[Q] Wildfire best Rom for gaming - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello! I would like to know what Rom would do a best gaming performance on wildfire. I have already tested myself Cyanogenmod 7 and SUnAaBh v1.1 and of course the Froyo 2.2 stock rom. i think Cyanogenmod 7 has the better game performance than SUnAaBh on my opinion. it may be because Cyanogenmod has android 2.3.
oh! And the other question
Is there a Kernel that would overclock wildifre even more than 768Mhz
I would like to know your opinion about this.
Thanks already
ps. Sorry for my bad english

Best gaming rom is anonimos froyo rom based on open fire, you can find it in development section or cyanogenmod (when using cm7, do not change the kernel, that kernel is the best one for wildfire).
No you cant overclock more than 768 mhz because it would be very unstable and could fry the processor.
Best kernel to flash on any rom is HCDR.jacobs 4.1 kernel, if you cant find it, pm me ill send it to you.
Note: dont use jacobs 4.2 kernel, from my experience, its unstable.
Hit thanks if i helped you, cheers.

I like more Android 2.3 than 2.2. So i change back to Cm7. It has a smooth gaming in wildfire. Thanks!

[Q] overclocking g2 with sense

please bear with me as im pretty new to this.
so a few weeks ago, i rooted my g2 and installed sense ui (desire z rom)
now i tried to overclock with the kernel from the unlockr page titled "How To: Overclock your perm rooted/ s-off T-Mobile MyTouch 4G or T-Mobile G2."
the overclock works great except for one thing, the video player doesnt work. none of the videos whether i made them or from youtube will work.
id like to know if i did something wrong.
You have to do a lot of research on which rom and or kernel you get they all have things that dont work... Either videos, blutooth, number keys during calls.....

As shortlived said you can flash karnels and overclock your phone but some things will not work, especially video playback. Read some threads and you will get an idea. Also you can try Virtuous you can download the advance karnel(You can overclock to 1.5 ghz) and everything should work fine.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z/G2 Using XDA Premium App
now that's figured out, has anyone successfully overclocked the g2 with sense or is it better to overclock with the stock rom?
Overclock kernal always can't support video playback well. Maybe you can try one by one to find a suitable

Okay it matters what sense your talking about. Gingerbread sense right now works with the stock sense karnel and sense 2.2 in the other hand can be overclocked ( Use Virtuous since you can download the advance karnel and overclock to 1.5 GHZ and like I said before everything should work.) As for stock Rom, I wouldn't waste my time since there is CM7 or CM6 is better. Also you can overclock both to to 1.5 ghz

Kernels are linked to the ROM being used, not to the hardware. Therefore, you need to be specific and tell us which ROM you used (as the reply above also mentioned). Different custom ROMs often have recommended kernels. Another thing, Froyo kernels are not the same as Gingerbread kernels. Plus, the kernels for Sense based ROMs are different from the vanilla (non-Sense) flavored. The kernel you mentioned appears to be for the stock G2 ROM (non-Sense). That is probably the main reason why things aren't working right.
If you are on Virtuous, then flash one of the Virtuous kernels. Virtuous comes with a 1 GHz overclock, no kernel flashing required. But since you've flashed another kernel, you should be able to flash the Standard kernel to get back to it). Or you can flash the "Advanced" Virtuous kernel for more OC options.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967153
If you are on a stock Sense Froyo ROM, the Godspeed kernel works great.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847724&highlight=KERNAL
If you are on some other custom Sense ROM, read the thread for that ROM, to see what kernels are recommended.
Or if you want to get real crazy you can flash the 1.8ghz kernel just dont expect everything to work.

[Q] [Question] Going back to Stock Froyo !

