Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem to me.
Basically I have an orange galaxy nexus on a panther tariff and cannot get the swapables to work.
I have tried using dolphin browser to change the user agent, but this has not worked. (this was based on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366340)
I had unlocked the boot loader and rooted the handset. however since I was worried this might be causing the problem, i loaded loaded up the ics 4.0.2 from the google website, which unrooted the phone, I then locked the bootloader. however Im still getting the same problem, when I go to the orange swapables site it tells me there was a technical blip, and to call tech support quoting code 102.
I noticed most people were originally only seeing the astrology swapable, but I haven't even been seeing this one.
does any one have any idea what I may be doing wrong?
I was thinking maybe orange could detect that my rom is possibly not the one orange would load onto it, as its the one from the google website.
I am on Orange now and have the option for swapables with my panther tariff.
After visiting Orange world (via wifi) and entering my number I get a text with a link from Orange.
When you visit this link you get a page where you can select add swappable. The only option as per the post you link to is bloody Russell Grant Astrology.
Guess this is something we all need to complain to Orange about so they can fix it. Mobile TV is the one I think I would try more than anything. They aren't really any good options but as a freebie from them you can't grumble. (well I am lol)
Using the other method i just get a opps... message
*actually it worked after noticing i added an extra space. Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.3; en-gb; GT-I9100 Build/GINGERBREAD) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
@Laird_Attwood
your seems to be working as normal, have a look at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1366340
It should work for you!
I just doesn't for me
I am also running bootloader unlocked and rooted
After getting the full list when you select one you get the oops.. technical error again - works after lots of back and forth. Now works on default browser once selected via Dolphin HD
Only thing I could suggest it to go back to stock 4.0.1 and do the OTA for 4.0.2 and try again.
I got it working using dolphin and the custom agent
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.3; en-gb; GT-I9100 Build/GINGERBREAD) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, Like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
Once you have set the agent navigate through from the orange homepage to the swapables selection. I now have deezer and mobile TV ......
Don't know if that's exactly the same string you tried?
Sadly I've just loaded the original 4.0.1 from and ota updated to 4.0.2 used the exact same user agent and still get the 102 error. I'll try the sim card in one of the supported phones tomorrow and get back with how I get on
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Edit - my post wasn't really relevant actually, sorry
OK,
Ive now found out its a problem on oranges side, Ive tried using different phones and still get the same problem, I had a go on a mates GN he also has a panther tariff and I was able to set up his swapables quite easily (following the user agent and dolphin browser method). However I get a strange error with mine, so still trying to get orange to sort it out.
Yep, Oranges fault!
All fixed now, and all it took was several hours waiting on the phone to orange!

I upgraded to Ricky's ROM on my dash and love it.
however I have a quandry. I want to go to MSNBC and get their multimedia app, so I can watch their stuff.
Their website www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17692217 lists the dash as supported, but our far superior rom reports as an HTC S-620. is there a way to change how the phone reports itself in order to convince the site it is supported, (when you click the link to get it, the site says your phone isn't supported .. yes i am clicking within the phones browser)
also is there a way to get opera mini to register itself as a desktop browser? when i go to aol.com it gives me the wap version.
doesn't work:
changing HKLM\windows\current version\internet settings\5.0\user agent\(default) string value started with HTC s620 to T-Mobile Dash (don't know if changing the next part to that is 5.2.968 to a different version number or if there should be a different spelling or punctuation)
changing hklm\ident\OrigName from HTC s620 to T-Mobile Dash
also is there a way to get opera mini to ID itself as a desktop computer and not a mobile phone at all times? when i go to AOL.com it shows me the WAP website
perhaps someone who still has a "dash" can go to the link and download the program and the put it where we can see if it will install on a dash that is no longer a dash? see if it signed to only install on a particular device.
Here's my situation.
I was able to stream iplayer thru opera mobile on my HD stock rom, bought from mobiles.co.uk.
Got into flashing last week but have had absolutely no joy with iplayer since. I have tried many different opera mobile builds. I have changed the user agent within but with still no joy. The closest I have managed, was to load the iplayer site only to be told my device is not supported (using the HD user agent).
Anybody got any pointers - please enlighten me.
I don't think the problem is related to flashing.
I am getting the same message for the last few days and I'm using original (Orange) ROM.
Is iplayer working for anyone else?
hi guys
yeah i had the same problem after flashing with Davideuck V1. I thought it was the build. I kept my old ORANGE ROMS, opera.ini file just in case but it still didnt work.
Looks like support for the Touch HD has been dropped by the BBC for now. LAthough it stills lists it on their site.
For now ive just used the "sgh-i900" hack in the user agent field in the opera.ini file and that seesm to work fine. If you do a search on here or at wmpoweruser you should be able to do this.
WTF says unsupported device now!!! thats maddness -- using duttys xtreme 1.9 (was working last week, spent the whole week getting it up and running)
bbc suck!
Here are the instructions for the fix mentioned above:
* Run Opera
* In the address bar enter opera:config (no http://)
* Scroll down to User Prefs and click
* Scroll down to Custom User-Agent and at the end of the pre-filled text add sgh-i900
* Scroll down some more and press Save. You will get a prompt which suggests you may need to reset the phone, but for this you don’t.
* Now point your browser to http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer/ and enjoy.
It worked for me.
THANKS!
Problem for me there is, I've got no pre filled text at all in the custom user agent.
Can anyone provide the complete string to fill in.
Thanks in advance.
Some custom ROMS have disabled flash in Opera for stability and speed. They usually include IE though which should work with iPlayer.
* Scroll down to Custom User-Agent and at the end of the pre-filled text add sgh-i900
So - can anyone post the full text string to type into the custom user agent. Mine's blank!
had the same problem a while back, just goto opera config and add standard Touch HD user agent then it should all work.

