DINC has no reception at all after S-OFF ??? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay I have an issue I havent ran across yet. My friends DInc is S-off, was 2.3.4 but
downgraded and then rooted, and put a new ROM on (Ice Cream Sense 1.3) and now
he cannot get signal from the radio whatsoever. It shows bars but no 3G, even when
he goes to place a call it wont go through. He is using the 2.15.10.07.07 radio and
still no luck. Did *22899 and *228 numerous times with no luck. Now went back to
stock ROM and still no reception at all. He has wifi connectivity though but thats all.
Any ideas ? Thanks in advance!

The only thing I could figure to work would be to RUU back to froyo and then reroot. The RUU should reset whatever bug there is and by going back to froyo you can reroot quickly with unrevoked.

[unrooted] same PRI 1.34

Ok, I decided to unroot to see if the PRI would go back to 1.4..I used the most recent RUU to unroot. I had to extract the RUU and rename the rom.zip to PC36IMG.zip push to sd and boot into the zip that way. Seemed to have success unrooting, but my PRI remained 1.34. Is there any way to get the PRI updated? If i found my MSL and did a factory reset would that work? Or think I can call sprint and play dumb and say I got a replacement from BestBuy and it has an older PRI than my first phone. Also will I get OTA's now? Think when Froyo is released it will update the PRI as well?
Thoughts?
Its been well known that unrooting does not give you back the 1.40 PRI version.
I don't see HTC/Sprint updating the PRI for FroYo but who knows... and yes now that you're unrooted, you will be able to get OTA updates again but on the same token, you're taking a gamble on never having root abilities again.
Man that sucks. I really feel my phone dosent perform like it did before root. Dont get me wrong, root has its perks but I would rather have my 3g speeds back.
I want to see some conclusive proof that the PRI is tied in with 3G speeds... I've yet to see it. In fact, my rooted Evo outperforms my friends' unrooted Evos most of the time by 50-100kbps...
The Evo just has a jacked up radio.
I unroot to factory stock 132.651.1 then i did automatically download until get 147.651.1. I did all updates and still PRI 134.003 and nothing. How i can fix to get 1.40?

another noob question :'(

well i finally rooted last week and so far all is well and i love CM6 and everything else about having root but there are just a few things ive been wondering and searching for that i cant find a straight answer for.
1. ive been reading that when i unroot my pri stays at 1.34 and doesnt update to 1.40. if i update it before i unroot does that solve my problem? or if i unroot then install the 2.2 official rom that is coming out soon will that also fix my problem?
2. rooting broke my 4g and i thought it was just cm6 but when i flashed a rom with working 4g it justs kept saying connecting to sprint will unrooting fix this?
3. and lasts i actually want to unroot because my phone is just acting a little crazy with all these roms ive been using nothing is 100% and i keep getting an error 170 and ive tried reinstalling htc sync and ruuing from fastboot and i just cant figure out what to do if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Try doing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715915
That should give you latest version with latest radios which might fix 4g problems. Did you flash latest radios before flashing CM6?
As far as unrooting you need to get stock 1.47 RUU and flash it. From what I read your pri will not revert to 1.40 but before you do this try the link I posted as that should make you completely stock with root. If that doesnt work I would also suggest you search for 4g fix, there are tons of threads on this. If all else fails you can unroot but it is much easier to troubleshoot your phone will its rooted. Just my opinion.
alright i did what that link said my phone is acting better but i cant tell if 4g is working since i only get it at my job my pri is still 1.34 just wondering if the pri actually affects things and if it will mess me up if unroot without pri 140 thanks for the help
Currently once you root your PRI goes to 1.34 permenatly. It shouldnt have any major effects on your phones performance. If yuo unroot your phone stays at 1.34 aain shouldnt cause any issues unless you try to exchange and find the exceptionally with it sprint rep.

[Q] Q: rooted 2.1 upgraded to 2.2 OTA...what PRI?

Background - I have been trying that PRI fix (both actually) for over three weeks now. Nothin' in my home town and nothing off of five different towers while I was in Atlanta last week. Run both the 786 and the 3282 a dozen times each time and off all those towers.
Question - If you were rooted on 2.1 and had the PRI of 1.34 AND you upgraded to the OTA 2.2 (Froyo) what PRI did you have at that point?
I have been unable to lock onto a 4g signal ever since I rooted and I used to get it pretty quick before. I can only guess that it is the PRI and I really really want to get back to 1.40.
Searching here and on google have not yielded any information on what happens with the PRI when moving to 2.2
Follow up - Now that 2.2 has been cracked, I need it for things like animated gifs and file uploads to forums I post to. Both those short comings were not revealed to me before adopting Android.

Your PRI gets rolled back when you flashed the older pc36img zip, unfortunately none of the updates update the PRI so you have to wait until someone can figure out how to extract it.
I'm not sure what you mean by cracking 2.2 for gifs though? I think cyanogen mod had animated gifs in 2.1 and the Evo should have no problems handling them with 2.2

Sorry, mis-communication, I didn't want to move to stock 2.2 until it had been rooted. I haven't found a cooked ROM that does what I need better than stock at the moment...but I do need root for getting rid of bloat, titanium backup, themes, etc.
That and it seems that Google has listed the file upload as resolved even though it is ONLY avail in Froyo at the moment, they didn't fix for 2.1.

3.26 (rooted) to 3.29 fails. Why?

Greetings all,
I am running 3.26 and rooted it using Unrevoked3. It is working great, including 4G here in St. Louis, etc. I searched for an answer to my question, but couldn't find an applicable answer. Here goes:
I have a good nandroid backup, and over the weekend, I tried to upgrade it using the 3.29 OTA update. The update failed, with the exclamation mark inside the triangle and the green guy to the lower right of it. Had to pull the battery, but it booted back up just fine.
Is the 3.29 updater failing because it sees root/s-off? What do I need to do in order to be able to get 3.29 on? Unroot and turn s-on somehow?
Thanks in advance, just trying to learn my way around.
-Rob
Well Rob when I did the update I was s-off so I know that does not make a difference. I rooted my phone the downgrade,unrevoked3, and unrevoked forever way. When the OTA came I put a stock ruu on my phone which probably unrooted it but kept the s-off. I then updated the phone then reinstalled the old bootloader and recovery soit was back to rooted. I don't know if that might help or not just thought I would tell you my way. Probably easier ways out there

No service?!?!

Downgraded the boot loader to .97 from .98. The phone was downgraded from 2.3.4 to 2.3.3. Tried flashing new ROMs and flashed the latest incredible 2 radio image. The back cover is on the phone but it still says no service. IMSI is unavailable. I'm completely stumped. Help me out!

Did the MD5 match? Sounds weird.
Hope it works out for you.

I ended up fixing it. Had to RUU the original gingerbread on. Turned on roaming. *228 to program then rooted it again. Working fine now.
Same issue
Ive switched to ICS 4.0.4 and everything was fine except the camera wasnt working properly...(Wifes phone) so that was a deal breaker for her and so I went to Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 and now she has no reception. I figured id have to RUU to use *228 but im trying to look around and avoid doing so. If I find a work around then ill come back and post.
Why ruu? Flash a stock based sense Rom like nitsuj stock, andybones, or my sabotage and use *228. No need to ruu for that.