Hey XDA ,
This is my first Post here , Pardon me if I sound noobish (I'm a noob but I learn fast and I'm on my way of becoming an electrical enigeneer)!
I have an HTC Wildfire , rooted using the method in this thread a few months ago
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035
I'm Currently on CM 7.1.0.1 , and I have CWM 5.0.2.0 flashed
I went through a few versions of CM7 and this is the one that satisfies me the most.
However , I want to go back to Stock Froyo , basically because I want more stability and I think It'd be nice to have sense back (And I think the GPS is not working but It's not too important for me) , and I thought , I already have the phone rooted so I can install custom kernels , OC , ... , while still having the stock ROM .
I heard that going back to Froyo would make me "Lose" the Rooting .
First of all , What does this mean ? and is there a way of doing it without "Loosing " Root or Bricking the phone ?
If not , please recommend the best Sense ROM available that could be as good as CM7 with minimal known bugs (would appreciate download links).
One last thing (Don't know if it's relevant) , I partitioned my SD and it's working great using the Link2SD App , Is my SD still a GoldCard?
I went through the forums and couldn't find an answer , And again , sorry for sounding like a noob and thanks in advance !
Hey pal your best bet is to run a custom froyo sense rom that will keep root and work with your Sdcard partition. I suggest rem puzzle as its fast stable with app2sd and GPS working. Something to note, when you install it it will reboot a few times and take up to 15 minutes. Its normal, don't panic

Right now, your best bet for speed and stability would be RemPuzzle.
Gingerbread Sense Tom's like KoolSense work, but they're a bit slow.

ahhh why go back to stock Sense Rom, trust me, its become a habit for me to change roms like socks! therz so many to chose from mate. and yes i must admit stability is a huge factor in choosing a rom. my major issue with sense is the lack of over clocking. I tried kwbr rom, its sense alright, with beats audio but no overclocking ability, any way I use CM 7.2 RC3 for everyday use, its super stable and fast. i use go launcher as my everyday launcher as well, but its all a matter of taste in what you like, here is a link to the various roms available to our dear wildfire

if you really insist on going back to stock sense, i will post the RUU link but just browse these rroms for a while hey...
PS. if i helped, please click thanks

You can overclock sense based roms. Rempuzzle has an overclockable kernal included. For kwbr you will have to flash a different kernal.

[Q] how to overclock HTC Wildfire?

HI,
I want to overclock my HTC Wildfire for batter gaming performance. My device details:
Rooted and running SUnAabh v1.1 ROM
Baseband: 13.55.55.24h_3.35.20.10
kernal 2.6.32.21-g0f9e.... tue noc 30.....
Build Number: vibhu's rom froyo
I am have used SetCPU app but it not working ?
Can any one tell me how to overclock my device.
Thanks
Overclocking wont do much good in terms of gaming performance. Our device lacks gpu which is why games don't work as they should.
Overclocking needs an overclockable krenal. I am using kwbr rom which is sense based as is sunaabh. I use rempuzzle kernal for overclocking on this rom. You can get it from the rempuzzle thread. Alternatively you can use Hcdr kernal.
guys please stop posting in the wrong thread...this is the development thread...move it to the the thread......
and kindly try to use the search button....it solves all your quarries
Has this thread changed section or was I that sleepy I didnt notice it when I replied?? Wierd

Use Cyanogenmod... Performance options (which include overclocking) are integrated inside the rom. Easy as 1 2 3
I want to overclock my device on same ROM, what I need to do ?
Can overclocking improve the games performance ?
I am playing Tekken 3 on my HTC Wildfire Buzz, by using FPse emulator and ISO image of game.
so u have root, and a custom rom. The only thing u are missing is a custom kernel, i think. Flash a kernel that supports your rom and can be overclocked. Than setcpu will work.
The game will run maybe a bit smoother. a gain of 1-5 fps hopefully. Maybe more, but i dont know for sure.

