Hello,
I would like to flash my Xperia Arc to have a better battery life & much functions.
I read some things...
- DooM Kernel -> What does it do ? Just permitting the Overclocking? And DownClock/Undervolt ? It is a good idea to flash my Xperia to it to gain Battery/Perfs ? Which version take ?
- Baseband Patches -> Recommanded with DooM Kernel. It's risky, isn't it ? How can we fallback to the stock baseband is case of problems ?
- What's the best ROM ? Their's a lot. Cyanogen 7.. Xperia Mod..
I need 3G, WiFi, Camera.. FM is possible.. ?
Thanks !
Depends on the user.
But DooMKernel is great and saves battery when your device is stable with undervolt

Thanks.
And what about Baseband Patches?

Nothing risky about that. You could easily change your baseband again using Flashtool.
Thanks.
I just saw that I can't use the DoomKernel with Cyanogen since it's a bit buggy and DoomLord is working on it.. I've try differnts things.
Thanks!

DooMKernel for CM7 is currently on hold.
But afaik DooMLoRD is also a FXP member and integrate some of his features in FXP's kernel.

Try 36 Baseband. I'm using this with Arconium 6.1 + Doomkernel and i have only 2% battery drain per hour on idle
Hello,
I installed DoomKernel + Xperia Mod + BaseBand 36 and I saw my battery drained like hell.. How can I solve it ? I set up 184Mhz-1Ghz & -100mV.
Scheduler: minmax & sio for I/O. What's the best ones for Battery ?
Thanks!

Hello. Dont forget that after install new kernel usually, battery drain lots on first charge... Try recharge when almost over and see if still happens. If still continues, you can calibrate your battery
Hello,
Thanks.
I'll google it (Calibrate)
maybe you should try this:

All gingerbread roms are stock 2.3.4 with the developers theme and a few tweaks/scripts already installed. Most roms won't affect battery life, what you need to do is install a custom kernel i.e. doomlords which will give you a performance and battery boost.
EDIT- Also some apps may have been added/removed.

In this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176502
build #3003 is the best atm:
http://icxperia.com/doomlord/play/dk-13/PLAY-GSM-DooMKernel-v13-3013_boot.img
Spent a couple days on TrueAncestor and it's fine but the battery life drains a little bit than stock
I liked JokaWild 3.0 with DoomKernal 3013.
which rom is best ICS or GB (battery life & performance ) ?
Original Xperia S Rom
Try this:
It´s GB
I recommend to use Doomkernel v.18 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22686791&postcount=5
And Baseband 70...

Better is v22 doomlord xp
Wysyłane z mojego LT18i za pomocą Tapatalk 2
I only use stock kernels so compared to GB I think the official ICS release has slightly better battery life. With moderate use I could easily get 40 hours out of it, probably a lot more if I turned off Timescape updates, etc.
---------- Post added at 01:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:08 PM ----------
BTW some custom ICS kernels are based on the beta source release and may have issues with battery life. YMMV.
Not for me

If you have a locked bootloader, you can only flash this rom made by zdzihu to solve the 0% battery iussu: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465702
If you want another rom you have to unlock it. If you have Windows, look at the second post doomloard has made it working for windows
Arconium ICS all the way..
I think all depends on user needs.
I have now latest Doom kernel with JJ Hybrid (latest versions of both).
I also recommend ArcKnight Kernel with Mooded ROM
I am not a big fan of Arconium (the feeling of stock ROM is too high) and MIUI (the home launcher does not have the rotate function, that is a must for me, and without the Home.... there is no MIUI...) - but these are my personal choices.

I think that you can only get something like that with no data and no wifi. I could not get such rates neither on GB or ICS. And it depends a lot on the applications installed (I have about 30), the widgets used, LW, etc...
I admit I am a heavy user, the battery stands about 8-9h.
I got used with that, for me the end-user experience is more important

I'm using Arconium ICS with doomkernel and it works like a charm. It is super smooth. I also use IncrediControl for undervolting to extend battery life.

i wouldn't recommend ncx kernel, that gave problems to some users here... such as non rotating phone, g sensor gone (fixable)

how do I know if i installed the KERNEL good ?
---
Sorry for this questions but .. I had a Sony xperia S and I'm a flashing MANIAC, because I change my roms like 10 times a day sometimes (at least 2 times) and try dif kernels..but for example the with the sony xperia S I only had to to the fastboot flash boot boot.img, at faux it says after the kernel flash that I have to install a custom.zip file...so I flashed that one to..but I don't know if I installed ok the rom . THX very much for you help guys.

That might be the problem to your bad batt life, the kernel has to "adapt" it will be better after a couple of charge cycle. It's not instantly the best batt life you will get. If you try multiple kernels a day it will not improve like that. Run a kernel and a rom for a week and you should notice a difference ! (I wrote this because i saw another post that you are a flashing maniac )
And yes kernel is flashed oke. Paul is the name and faux the kernel. I also answered your question in the faux thread

Should i flash the LUPUS 14 (Latest kernel) or should i use the stock ICS .587 kernel?
Will lupus make gaming faster and lag free?
Or it does nothing so?

I am using Lupus v14 since they release it,,i like it qua performance very good and battery life is upto 12 to 13 hours its more than enough for me also alot of tweaks example zram, usb oti, verndor options, network optimizations, defend against arp spoofing , micro sdcard speed.
so go on and flash it and try it i think you will like it.