Sorry, my mistake. What I meant to ask for - does anynbody have the full string for the Samsung Omnia.
HD string just says unsupported device!
seems to give me playback error?? wtf is that about. but not this.... it did the same when the user agent said HTC_TOUCH_HD_T8282 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)
is the sgh-i900 working on everyone elses??? or is it just my setup i have at the moment??? it opened up with WIFI and also streaming media app.
As Telstra users may be aware, there's a ROM out there called T-Mod (www.t-mod.org) which is a modified LeeDrOiD release to include the Telstra user agent strings in the HTC browser. This allows access to Telstra services like mobile foxtel, whereis, my data usage, etc. Normally Telstra locks these services so that they can only be accessed by the correct user agent.
The HTC browser is great in that its user agent string can be modified in a human-readable XML file. Unfortunately, in virtually all other regards, it's fairly horrid to use compared to the stock Android browser. The problem being, the stock android browser has the user agent strings compiled into it.
I've managed to compile a new version of the cyanogenmod browser, with an option to change the useragent to the Telstra string, and it identifies itself correctly as: "Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-au; HTC_Desire_A8183 V1.16.841.1 Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1" which, as far as I can tell, is the string reported by the Telstra HTC browser. I'm using the exact same APN configuration as a working telstra rom.
Yet, it still won't access the content. Are there any knowledgable users/devs here that can possibly shed some light on how else the Telstra mobile site might be identifying users?
I know this is probably an obvious question, but are you using WiFi or 3G to access the Telstra content?
You can only access a majority of the Telstra content via 3G with the correct Telstra proxy.
I'm curious to find out which UAStrings and settings need to be changed too.
I like T-Mod, but I would prefer a build based on a stock HTC rom, which I'm researching on right now
how did you go with this im also keen to use a different rom?
cheers
Hi,
first of all i'm sorry about my english.
My carrier knows that i'm useing HTC desire and because they don't sell this phone they don't provide service that i'm entitled to have according to my service plan.
they do sell samsung galaxy s and they give their customers that own the phone the same service that i need.
so, i think how can i change the id of the phone so my carrier will see SGS instead of the htc desire.
i've succeeded to manipulate their software with dolphin HD when i inserted a custom user agent with this parameters:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.1; iw-il; GT-I9000 Build/FROYO) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
i found this line and information in forum which i read.
is it possible to change the id of the device?
and if it does how can i change it?
thanks in advance,
Ariel.
Proabably not.
Hey all, just a small problem I've encountered with all sense 3.5 ROM ranging from Seb15's to Cool3D sense 3.5.
Does anyone know how disable mobile view in the browser?
I've tried unticking the box in the settings but it still does not disable the mobile view as all the websites I go on, it automatically puts me into mobile view!
Does anyone know how to actually disable it?
Cheers
Dave
this may be silly but have you tried restarting after you unticked mobile view
Hi Dave,
That setting works for me on sebastiaan Runnymede fine. Just tried it on www diy com for example.
Yep, I've restarted when unticked. It won't move to desktop view. Such websites I have tried is Google, BBC, engadget, guardian and YouTube. I've tried "about:debug" to get the UA String option. When I change that to desktop I still can't get desktop mode to work!

Hi Dave,
This won't help you fix your problem I expect , but just sharing how it works for me.
Google. I have to click the Mobile or Classic link at the bottom of the page to get it to switch. It ignores the setting in the browser.
Endgadget and Guardian always gives me the mobile version, regardless of setting.
youtube and BBC gives me mobile or desktop depending on what I've ticked. I don't have to even restart my browser to switch I just change the setting and then type www youtube com in the address bar and it loads the "right" version.
Maybe it's to do with how the web site detects the browser, rather than a problem with Sense per se?

All pre-sense 3.5 totally disabled the mobile setting. Sense 2.1 and 3.0 browsers when unticked let me access the web in desktop mode. I had to do no faffing around. I think I'll have to let the devs know because even when the UA string is changed to desktop it still presents me with mobile view.
I've done a bit of playing with my daily driver ROM, while looking at the User Agent String on www mybrowserinfo com.
On Seb15 Runny AIO ROM (Android 2.3.5, Sense 3.5) in mobile view :-
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.5; en-gb; HTC_Desire_A8181 Build/GRJ90) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
but in Desktop view it shows :-
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_3; HTC Desire; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.16 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0 Safari/533.16
Don't need to restart the phone or the browser
On ICS in mobile view
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.0.1; en-gb; Full Android on Bravo Build/GRI40) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30
in desktop view
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.24 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/11.0.696.34 Safari/534.24
On Stock Froyo (Android 2.2 with Sense) in mobile view
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-gb; HTC Desire Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_7; en-us) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Safari/530.17
So the setting is definitely having a difference to how the phone presents itself to the web-site (which is also proved by how www diy com reacts to the setting for me). Maybe some web-sites are looking at different bits of info in the UA string to others, to determine which page to display?
Been looking into it, tried loads of UA strings in the browser settings when I typed in about:debug in the address bar.
Changed my UA string so many times, yet it still comes up the same as stock UA :/ This looks like a ROM problem!
