I have a rooted and unlocked bootloader HTC Desire from U.S Cellular. But U.S Cellular isn't in Colorado. I'm slightly familiar with flashing. And I wanna flash this thing to Verizon or Sprint. I find people who have it done. Trouble is there is no instructions on it. Any help on finding a compatible Verizon or Sprint PRL for the Desire. And is there a program other then QPST? And can I do it when the phone runs CM 7.1

You can rest assured knowing you have GSM..
Your looking in the wrong forum i guess... You say 'GSM or CDMA Hero' (Hero is also a G2 Touch... ) don't flash either of those radio's you'll brick your phone.... I think
this is the forum for the G2/Desire Z (HTC Vision), not the G2 Touch.
the G2/Desire Z comes only in GSM versions afaik...
and just for future reference as you go along. Typical CDMA devices do not have a sim card (unless they are global roaming on GSM). GSM phones have a SIM card.
Thanks guys!

WCMDA is one of the air interface standards for UMTS (so simplistically, it signifies the 3G radio while GSM represents the 2G radio).
WCDMA is a completely different standard than CDMA (and actually competes with CDMA's 3G successor, CDMA2000).
Hello,
I'm new to this as my post counter suggest. I just bought a used Telus HTC Desire, I'm new to using Android device as well. I was wondering if I need to root the Desire to obtain 3G from Rogers. I tried using the APN from this thread but it still never showed up on the top notification bar. I'm not entirely sure what to do.
Thank you very much for reading this, I hope to have a reply soon.
Sincerely,
Steven K.
No just unlock and type in the apn. Rogers bell TELUS virgin etc use the same networks.

Does anyone have a HTC Desire with Cellular South?
Sent from my HTC Desire CDMA using XDA App
Some do, but there are more US Cellular CDMA Desires out there. Luckily it doesn't make a difference in ROMs!
I'm asking because I need someone to send me the stock cellular south desire software so I can send it back to CS because I deleted my backup

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can't. Cdma desire is the short straw of the lot. You also can't use any of the nice new sense 2.0+ rom with it. But there's someone out there working on it in another post. I hope he still is anyway

thanks a million. Blugrass pissed me off so i just stoped paying. But i love my phone and would like to keep using it. I wonder if i could use it on sprint. The only thing is that us cellular runs off verizion and so does sprint. I know they block your esn but i'm not sure if it's for us cellular or just for who i'm using.
You could probably use it on boost, but sprint won't activate it.
I've searched these forums, but can't see any clear answer. Can you flash a T-Mobile Wildfire S to work on Virgin Mobile's network? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they pretty much the same phone?
Same phone different stuff one has a Sim one doesn't check my post on all the stuff for VM it has everything and its up to date

If your in the uk, then yes you can
All phones in the uk are GSM and there is no cdma, so can't speak for other countries.
