[Q] Best kernel for CM7 - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
I am a regular Oxygen 2.3.2 user and flashed a CM 7.1 ROM earlier today. Its been a pleasure by tweaking the nice customization by Cyanogen team, but i feel the battery is not been its best which it serves with Oxygen.
Can anyone tell me what is the best kernel for better battery life in CM7, i will be happy to flash it over the rom to feel the difference.
Thanx.

I recommend ManU kernel. Check my sig.
via xda app

Thanx man, will try manU.

Best and most stable rom?

Hey people. I just bought my Desire HD today, and just finished rooting it. Now, i want the most stable, and performanced rom. I don't want to flash my radio and all that, i just want something that works best (AND DOSEN'T CRASH)
Thanks in advance
Wow... Bought and rooted immediately...
I think the 2 stable one are Cyanogenmod and LeeDroid.
For sense Leedroid is the go. The other sense roms are perfectly stable and usable but Leedroid has a slight edge.
If you want AOSP then Cyanogenmod 6.1.3 is the only choice.

[Q] Wildfire best Rom for gaming

Hello! I would like to know what Rom would do a best gaming performance on wildfire. I have already tested myself Cyanogenmod 7 and SUnAaBh v1.1 and of course the Froyo 2.2 stock rom. i think Cyanogenmod 7 has the better game performance than SUnAaBh on my opinion. it may be because Cyanogenmod has android 2.3.
oh! And the other question
Is there a Kernel that would overclock wildifre even more than 768Mhz
I would like to know your opinion about this.
Thanks already
ps. Sorry for my bad english
Best gaming rom is anonimos froyo rom based on open fire, you can find it in development section or cyanogenmod (when using cm7, do not change the kernel, that kernel is the best one for wildfire).
No you cant overclock more than 768 mhz because it would be very unstable and could fry the processor.
Best kernel to flash on any rom is HCDR.jacobs 4.1 kernel, if you cant find it, pm me ill send it to you.
Note: dont use jacobs 4.2 kernel, from my experience, its unstable.
Hit thanks if i helped you, cheers.

I like more Android 2.3 than 2.2. So i change back to Cm7. It has a smooth gaming in wildfire. Thanks!

[Q] Best kernel for Cyanogenmod 7.0.3

Hi,
I would like to know what's the best kernel for Cyanogenmod 7.0.3
Did some research but couldn't find the best one.
Battery life is really important.
I never flashed a kernel btw
I'm using this one http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=1968. I'm pretty sure it's pershoot's most recent .32 kernel that works with cm 7.0.3 and i'm getting great battery life with it.
Also freezing/removing wifi calling and ganoptimizer with titanium backup increased my battery life too.
Hope this helps.
Thanks you,
I'm going to flash my first kernel right now
So the kernel is installed right now, i'll report back on the battery life later.
Thank you for your help.

Most of the ICS ROMs are based on Arco's kernel, but if you wish to have an alternative, you may try forfivo kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855557
Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653907
Please read the introductions and comments in those links to decide which one do you prefer
Anyway if you prefer a more stable ROM, you may try XXLM8 ICS-themed GB ROM, since CM9 is still on the way in fixing bugs and problems:

(ii) Mutant http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689421
(iii) Rebel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673875
*According to the users, GB ROM with XXLM8 kernel is pretty good in gaming, and have a quite decent battery life
Please remember to do a full backup
And full wipe before flashing a new ROM
Hope it helps

Hi sir thank you ao much for the links and recommendations, yes we saw a vid sample of cm9 and he was very impressed, he liked it and wanted to flash it right away.. but as you said stability and bugs is still an issue. I explained to him so he decided to wait for a better version... but we would like to try you last recommendation the ics themed gingerbread. Since its stable and battery efficient. Hes very particular with his fm radio.so we're just going to check if the radio is functional in the last recommendation. Thank you again! I push the thanks button too. Good day sir

Just a tip: Black Notes is no longer being maintained, and Mutant ROM is entering an extended hiatus (and more likely will also be discontinued permanently). Rebel ROM is the 'spiritual successor' to Black Notes, but development is a bit slow currently.
That said, I'm currently using Mutant ROM, and I gotta say that combined with Holo Launcher (free from Play Store), it's almost like having ICS

This question is asked many times. Yes flashing a new kernel would help.
I advice you to flash NCX kernel.
You can read more about this or other kernels available for AOSP Roms in the Original Development thread.
EDIT: In my own experience, Sense roms have better battery life in comparison to AOSP roms. But AOSP roms come with lots of goodies! Easier life!
Stable xm is also good. I guess 188(v4)
You can not flash franco, since it is based on ICS source.
So will the NCX kernel work on CyanogenMod 10.1?? Will it help improving the battery life?
