Maybe an odd question.
Is it possible to have the slide to unlock screen available if you use a patter to unlock the screen?
I know if you use a pin the slide to unlock still shows.

Not on an aosp rom, no. On a sense rom you can. Just remove the htclockscreen.apk, and you'll be left with the vanilla unlock screen. If you have a pattern enabled, it still comes up after unlocking the slider. (Again, only on a sense rom)

I agree. I like having the lockscreen and pattern unlock. That way I can use music controls on the lockscreen, and still keep my phone locked with the pattern.

I'll see if I can't get it added as a feature request for CM.
Try widget locker. Any widget you can add to the regular home screen can be added to the lock screen, including music controls, etc.
I have mine set up such that all the apps I normally use are available from the lockscreen. This way, don't have to multiple tap to get to them.
Don't mind the duplicate calculators..

Does that cause any lag? When I tried widget locker a long time ago, it lagged. My phone on wake up.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
The only lag I notice is when booting, and possibly the first wakeup after sleep after a reboot. There after, it seems to wake up relatively fast (1/2 second?) Is it an instant wake, no, but I can live with waiting a split moment to have the functionality of not having swipe then tap, or swipe then tap twice to get to something.
Like you, I tried it some months back and thought it was a piece of garbage. I was reluctant to try it again, but got spoiled with CM7's multiple sliders on the lock screen. Having returned back to sense for other reasons, I missed that functionality.

Thanks for the response. I may consider giving it another try.
If you plan on using this with cm7, keep in mind, actual widgets on the lock screen only work with the standard system theme. With other themes, the widgets disappear after a reboot.

It's stupid little bugs like this that annoy the crap out of me. So much for final I can't stand the green, so I just have shortcuts on the lock screen. In fact, I could almost tolerate the green, but it changes the theme of the status bar pull down widget to a light grey instead of a more black.

Yea, I saw that yesterday.
Hi I love the new "slide" lock screen. I love sliding the round "thingy" to unlock the screen or to get to the camera. I used to use the locker widget on my sgs2 but I want to stick to stock android as much as possible and getting rid of all those "addons" is a joy ;-) now the only thing that bothers me is that I can't lock my lock screen with the "slide" lock screen and put a pin in case I loose my galaxy nexus...(I know that sound cheesy) Can someone give me a hint? I do not want to use an extra plugin for this simple feature to work...
Cheers,

If you use an app like WidgetLocker you can set it up so that widget locker is your main lockscreen and you can make it look exactly like the stock lockscreen. Then if you enable pin unlock you can make it request for a pin after you unlock with widgetlocker

I'm confused here. Blur did this on my DX and it drove me crazy because no functionality from the slide lock screen other than vibrate adjustment. Does the OP want to have the slide lock on top so that it's possible to use the slide lock features on ICS? I would imagine with that a pin lock below, those features would still require pin lock entry. Perhaps I'm confused with the work flow that the OP wants.

Thank u for the time you have taken to write this help full comment.
Hi to all and thanks for your feedback. I think there is some need to better explain the reason I would like to use the swipe to unlock feature and at the same time have a pin lock.
I need a quick way to access to my camera app from the lock screen. I take a ton of images this way and I love the feature of the iPhone where you can take images from the lock screen very quickly but u need a pin to enter to the springboard. I hoped that this would be possible with stock android. As I asked in my first post I don't want to install the Lockscreenwidget. It has way to many options and some times it does not work. So now I hope that my intent is better understandable.
Thank you very much

I figured that's what you meant. Yeah, it would be a nice feature if you snap a photo or adjust the volume without entering the homescreen. Alas, to my knowledge, that functionality doesn't exist with a PIN. It's the app market for you my friend, and maybe Seekdroid in case you lose your phone and want to wipe it (assuming you are paranoid about security).

Is it possible to have the phone NOT automatically go to the passcode screen when the screen is turned on? I really like it when you can do an action and then get a password prompt. Like the iPhone (slide to unlock) or when the screen just turns off and (in stock) you just slide the screen.
What? So you want a lock screen over a lock screen?? Or why not just take off the passcode and just keep the stock lockscreen?
Sent from Flip's SGS2
I want the passcode, but i want to use some sort of gesture to get the prompt for the passcode. I'm not really sure how to explain it other than its like the iPhone's Slide to Unlock.... You slide the bar and then it asks you for the passcode.

Its a preference thing. I understand what he means. It would be like the HTC phones. Pull the ring and them you get to the password screen. I've been looking for a way to do it too but so far I think the only way is if you get an app like widgetlocker and it gives you different types of them. There's even something similar to the iPhone one.

Sorry but I find that pretty dumb. Why in the world would you want an extra lock screen just to get to the pin code screen. I can't imagine why anyone would really care about this.

I'm looking for a Galaxy Nexus rom that can be set up to behave like this:
When I turn on the screen, I should get the slide-to-unlock screen. So a single swipe would unlock the phone.
BUT if the screen has been off for more than 10 minutes, AFTER the slide-to-unlock screen I'd like to get the pattern lock, so I have to draw my unlock pattern to unlock the phone.
That means I'd get two lockscreens after each other when the display has been off for more than 10 minutes, but just one lockscreen if the time was shorter.
(This is exactly the way in which HTC Sense worked by default on my old Desire.)
Im currently running rooted stock Jelly Bean, and I'm using Tasker to implement this behaviour. But this is not the most elegant way... so I was wondering if there is any rom that can be configured like this WITHOUT using Tasker...
Interesting request. I've got Tasker setup so it will disable lock pattern while I'm connected to my home wifi. Does the trick for me.

