Clock on screen timeout - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey folks!
I am loving my Galaxy Nexus, though one thing I miss from my OG Droid was its ability to turn it into my alarm clock when docking it. Does anyone know of a way to set the Galaxy Nexus into dock mode, where it would switch on the clock when plugged in and the screen times out?

There is an app called tasker which can be used to do that.

If you have/buy some NFC tags you could set one up to open the Clock App when you go near the tag.
Just an alternative method.

Awesome! If my wife lets me, I might look into the NFC route. Might be fun to set up a bunch of them around the apartment and in the car since both of us own the Galaxy Nexus.

Any mod to get toggle settings in status drop down??

This was a cool feature in miui recently. Anyone know of a mod or app to get it into your drop down status?

I talked to some dev's they said they're gonna work on it
I couldn't figure out how to get it into the notification drop down.
Care to give a step by step?

widgetsoid -> make widget -> advanced -> notifications [on]
MoreQuicklyPanel is specifically for ICS
my only issue with it is the lack of brightness toggle but I leave it on auto 90%+ of the time anyway

Got it. Thanks. Had to play around with it a bit more. Nice app for sure.

I use notification toggle.
Widgetsoid is free and very customisable. I'm surprised that it works in ICS despite the fact that it was last updated a few months ago

Imm not very techy like this (yet). Especially because my laptop has a broke scree. So I cantt learn to change stuff lime this. But you need to rework parts of the SysyemUI.apk. talk to Nitroglycerine. He did it for the Droid X2.
And to anyone saying stuff aboit Widgetzoid and other related apps, it does not gige you toggle switches in the dropdown/pulldown.it gives you shortfuts to the setting. We dontt want that. We want the actual toggle switches.
Nome of those appd work for me, and I dontt like them. Itss not what I am looking for.
And, BTW, bump on wanting this too. I am glad to hear a dev is cooking something up. Keep us ppsted on the dev, ericerk.

Galaxy Nexus Questions

Is it possible to add torch to GN? I tried several market apps and none are supported by GN.
Also what are 3 golden pins for, on the right side on phone?

The app for a flashlight is called flashlight. Search for it in the market

My main flashlight has been Tesla LED, but it seems to have a a 3 second or so wait between pressing the torch and the light coming on. Hopefully they will patch it up soon and it will be a great torch app on the Nexus Prime.

I use :

works great.
Hi,
does USB Jig for Galaxy S/Galaxy S2 work on Nexus?
I tried a load of flash light apps, all which seemed to have taken forever from when you press the switch to when the light went on.
Apart from 1 app called "search light" https://market.android.com/details?id=com.scottmain.android.searchlight . The flash turns on instantly, and you can have the screen show you what the camera sees, which is very useful when looking for things in the dark!
I can't recommend search light enough!
I agree with darkgruff , tiny works great and just added shake to turn on in the lock screen

I don't know if you are rooted or not but AOKP's roms have a torch built in and you can enabled it as a toggle in the notification bar. Works perfectly.

[REQ]Silient ringtone with turn upside down phone

i've switched from GS2 to GN and miss the integrated function to mute the sound just put face down the phone
there is an app on market that do the same thing?

Very easy to do with Tasker. Costs a bit though, but there's a lot you can do with it.

yes very easy but not the same implementation
with taker i need to do two profile to put/remove silent based on device position
the implementation on samsung touchwiz/htc sense make phone silent only with one motion and only when you do it. I think that with Tasker, if I accidentally put phone on face down (and not voluntary) i'll lost ringtone..
I haven't tested it but this is one choice

yea you can do it without tasker without randomly silencing the ringtone, you can set it to only work when your phone is ringing

Daydream?

Can Pls anybody explain to me how daydream works? I selected run when charger connected but when will it run now? Do I just hav to put phone in standby or what? Thanks in advance
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Which options did you choose to run? Like for instance the clock is hardly visible. But to answer your question daydream will start when you connect the charger.
Side note: it slowed down my charge time big-time taking way longer to charge when running daydream.

Why cant they make something like nokia's lockscreen clock that has notifications for received messages and missed calls...
that thing barely uses any battery even when it is always there...at least on nokia's phones that is.

I think he means, like, as a daydream. Dash clock doesn't have a daydream addon. But to answer your question, the purpose of using daydream while charging is so your screen with degrade faster so you'll buy a new phone.