Wow this is an old rom, not seen this pop up for a time.
I used to use fpse(the whole reason i rooted my phone lol) and too played tekken.
Overclocking does help a little but dont expect to be pulling off special moves lol as response is not great even at highest o/c. Mess around with fps in the game/app (cant remember how it works) i think i used 25/30 i got it running quite good at one point but still laggy.
P. S stick with a sense based rom for fpse as it works best on sense on wildfire.
So can you tell me what's new and stable ROM for HTC Wildfire that improve performance.
What I need to do for fast and smooth play of Tekken 3 ?
Reduce frame rate or anything like that ?
Or can you recommend me any good game of PS3 that smoothly run on HTC Wildfire ?
Thanks
Trial and error really but 1st i would flash an o/c kernel. Head to dev section sticky, complete wildfire guide and try jacob flash to any rom kernel or rempuzzle thread and flash rempuzzle kernel.
Then its about testing which values work best for you,use setcpu to adust carefully as setting o/c too high has been known to cause boot loop for some. Go up in settings in parts not straight into 768.good start would be 633 test, then 652 test...... Etc etc
Ive already mentioned about framerate so test different values along with o/c values.
There is only one sense rom. I personally recommend and that is rempuzzle.
Thats it you have to do the rest lol. Goodluck, hope it goes smooth.

Hi
Below is the link to Wildfire complete list of ROM, Kernel etc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
Scroll down to Kernel list section to to choose the kernel that match your rom.
For Sense Froyo ROM alternatively you can use Rempuzzle Kernel to OC
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978197
Check the ADD ON section and Package 02.

Looking for the best rom to install on my Desire

Hi looking to for the best rom to install on my HTC Desireit has not been rooted using stock rom at the moment also would be most greatful if someone could explain how to do this thanks.

Try Bortak's guide, it's the first thread in Q&A section.

And which ROM is the best for you depends on what you like in a ROM.
There are differences in speed, customizability, features and of course the design.
So if you state what you like in a ROM it's easier for us to give an advise.
First of all you should decide if you want a stable rom or the newest but not so stable one.
For beginners I would recommend Cyanogen Mod, thats a nice stable Ginger Bread Rom and you get a good support there.
But if you want to try Ice Cream Sandwich, I suggest you try Sandvolds Rom. I am using that by myself and its great...
Regards
You could also try one of the MildWild-releases. They are both pretty good. I'm using the version based on Oxygen and it works great, very stable and very fast.
I've used MildWild but didnt like it.
Using Cyanogenmod now and i'm really happy with the performance of the rom.
+1 for Cyanogenmod... its flawless and very flexible! go for CM 7.2+INT2SD, it gives 1GB internal memory (find it here)
Below are other options:

If you want Sense ROM try any of the Runny ROMs
Try Ginger Villain rom

If you havn't looked at this thread yet, now is the time.
Its a list of all the Roms for Desire, sorted by android version/ Sense version.
There is no "best rom" but like the others have said, you can't go wrong with CM.
Currently using Mokee OS, which is based on CM but with a whole new interface.

You can use stock 4.2 ,just flash a custom kernel which is what actually allows the over clocking. Franco kernel is good. Then download a CPU control app from the play store.

Isn't the pacman ROM in alpha stage?? That means it's not stable :-/

I'm running CodenameAndroids 3.6 rom, and I haven't found one I like better yet. Tons of customization options. Love the navigation bar options and options to add and change swipe up shortcuts. I'm running Franco's kernel too, but haven't tried oc'ing. Not much of a gamer, so I don't feel the need.
What kind of franco's kernel? I mean experimental or stable? Any kind of oc?(cpu and gpu)
I'm running Milestone 6 stable. I'm pretty sure u can OC but to what IDK.
Now im using BuglessBeast and franco's stable kernel...i don't know if i'm crazy but some games are still laggy:-/ like Dungeon Hunter 3. What's the probleeem ?!?
I am in a similar position and didn't want to start another thread.
I am getting a used GNex tonight...
My start point is a Nexus S with CM10 nightlies and the Marmite kernel. Having Used CM7, CM9 and CM10 on 2 different devices, my temptation is to go for CM10 again. I am not a heavy user and don't play games on a phone, but the most important think to me is battery life (with smoothness a close second of course)..
Can someone please recommend me a battery saving kernel with CM10?
Or another good ROM / kernel combo?
TIA.
