...download calkulin's stock rom once downloaded go to where you downloaded it on your computer double click the zip file to open it up inside the archive manage open the system folder open the app folder scroll down to touchwiz30launcher.apk...thats the file that controls touchwiz and the file you are replacing...
once you have this open, double click on whatever calk rom you already have downloaded whether it be 2.8.1 regular or deploted...if you dont have the zip downloaded to your computer downloaded again...follow the steps i have before to get to the same location... open the zip goto system goto app scrool down to touchwiz30launcher.apk the files are named the same but calk altered the apk file internally... extract that file
go to where u extracted the file copy it into the stock rom and replace the already existing file once completed close the zip and put the altered stock rom zip on ur phone and flash as usual...
when your phone boots up it is going to look like the old touchwiz with the four buttons on the dock bar... open your app drawer click on the menu button click on view type and change to customizable grid...click on the menu button again and hit edit click on whatever app u want and drag it down to the dock... click on menu button again then view type and change it to what ever you like
if you followed my instructions ur app drawer will be 5x5 and will be able to have 5 buttons on the dock bar in a stock rom

Great thanks for the info. Do you think I could extract calkulins rom, transfer the tw30launcher.apk to my sd card, replace my current tw30launcher.apk using root explorer, then reboot?

That's exactly how to do it. After reboot simply drag a fifth icon to the dock and you're done

Hi everyone,
I'm having a few questions regarding the theming of framework-res.apk on Android Revolution (No-Sense/Sense)..
After I pull the .apk, and decompile it, I edit the images so that the .9.png files stay intact. Then after that I compile the entire .apk and use WinRar to only push the images to the origional framework-res.apk..
But everytime I flash it I get bootloops and it won't boot into Android, any idea what I do wrong in the proces?
Thanks in advance!
if your using apk manager when you recompile the framework-res.apk it will ask you if its system app click yes then it will ask if you want to keep signature also click yes then you will have to delete the icons you changed in the keep folder then press enter in cmd window
it will compile and be called unsignedframework-res.apk rename to framework-.apk then open the rom using winrar (DO NOT EXTRACT) then just drag and drop the new framework-res.apk into the framework folder click ok let it do its thing then close winrar drop it on sd card and flash

Or do what i do, make a copy of the zip file then extract the files you want to view, put them in a folder, then the icons you wanna swap put straight into the orig zip folder in there place, this method works for me fine & without any bootloops

I find it much easyer this way. Can i ask you a question if you know abit about framework modding can you see were i have gone wrong here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195549
I can live with it but i would rather change it to a light gray or a different color? Any help would be very nice & not had a reply about this yet? Can you help?
i had the same issue and i found it easier to update the old framework and overwrite existing files. once you have completed compiling your new framework APK extract the contents and copy into the old framework... and that seems to work fine
I just installed the Kingdom Rewind Sense 3.0 Rom which is extremely stable. However it says 4G for the Data icon. Does anyone know where I can find the 3G icon that comes standard on the Droid Incredible 2? It looks alot different than most of the other phones data icons. Thanks

Download one of the Incredible 2 roms and go to /system/framework/framework-res.apk..All the images you need are buried in that apk
Nope. The correct one is in SystemUI.apk. I can make you a mod if you upload ur systemui.apk. I'll give you the new one.
But would i flash the whole task bar or just the 3G icon. If so, how would I extract just the 3G icon and it would it be a zip or .apk file?
How do I do that?

Once I have that app then what do I look for?
Part 1
1. Download this zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?4cwpdod5ycxq5fb on your computer
2. Unzip it
3. Copy files to your SD card
Part 2
1. Download NinjaMorph
2. Select New project>system>app>systemui.apk
3. Let it do its thing
4. Go into res>drawable-hdpi
5. Find all the files that have the old 3g icon, and replace them with the ones in my zip. All the ones you need are in the zip. So, in other words just find the files with the same file name as the ones in the zip. Tap on the file you want to replace and select the file with the same filename that came from my zip.
6. Go back to main menu of NM.
7. Click Finish project, select systemui.apk then yes, then no, then no
8. Hot Restart
Hope this helped feel free to ask any questions.
Looks like nyterage made you a flashable in your other thread, but oh well.

