, all you need to do is run a RUU or flash the correct PC36IMG.zip. If you choose to run a RUU, make sure you install HTC Sync first. If you choose to use a PC36IMG.zip, make sure to remove it, and any other rooting related file from your SD card before bringing it in to Sprint.
Here is the most current RUU.
Here it is in PC36IMG.zip form. (You can't just rename a RUU.exe to PC36IMG.zip)
Which RUU do I need to run? I found about 7 different ones.
The one I linked you to, perhaps?
It seems all the files are linked t megaupload. Is there a different place to get them?
Im on my phone right now so those are the only links ive got for you right now. Whats wrong with megaupload? The files are good.

[Q] Still can't unroot my Evo's Unrevoked 3! Please help!

I am still unable to unroot my EVO 4G. It is rooted using Unrevoked3.
I have tried everything to unroot this device.
The main issue that i have is that when I start the bootloader it does not scan for PC36IMG.zip.
I have also tried to run the stock RUU installer.
Nothing seems to work?
Please ask any questions that will help.
My bootloader shows:
SUPERSONIC EVT3 SHIP S-ON
HB -2.10.0001
MICROP - 041f
TOUCH PANEL - ATMEL224_16ab
RADIO - 2.15.00.11.19
What version of Android is your phone running?
Are you sure the PCIMG36.img file is named correctly?
Does your bootloader show S-OFF or S-ON?
What happens when you try to run the RUU? And what version of the RUU are you trying to run?
Okay I see your post now that I posted mine. S-ON mean's your phone is essentially unrooted. If it is not seeing your PCIMG36.zip file it may be because it is not an official one. S-ON means it will check the signature of that file, and if it isn't signed by HTC it will not load.

It is running Android 2.2
And PC36IMG is named correctly.
Where could I find one signed by HTC?
I rooted with unrevoked3 also. I had to flash the s-on tool and that got s-on. Bootloader didn't recognize the PC36IMG.zip file in bootloader also and that ended up being an sdcard issue.
I formatted my SD card to see if it would eliminate that problem, do you think that would do it?
It was the SD Thanks guys!
If you have S-ON already, you just need to flash an official HTC RUU.

[Q] Need help, phone won't pass "HTC Evo 4G" screen, i have S-On

Okay so I've got a bit of a problem. My EVO won't get past the "HTC Evo 4G" Screen when I turn it on. I figured I would just unroot it and re-root it to fix the problem, so I found a guide that said to flash the UnrEVOked Forever S-On tool and then flash PC36IMG to do that, so I flashed the unrevoked tool, I have S-On now, but the PC36IMG that I have won't flash, it just says "Can't open /sdcard/PC36IMG.zip (bad)" so I'm assuming I have the wrong one. I believe the one i have is
"PC36IMG_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.zip"
which I thought was right because the radio number matches the one that is on my phone, but it won't work. I also tried the RUU with the same version, and that wouldn't work either.
My question is, is there some way I can get S-Off again through recovery and then just try flashing a different ROM to see if that fixes the problem? Or do I just have the wrong RUU/PC36IMG? Or am I SOL?
My Bootloader info is:
SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-2.10.0001
MICROP-041F
TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224-16ab
RADIO-2.15.00.11.19
It was a ROM issue that prevented your phone from booting, not a root issue.
Re-root.

I'm still rooted, I just have s-on. Is there a way I can get s-off through the bootloader/recovery?

Yes - just flash unrEVOked forever.
P.S. The reason that PC36IMG wouldn't flash is because you don't flash it in recovery - it has to be renamed to PC36IMG.zip and flashed through the bootloader (HBOOT).

Returning to Stock Help Needed

Hi All,
Returning missus Desire back to stock and have searched and found many guides..
following through, I'm basically installing the following RUU from .EXE file:
RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_122704.exe
The phone was previously on Orange and I understand there is no RUU for this.
Upon installing this EXE...it gets to the area about checking the phone and intialising and all I get everytime is an Error 170 USB Connection Error. It can't seem to see the phone.
I am on XP and have tried the phone booted in to its current ROM (ICS) and also under FASTBOOT USB but neither makes any difference...
Any ideas?
Many thanks...
Rich
You're missing proper drivers on your PC. Try to download and install htc sync or driver package from htc dev site and then to reconnect phone.

Bravo PVT1 Ship S-Off
HBOOT 6.93.1002
MICROP-031d

That's not recovery, that's bootloader. Below that you have meny loking smth like this:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
ERASE STORAGE...
You can use volume up and down buttons to navigate, highlight recovery and then press power to enter recovery.
If you wanna install stock, reboot your phone and let RUU running. My recomendation is to use 2.3 RUU since it's made for all versions of desire no matter of carrier. You can find it on htc dev site.

Well I have put back the stock HBOOT....
installed a RUU which now just gives me a white HTC screen and goes no further....
I downloaded the 2.3.3 correct RUU but it won't see my device and HTC sync won't install the drivers.
Any ideas folks?
Rich
Oh my BOOTLOADER now says this:
ALPHAREV
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT 6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
Radio 4.05.00.11
And also...within Device Manager my phone is being picked up as Android Bootloader Interface
Ok, this is the trick, your hboot has write protection and ruu can't overwrite radio. From your bootloader I can see you have old radio which won't work with 2.3 RUU. Of course RUU should overwrite the radio during install but it's not posible because of protected hboot...
You have to download downgrade hboot from alpharev site, flash it and you will have unlocked hboot. After that run RUU from PC and it will overwrite both radio and hboot.
But, you will lose s-off and root, so revolutionary again :-D
And don't worry about what's written in device manager, it's normal.

Thanks Nloo for taking an interest...
|I have already flashed Bravo Stock off the Alpharev site .... you can see in my post a change in the HBOOT information from Revolutionary to ALPHArev.....
If I try using the RUU it just says it can't find the Phone again.....USB error 170....
Any more help would be appreciated please...bricked phone!!

You actually don't want to read carefully, not stock bravo but DOWNGRADE that's the right one. After flashing you'll have this on top in bootloader:
ALPHAREV UNLOCK
not just alpharev.
Then after flashing reboot to bootloader not fastboot and then run RUU.
If RUU won't work you can try with rom.zip on sd card but that's a different story.
