If it was just a bad flash when you wipe the data/cache/dalvik cache and reflash apex it should fix itself...also keep in mind you need to flash 4.0.3 GAPPS immediately after flashing, before reboot
i didnt do a full wipe i only did a cache and dalvik wipe , i did install the 4.0.03 gapps right away before restarting.

You really do need to wipe data coming from a different ROM and/or android version most of the time. If you don't apps can and will crash
i came from the same rom just 2 versions older i think the bigxie 4-2 or something , im still having issues with the market it was working fine after i reinstalled the rom but now it keeps doing the same

Is there a working (non-themed) new market for CM6? I've tried a bunch of different methods, but none work. It always Force Closes.
I've tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877330
And even tried installing using these instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877510
But nothing is working, any help?
Are you wiping the cache and dalvik cache before you flash? I had no problems installing non-themed or themed versions of the market on CM.

Yes, I've done that and it did not work. I'm running a themed one right now, but find it hard to read and use. Is there a flashable version of the non themed market?
Looks like there is a flashable one

Uninstalled themed market
Cleared cache and dalvik cache
Flashed market, reboot
Force closed :/
Jeez, umm I'm kinda running out of ideas. Here's 2.2.6, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9756315&postcount=20
Maybe you have problems with the ROM itself. Backup and try a clean install of the ROM (wipe cache and dalvik cache), then before anything else try flashing a new market.

Yeah, I'm going to try out another new ROM tonight anyway. And if I don't like it, I'm doing a new, fresh install of CM6 because it has been hella stable and fast for me
Followup for anyone who might run into this problem like I did:
I found a flashable version of the 2.2.7 market.
Put it on SD Card
Went to settings -> Manage Apps -> Market -> Delete Cache
Rebooted into Recovery
Cleared Cache
Cleared Dalvik Cache
Flashed the new Market
Reboot
Success
So i just flashed cm7 the stable version, first thing i do is turn on my wifi, but when it obtains the ip adress etc, it keeps rebooting and turning off rebooting, and just keeps doing that over and over again. any suggestions?? anyone?
Have you tried reflashing it on a clean install? You also flashed gapps with it?
yes, i even wiped alll that thing like dalvik and all that good stuff and flashed gapps right after. this started happening to me with rc3 rc4 and now stable cm7, works fine with cm2
Did you flash a kernel with it?
whats that?

Well that's a no then. And the kernel is basically the heart of the phone operation. Different kernels do different things, but we can worry about that later.
Now I'd like you to backup your apps, then re-flash the rom completely, along with gapps.
If it is turning on Wifi only that causes the issue, it may be something with what is remembered in your wifi access points.
Delete your access point. Turn on Wifi and re-attach.
should i wipe dalvik cache also?

Yes; you need to wipe factory/data, cache, and dalvik cache. The flash the rom, wipe cache and dalvik, then flash gapps, then reboot.
just finished doing all that
Any improvement?
WIFI Sleep policy set to NEVER?
thanks!! it works!!! ok i have one more problem, this has been happening to me since i flashed cm7 any cm7, i use email alot but it doesnt give the right time date etc, each and every email date is 12/31/1969

When you flashed, did you flash the gapps?
And facebook app has been giving people problems...I think the word was to go back to 1.52 [the previous version before latest update] and you should be good.
I don't have a facebook, so no help with that app, sorry.

yeah i flashed it right after the rom....but ok no worries no biggie jus tryin to see if it could b fixed...also when i run the car home app n select "navigate" it tells me "no activity found"...whats wrong
You should always do a factory like reset before flashing a rom.
When I went to CM7 I did this.
Ran a Nandroid backup of Stock rom
Ran the GPS Fix for CM7 before going to CM7
Cleared Dalvik cache
Cleared Cache
Cleared Data
Flashed CM7
Flashed GApps
ReBooted
If you used TB to backup everything on your old rom then ONLY install the Apps NOT the data. Also I have noticed that a lot of people are just running a Restore everything from TB that may have something to do with it. I only installed third party apps like barcode scanner, Game Fly, PicSay, Directv. Do not restore anything that was a system app from your other rom.
And so far everything has been great.
ok so heres the deal...
i downloaded htcclay supercm7 (latest version) from ROM manager premuim... flashed it and rebooted my phone... after 3 seconds i noticed three major problems:
1- where is the status bar? oh wait... "status bar not responding" oh... force close issue :S
2- i'll try fixing the status bar issue by rebooting... WHAT?? i can't turn off my phone... it reboots direcly into "google" splash screen!!
3- lockscreen gone!!
any ideas on how to fix these??
thank you!
PROBLEMS UPDATE:
just got to cyanogenmod settings, system, update nofication... when i click it... the settings force closes
its frustrating!!
Wipe. In either hboot or recovery. Whichever one you can get into. Flash something more reliable. A stable cm build. I'd say the latest nightly, but I don't want to sound like a broken record.
Never again load something from rom manager's list

General rule of thumb:
- when switching to an entirely different rom (or if you switch to a rom by a different developer, e.g. bulletproof miui to osimod miui) it's best (in many cases necessary) to do a full data/cache wipe
- when updating a rom one can generally assume to get by fine if only cache and dalvik are wiped, in this case extensive wiping should only be necessary if you encounter problems or the OP specifically tells you to do so.
I have 6.1.A.2.45 version of ICS on my Xperia S and my question is that every time I start off the phone after I get a notice saying: Updating android: Optimizing # of applications ... This always happens to me each to start the phone. and it's annoying because it takes longer to start.
I have the phone rooted with CWM v2 for locked bootloaders
Its a bug, just factory reset if it bothers you.
Its a root, cwm or rom bug?

It depends on what have you flasged, moded lately. It is occurring at specific mods....
Hit Thanks if I helped
Its very strange because i only install the root and CWM, Nothing else more.

I noticed my phone did that when i "cleaned the dalvik cache" using titanium backup as the sony roms seem to create a 0kb file in the dalvik cache folder which tells the phone to to not rebuild the cache.

wait you optimizing them.........the system optimizes them on its own as if freshly installed
yeah it is annoying the more apps you have the more it takes times
I am noob at Linux distros but it seems like the prefetch file used in windows(cannt be sure about this )
you dont have to clear dalvink cache daily just do it when you find your phone laggy or heavy like you do with battery status when you find your battery life is not as it supposed to be

Hey guys,
I always have to pull my battery out multiple times on reboots, or after flashing a rom.
When I change roms, I do a fact. reset and wipe cache/dalvik, on updates of same rom I only do a wipe of cache/dalvik. I tried fixing permissions.
How is this caused ? It eventually boot up every time, just very annoying.
Does wiping system help ? I've read that most rom dev's include it anyway in flashing rom.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Rom: AOSP Paranoid Android 2.99 beta 5
Recovery: TWRP 2.3.2.1
Thnx for your help!

I haven't encountered this but I sometimes get bootloop when I flash Gapps without wiping cache and dalvik. Whenever I flash a new ROM, I do factory reset, wipe system, cache, and dalvik. So you may try wiping all of them and make a fresh install of the ROM then see if this problem keeps affecting you. Just make a nandroid backup in case this does not help so you restore your whole data easily

Hey thx for your suggestions!
I always flash a "new" rom that way though. But an update of the same rom, I "dirty" flash, which should be fine according to everyone.
No matter what Rom/Kernel I use, I still frequently have to pull the battery out.
It's never from locking up within Android. It just freezes/loops on the Google bootlogo.
I once wiped everything, even the storage space, and it helped for a little while, but did not make it go away for good.
Could it be related to certain apps ? Maybe PGM or Seeder or smth ?
All input welcome