Nice write-up, sorry OP I was at work so I couldn't answer your question in full.
Is there a way to find an icon from another ROM and use it instead? Where would it be located in the system files?
Is it possible to teh change the icons of my apps if I am running on runnydroid 4.0? For example, if I wanted to use icons from (http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/icons/?q=android#/d3aiidb) how would I do that? Thanks.

get the apk from your phone (you can navigate to /data/app and copy it to your sd, or you can use "adb pull /data/app/NAMEOFAPK.apk")
add .zip to the end of the file name so it should say NAMEOFAPK.apk.zip
open the zip and navigate to the res folder
look through all of the "drawable" folders and replace any of the icons you want to, making sure you name them the same.
remove the .zip extension
you might have to sign the apk for it to install properly, have a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997180
now uninstall the old app from the phone, put the new app back on your phone, install (put it on sd and navigate to it and click install, or use "adb install NAMEOFAPK.apk")
i hope that helps!

So after much tinkering
I managed to inject an emoji font into CM9
I am now able to see iphone peoples emojis (in black n white) in ALL apps
On the latest CM9 Nightly for Maguro
I would asume you can do this on ANY AOSP rom and its REALLY REALLY EASY!!
I couldnt manage to make a flashable zip from the files they kept failing trying to flash in TWRP
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download this zip:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/t9ge0djys3wlean/Droid.zip
2. Install 7zip
3. extract the Droid.zip to a folder on your pc
4. Open your CM9/AOSP/AOKP zip in 7zip (dont extract it, just right click and open with 7zip)
5. Navigate to /system/fonts in the zip (Double click system, then double click fonts)
6. Open the folder where you extracted the contents of Droid.zip
7. Drag and drop EVERYTHING from the Droid.zip into the fonts folder
8. Click YES when it asks are you sure you want to add the files
9. Once it finished adding to the zip archive close 7zip
10. Copy newly Emoji enabled rom to your sdcard and flash as normal
11. Profit!!
Credit goes to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1093197

Just got a Transformer and I been tinkering with that.
So I have tried it on a Sensation with a Sense rom, Transformer Tablet with stock rom, cm9 and aokp, Galaxy nexus aokp and cm9
And it worked in ALL of those
Jellybean actually has it included though
i'm on jellybean stock and i don't see any emoji -_-
Just installed HenseMod 7 and it has no screenshot option on the power menu. Does anyone have a link to download a flashable mod for it?
Just get screenshottr or equivalent from the market.

Already have a screenshot app, haven't installed it though, would prefer to use something more built-in.
Use this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26170987&postcount=63
Just replace those files with some file manager(Total commander) and add attached two lines to build.prop. Reboot.

Assuming the APK goes in /system/app, the .so file goes in system/lib?
If so, just tried that, modifided build.prop and rebooted and... no screenshot option.
You did it right. This dont add option to power menu. You must press power and home button. POWER button + HOME button = screenshot.

Still doesn't work. I would prefer the screenshot option on the power menu. I have seen a thread where you have to decompile a couple of files and edit them, recompile and overwrite them, and then reboot... I just wondered if there was a flashable mod that will install via CWM or similar.
Maybe it doesnt work because of HenseMod. I am using it on stock ROM without problem. Did you mount system to write and set RW permissions ? Files must be replaced correctly. Look into build.prop if it contain necesary lines for screenshot service.

Yes, otherwise I couldn't have overwritten the files in the first place. The lib file existed, so overwrote it. the APK did not exist, so added it to /system/app. Build.prop did not contain any lines for screenshots, so I added the single line from the text file (the first line is just a comment and not needed). Rebooting was normal, but there was no change in functionality afterwards... pressing Power + Home did not do anything.
I think ROM must contain this APK file. In stock ROM this APK file exists. I just replaced it. So this is a problem, probably. If HenseMod do not contain this APK it shouldnt work.

The APK wouldn't work with the package installer either... so its definitely meant to be just placed in /system/apps.
On another note, I've managed to grab the APK for screenshots from another CM7 ROM, and it has installed, but no new menu options anywhere, nor is it visible in my app drawer. Link2SD lists it as installed though. Also put the screenshot binary file in /system/bin just in case it was needed, but nothing has changed there either.
That cm7 apk wont work because it needs to be hardcoded in the framework.
Just use a market app, way easier.
Ask tigger for help if you cant get his screenshot script to work.
Btw: i wont add id in, this rom is finished, no more support for it.
Im busy on other things.

No worries, its working now, not sure why cos I did exactly the same as before. Oh well. Great ROM!

strange but wildfire s has screenshot ability.you no need to overwrite apk or lib.
just add build.prop and it worked.
i dont know why htc dont just add two lines.because of that we had to suffer long time for this inbuilt feature.
