I have a question about contact screens. I am using the latest CM9 nightly from winner00 (1/29), but I have had this same "issue" with any ROM. Depending on how I get to my favorite contacts, I am presented with two different screens. Sometimes I see Picture 1 and sometimes I see Picture 2, what is the difference and why are they different colors?
Also, am I forced to have the terriblely large icons, or can I go back to a list of favorte contacts with only a small icon of their contact picture? Only seeing 4 contacts per screen is pretty odd to me. I prefer when there is a list (like on Nexus One) of maybe 6 or 8 per page.

Do you have any 3rd party phone/contacts app installed?

negative, I do not. It's also interesting to note that the menus for both are completely different. The dark one has a ton of settings under the menu that I can change. The white one has only 2. Very silly.
Maybe you should ask the developer of the ROM

the dark pic is the phone app, and the light pic is the people app. Both do the similar function but are 2 ways to do it.

I've got it themed up for Cyanogen goodness:

Not only do the shapes randomly change in colors, but any time you swipe across the screen or click an icon it creates a ripple effect like in a lake. I suggest trying it out if you're looking for a nice live wallpaper that is good for showing off.
will try it
Edit: cool I will keep this
Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking for the perfect wallpaper and found it.

Hiya!
I have a question for the first and the third poster, how do you change the colour of the topbar? (the wifi-icon, the battery icon etc) because mine are just a plain and boring white

We're using Gingerbread ROMs (i.e. CyanogenMod 7 or GingerVilian).
I've been using LightGrid Pro for awhile, it's the perfect update to good old Popsquares.
Of course, I rarely see it except for the lockscreen, since I can't seem to pull myself away from Slidescreen Pro as my homescreen.
where could I download this?

What you're asking for is warez, and it's not going to happen. I'd suggest emailing the developer.
Anybody find another dialer that works with our phones? I'm not a huge fan of the stock dialer.
Go contacts
Dialer One is pretty bad ass.

Trying out Touchpal Dialer by Cootek... I used Dialer One on my Nexus One and got on well with it but want something with a crisper UI...
+1 for Touchpal dialer.

ended up dumping touchpal dialer... Watchdog was flagging it as hi CPU even when the phone was idle... trying out GoDialerEX right now but have a feeling i'll find myself back with DialerOne... stock dialer is seriously lacking! why cant i click a pic of a contact after typing a few letters of their name and get actiuons like SMS, call, Open contact etc. the way I can with every other dialer??
Same about TouchPal... liked the crispness of the UI

+1 on this one, most of the apps they have are very good and user friendly.
go dialer/contacts is the best out, a lot of options/themes and stable
yup tried all 3 mentioned here and liked go dialer/contacts the most clean with options and had the functions I liked.

Yup... I'm running GoDialer EX at 200 as opposed to the stock 240 density and all is well... The green "call" butten is a tiny bit stretched but its tons better than the way the stock dialer looks at 200
Anyone know of a dialer like the one is sense...it was great at connecting pictures to Facebook and still only showing my Google contacts

Starting this thread because I have seen a couple things in the 2.3.6 version and they aren't mentioned anywhere I can locate, here on xda or otgerwise. Below is a pic of what I was updated with, stock here... the numbers differ from what Is listed on sprint.com

I never really had los problems so the only two things I have noticed are:
1. While scrolling (vertical) menus when you reach the end, instead of the screen "stretching" into black space, a graduated blue hue will rise from bottom or top of menu being scrolled.
2. A- Upon touching the lockscreen it sort of "hops" about 1/4" off the left side and a few mm from the bottom. As sort of a headstart?
2.b- on touching lockscreen it displays four small arrows. Obe each on sides, top and botton. N, s, e, w.
Any other new features you have noticed? Is there a list on the web that can be posted here please?
Thanks all.

The home screen page dots are no longer numbered.
From digging in SystemUI.apk, I think the fully charged audio notification is gone. The screen on and notification bar icon are still there.

I know... I just couldn't resist... 2.3.6 is an update that fixes some stuff that the user probably doesn't see... It's bigger... better than we could build it before (Anyone here know where that comes from?)
I recently upgraded to the Galaxy S3. I loaded on my favorite keyboard, Shapewriter, and was disappointed to see that it didn't fill the screen like it did on my other phones. Is there anyway to make it take up the whole bottom of the screen like all the other keyboards? Thanks for any help.

send a note to the developer... they might not be aware and just need to edit it for the larger screen...

It's no longer supported. I have a backup of the APK that I use to install it with. It's not even on the Play anymore as far as I know.

That's clearly not supported on 720p screen, never heard of the keyboard but if you find people that likes it a developer might be able to help

If I recall, Shapewriter was bought by Nuance and incorporated into the FlexT9 keyboard and now those features are incorporated into the latest Swype beta...
So maybe try that?
You can always lower your dpi
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I downloaded the Swype Beta. It's going to take some getting used to, but overall I think it's better than the default Samsung keyboard.
I prefer shape writer over all the rest I've tested. The automatic addition of a space after a period (.),saves hitting the space bar more often than deleting the space. The ability to retroactively capitalizewith one key does not require retype. The selection of typed words with one touch, allows the original selection list to be recalled.
I can't believe they did this all two years ago. Nuance now owns shapewriter.
I have a nexus 7 and Xperia arc running jj hybrid Rom. They both sync my calendar events fine but the phone displays all events as blue while the nexus has the custom colours. I have tried the latest version on the market, anyone know the issue here?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I tried everything today , despite the screenshot showing colours (on another device) , different colours seems too hard to achieve on the piece of crap Arc I have as well
I really need to upgrade my phone, using the nexus really makes the arc seem laughably slow.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Right , I worked out how to get the different colours - the new update allows the use of multiple calendar , you add them on Google Calendar on the web and then you use the option on your phone of which to sync with - they all have different colours . I first thought multiple calendars was a bad idea , but if you dedicate one to work and one to family , one to concerts etc etc etc , they will all display on the master calendar as different colours and focus on just family stuff for example - changed my mind , its very good .
Just for reference , Im a grown man and believe asking for thanks is a kids game . If the above helps anyone - please just shout a random number at the person nearest you to freak them out and make them ask why haha . Seriously - don`t hit it (no reverse logic included) .
This is Glass Calendar showing the different colours events , its the same in the Calendar app columns .
