If i get an Unlocked Xperia Play 4G will I be able to use the AT&T $50 unlimited plan on it and will it use 3G or will it just be on the 2G edge? I'm a noob at all of this and I really want to get this phone without having to get it with a 2year contract. My original plan was to buy the unlocked and unbranded Xperia Play on Ebay and just settle for the T-mobile unlimited plan but I heard that the phone might not be fully unlocked and I'd have to do bootloader from the official site. I hope you guys are willing to help
AT&T no longer has an unlimited plan. I am grandfathered in on the old $30 unlimited plan, but they are penalizing and capping users such that you really can't use more than the $30 3GB plan anyway.

If you haven't already heard, T-mobile is now officially offering a new tethering plan for $14.99 a month with a 5GB monthly cap I believe.....with another 5GB available for $30. For those of us with rooted devices, can we still continue doing this for free? I don't want to get a surprise in my bill for using USB tethering...
nothing i guess the phone does not OFFICIALLY support tethering but i guess you can save off lower data plan
Hey guys, I have the GNex without data, and I'm on T-Mobile..
I'm thinking about getting data, but the data is $10 for 200MB, and $25 for 5GB Unlimited(Throttle after 5GB).
I'm on the Even More Plus Plan(Off Contract)
I am wondering if I can get the $10 GB 2GB Unlimited or the Preferred for Android $20 5GB Unlimited ..
I saw some people with those plan on forums, and I'm wondering if they still offer those plan.
I see the value plan on t-mobile is $10 for 2GB UNLIMITED, I am wondering if I can get that plan for Even more plus..
T-Mobile no longer offers the "Even More Plus" plans, so I'm not sure how they'd handle you trying to add things to your line.
I understand they don't offer the Even more Plus plan anymore, however, I can still add data plan via Web2go Upsell.
However, on their website, the value plan data is $10 for 2GB Unlimited.
I am wondering if I give them a call, would they give me that plan... $10 for 2GB Unlimited on the Even more Plus.
I don't see myself using 5GB of data($25), I would rather have 2GB Unlimited for $10.
And considering it's $5 for 1GB of data...
I am asking you guys because my Sister manages out phone, so I don't want to waste her time...
I don't think so. What I'm saying is because they're no longer offering Even More Plus, they're probably not very likely to offer you things that aren't currently normal upsells on your plan. They don't want people on the plans anymore, so they're not going to make exceptions to let you stay on it.
Aw... Thanks...
I really don't want to buy the $25 5GB Unlimited Data, or the $10 200MB Overage data.
I wonder if they have a $10 200MB Unlimited Data..
Why don't you change to one of the monthly 4G plans?
I'm on the (100 minutes + unlimited texts + unlimited data (5GB) ) for $30 a month.
I was on the Even More Plus with Unlimited minutes and texts. 2GB data.
I wanted to change to 5GB data. I was told by tmo I could not change anything on the EMP plans.
They said I could switch to a Value Plan but I would have to sign a 2 year agreement.
I went with the $30 wal-mart plan. I had some problems changing to this plan and keeping my number. If you want to know about those lmk.

I actually had no issue going from my EMP 500min plan to the $30 Prepaid. Just buy the activation kit online and activate, then port your # over from EMP.

I made the mistake of listening to the TMO rep.
When I called to port my number to my new line she told me I could just change my EMP to the $30 Monthly 4G.
Well, it worked but it took 5 calls back to them over 2 days.
Heh, I'm on a family line Even More Plus of 5Lines...
The value plan 100min/unlimtied text/5gb unlimited doesn't cut it for me..
Imma call T-Mobile up, and see what plan they can give me..
I hope they can give me the $10 200MB Unlimited , the $10 2GB Unlimited(Right now in Value), or the $20 Preferred android Plan 5GB Unlimited..
Update: Good news guys!
I called up T-Mobile, and went through about 4 Reps before I got the one that is able to do the 2GB Unlimited Data..
Now, I have 2GB Unlimited Data for $10 on a Even More Plus Plan..
All the other reps said no...
Not sure if this is the place to ask..
But I heard T-Mobiles new plan is 100 talk minutes, unlimited data and text for $30 a month..
I would have to buy the retail price for that plan?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also, how is there coverage is southeast?
I currently have Verizon and really isn't that great.
Hey guys, recently i bought an ATT S3 from ebay. I've heard that if i had an Iphone 4s with unlimited data plan, i could switch it over to LTE plan with a certain cap, but i would still get throttled unlimited data after. Is this true? and how would i go about doing so?

I just bought a Galaxy S3 two weeks ago myself and I upgraded from an iPhone 3GS. I had an AT&T unlimited data plan just like you and I was able to keep the unlimited data plan on LTE. Unlimited means unlimited but what AT&T does is throttle your speed down only after you exceed 5GB per month for LTE (for the rest of that month only). The next month your LTE speed goes back up for the first 5 GB ...and so on.
Now if you decide to give up your unlimited data plan and go with a tiered data plan then AT&T will not throttle your speed because you're paying for it.
So if i was wanting to get this kinda of data plan how would i ask for it?
Just explain the situation and ask for it. Had an iPhone with unlimited and want to switch to LTE unlimited. Pretty painless.

All I did is walk into the AT&T store and told them I had an unlimited data plan on the old phone that I wanted to keep on the new phone. They said okay. Didn't matter if the new phone is on LTE.
Note: Make sure you tell them to also include the texting plan (which is data but separate). I had an old 200 texts/month for $5 and they forgot to add that onto the new plan. Turned out to give me grief and hassle when I found out I couldn't text on my new phone when setting it up at home. Returned to the AT&T store to try to add texting plan back but they couldn't. They said it was an old text plan that was no longer available. Had to contact AT&T customer retention center to get that old texting plan added at the same price.
I currently have a Nexus 7 (2012) and am looking to upgrade because I'm a spendthrift when it comes to tech gadgets. (Actually it has the screen lift issue out of warranty and it looks like it's pretty expensive to get it repaired. Plus it's a good excuse to me).
I'm trying to decide between the WiFi and LTE models, and I was looking at the plans available with T-Mobile. If I try to add a tablet/"internet device" to my account, the plans are 500MB for $20 and 2.5GB for $30. If I try to add a new phone instead of a tablet, the price is only 500MB for $10 and 2.5GB for $20. Has anyone tried using one of the cheaper phone plans with a Nexus 7? I'd probably just deal with tethering my N4 rather than pay $20, but for $10 I might like the convenience.
You get a $10 discount adding a tablet plan to an existing T-Mobile postpaid phone plan. So you would actually be paying $10 for the 500mb plan and $20 for the 2.5Gb plan. And if you're an incredibly light user, you can get 200mb free.

That's great to know, thank you. I'll probably go ahead with the LTE model then.
I would still be interested to know the answer though since no unlimited plan is offered for tablets.

Actually, the new T-Mobile plans are unlimited-- you pay for the amount of 4G (HSPA+/LTE) you use, the rest is unlimited but throttled to 2G speeds.

Right, but 2G speeds are certainly not enough for even streaming music.
I don't have T-Mobile. If I buy the N7 LTE from, say BB or Google, can I just order the Tablet SIM card directly from T-Mobile and use it as "PAY AS YOU GO"?
I don't want a contract or pay the data plan every month (hence I am not buying directly from T-Mobile), just want to use the data when I need it.
BTW, is the N7 LTE use Nano or Micro SIM card?
