Hey guys, my phone runs MIUI and Tiamat. Every time I would hold down the power button to select recovery, it would go into hboot. And if I tried going into recovery from hboot it would just go back into hboot.
I downloaded clockworkmod rom manager and tried getting into recovery from there and still no go.
What am I doing wrong?

Yup,what evil said above me,go to settings/applications/developement at the bottom you will see fastboot, uncheck it.
Add in, uninstall ROM Manager, and flash Amon Ra for your recovery

Have you tried reflashing your recovery?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app
The way they suggested to disable fastboot is for a stock system. I don't know if you can disable it that way with MIUI. I know you can't do it that way with CM7, which is similar to MIUI.
Do a battery pull, boot into bootloader, then try to go into your recovery from there.
Oh, and get rid of CWM. Flash AmonRa to your phone instead.
I encountered this today. Reflash recovery and then use rom manager to reboot into recovery.

Sorry for bump, very sorry. I had two threads open - one for the ROM what I was going to post a question for, and this thread because it's similar to my problem. I posted a Loooooong post in here by accident, and am trying to move it to the other thread. sorry for bump

Hey guys,
thank your for all your suggestions and sorry I forgot about this thread as I solved my prob weeks ago.
I just flashed TWRP and had to continue to hold the volume up button after the logo and boot a second time into recovery.
I flashed Cyanogenmod and now everything works just fine.
Thanks again.

Reboot bootloader, select recovery, restore a nandroid, or flash a rom. It wipes the kernel when you change hboot

3.0.0.5 allows you to flash gingerbread based ROMs, basically CM7. According to @cmsrc on twitter today however, there may not be a need to switch through 2.5.1.2 and 3.0.0.5 soon. No time frame on that though yet I don't believe.

This is big in two ways
first of all
Previously we were not able to create a Nandroid backup. A nandroid backup is a snap shot of our OS in it's current state. So if we flash something new, a font, a boot image, what have you we are putting 100% of our faith in that flash that it will not screw anything else up. Because if it does we have to start at ground 0 again.
second of all
the developer of CWRM said that he would make the 3.x flash-able via the ROM manager when the CM7 build approached an RC status. So that isn't to far off.
So now am I gonna be able to update my rom(cm7) with rom manager automatically.

Hello,
I apologize for my bad English at first.
I updated my 8gb sdcard to a new one ScanDisk Class 4 16GB. Everything is working OK except bootloader is not loading PC36img.zip any more. I found in other forum this problem is about SDHC card but I did not find any solution. I have full root, soff, etc, I have hboot 0.76eng. Any advice?
Update1: I flashed EVO_HBoot_0.76.2000.zip from amonra 2.3 without any problem but still same issue (everything working perfect but bootloader would not load PC36IMG.zip).
Update2:
I updated radio, etc using latest Calkulin's combo EVO_Radio_2.15.00.04.08_WiMAX_27925_PRI_NV_1.90_00 3.zip, then flashed latest hboot EVO_HBoot_2.10.0001.zip. Same result: All working OK but cannot load PC36IMG.zip.
Thanks in advance.
If you have the eng bootloader, you can use fastboot (from google SDK) to flash any .img you want. Like a recovery.
Example to flash a recovery via fastboot:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery-name.img
Enjoy.

I was able to flash amon-ra from inside CM7 using Terminal Emulator, so my problem is solved, but I am curious to know why I cannot switch from Clockwork to RA using Rom Manager on CM7, even from a fresh CM7. I tried everything, last time I wipe data, cahe, dalvik, all, flashed new CM7, installed Rom Manager from Market (not using Titanium) so should not be my CM7 nor my Rom Manager.

I'm not a fan of ROM Manager because on many occasions, it doesn't flash correctly and when it doesn't, amon RA is the tool that gets the device back up and working correctly. Besides, it is far too easy and arguably safer to go into recovery to flash, make backups and restore backups. As to why ClockworkMod "seem" to cause problems with CM7, I don't know.

By flashing an exe. from my pc from here http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Supersonic/ . Which failed. Also tried the original patch and PC36IMG.zip that I saved when I first rooted my phone from unrevoked. Beginning to wonder if I do unroot. Will I be able to root again? That would not be worth it just to have a splash screen. I would rather stay unrooted than be stuck stock. But Thank You for your help.