So far that I've seen, no ROM does this by default. You need to download an app like go locker or widget locker. That's at least what I was told. I posted the same topic here a few days asking if it was possible to do on a system level w/o an app. Only real answer I got was that, yes it is likely possible, but hasn't been done yet.

Ive actually done the same, in addition to my 10 minutes delay.
Still, the task sometimes just doesnt work and the pattern lock doesnt get reactivated as it should... not sure why.

So Ill stick to Tasker for now I guess.
Problem is, it only works reliable when I set the Tasker task to "keep device awake", but then it just eats up the battery...
Most of the time, it also works if the "keep device awake" setting is disabled, but not always...
I wonder why Android doesnt offer this by default, as HTC Sense did. I think it makes perfect sense, since it combines the usefulness of the quick unlock actions (launch camera or google search from lockscreen) with the security of a pattern lock.

+1. I like being able to unlock straight to different apps, but don't want to sacrifice security to do so. Hopefully we start seeing this implemented into ROMs soon, or at least an option to check, in order to allow for it. Thinking about purchasing widget locker until then. :/

Yeah but then I would only have an option to unlock to certain apps while home. Where my brother could pick up my phone and do whatever he wants with it if I happen to set it down. Just as well, if I am out and about I will only have a pattern unlock and I can't open to anything but the homescreen. I want both all the time. Would be nice if I didn't have to spend money on widget locker to do so. Go locker is too much, everything GO is too much. Too over the top. From what I remember go locker always lagged on every phone I used it on too. It's not really that odd, or difficult of a request I'd think. Especially since it was stock like that on gingerbread. Guess y'all forgot since you had ICS and JB for so long. I on the other hand just got my Stratosphere (2.3.5) replaced with this and it was stock on that phone.... Also not that it matters, but what's with the little copy pasta there lol?
Just to update the OP and whoever else this may concern - this is now incorporated into BAMF Paradigm version 2.2.

Delayed Lock works like that!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=955092
I was given Widgetlocker by a friend (He gave me a 10$ Google Play Gift Card) yesterday. I noticed that Widgetlocker doesnt have a Pattern or Pin Lock option on it, and I get my stock lockscreen on my Galaxy S3 immediately afterwards, which seems incredibly redundant.
Don't get me wrong, the application is great, and I haven't had any issues aside from this so far.
Is there any way to force Widgetlocker to use a pattern or pin lock? Or alternatively is there a way to add a camera shortcut on the stock touchwiz lockscreen?
You probably have to disable the stock lock screen for it to not show up after, or maybe a setting on widget locker, and I think the only way to get a camera shortcut is to use ripple on stock lockscreen

Well that bites. I suppose I will live without it, Its not like it takes me more than 1-5 seconds to draw my pattern/pin anyway.
Its really like that for a reason.
If you can access the camera w/o using your pin/pw/pattern, it makes using the security features pointless.
From camera you can open gallery/messaging and from there you can get to your contacts and dialer. So if someone stole or found your phone they'd have unsecured, easy access to most of your stuff.

I use lightning launcher ultimate (which has lock screen) and after clicking an app, it displays the stock pattern screen, then takes you to your shortcut, thereby security is still useful, choppy!

Actually WidgetLocker works this way too.
Enable pin/pattern on phone and ensure the option in Widget Locker to disable the stock screen is not checked.
Completely remove the swipe to unlock button and don't replace it. You'll have a blank WidgerLocker lock screen with a clock.
Long press and add apps and widgets. Change security to lock screen immediately. Power power button. Click a widget on homescreen. You'll be prompted to enter the pin/pattern! You have access to all your apps on the locker screen, with pin/pattern security simply by disabling the slide to unlock button. You're welcome (albeit months and months late.)

I realize this thread is old but I feel compelled to contribute my .02 for the benefit of those like me who's search for help on this topic leads them here.
It seems to me the OP is simply pointing out the fact that Widgetlocker doesn't offer a PIN or pattern unlock feature like those found in most other lock screen replacement apps. IMHO this a CATASTROPHIC omission by the devs of what I believe is an otherwise-outstanding app! I mean it -- I LOVE this app! The fact that something so simple and avoidable is keeping me from being able to use it pains me gravely. To be clear, yes, it appears WL can be set to give deference to system PIN/pattern security as mentioned in another post but someone please explain to me how doing this doesn't defeat the point of installing the app in the first place!
I agree that there are potential security concerns in having lock screen shortcuts bypassing the pin/pattern lock; I however disagree that such a thing necessarily "makes using security features pointless." Let's be frank. Some of us have much bigger security concerns than worrying about who might be snooping through our pictures or contact lists, but even in the event that such things are the aggregate of one's sensitive "stuff" there are ways to achieve essential functionality without turning over the keys to one's deepest, darkest secrets. One could, for example, simply download a basic camera app without a gallery link, or a standalone dialer app with a null (or decoy) contact list. With a bit of hackery one needn't even give up the comfort or utility of full-feature apps in this regard. Failing this, there are still plenty of other apps one might want quick and unfettered access to which do NOT pose an inherent security risk (i.e. music player, flashlight, weather, stopwatch/timer, calculator, universal remote, fruit ninja, etc.). What's the point of having shortcuts/widgets on the lock screen if you have to unlock your device to access them? Why not just use the shortcuts/widgets on the home screen if you're going to go to the trouble to make an effort commensurate to that end anyhow?
