skip line messaging app - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
this might sound like a stupid question but when using the default messaging app for sms in ICS there doesnt seem to be an ENTRE key. Is there no way to skip lines when texting on ICS?

Push space bar a lot is the only way it seems..

What keyboard can you recommend?
I'm using the 'TouchPal' keyboard (which I'm very happy with btw), and while it shows the return key, it doesn't insert the CR/LF in the SMS application.

Oh !!
press enter = send
how to use shift + enter (same computer) for enter new line ?

Enter to send?

Can somebody make a tweak where you would be able to press enter on the keyboard and send a text message. I Love sense 2.5 but when im using HTC messaging i tend to forget that its not like the standard WM messaging where the send button is at the bottom. And ill hit back and have to type my message ALL over again. so either have the enter button to be able to send or move the send button on the SENSE 2.5 to the bottom row and remove the back button?
yes this can be done with to programs...mortscript and rhodium keyboard control...you can write a script to mouse click in the send spot...then map it to the enter key...hope this helps!!

Not sure about a string. There's already a '.com' button on the hard keyboard. I'm sure you could edit that button to input '.com.br' instead if you always use that.
As far as "gmail.com". why are you going to the website? Just have the quick launch go to the gmail app, 1000x better. But for some reason if you want to go to the website, you can make a bookmark for gmail.com, then set that quick-key to launch the bookmark.
I like to keep that .com button, and use ".com.br" to other Brazilian sites.
"gmail.com" is only a example, in fact, I want to use my login that is "[email protected]" to use as a shortcut.

Try typing "\n"? (Joke)
Anyways, I hadn't run into this issue yet, but I can definitely see this annoying me...
Anyone know if line breaks are removed in SMS messages? If they are, this is really a non-issue I guess.

No, you can use line breaks but the official Android keyboard + messaging app combo never had an "enter/return" option in the messaging app. It was always replaced by the smiley button. ICS is no exception, you'll have to either use a different keyboard or SMS app if you want line breaks.

MMS app with option for enter button?

So I've asked this before; searched xda, searched Google, found nothing. On my old hero the developers had modified the stock mms app to have the option of an enter key instead of the smiley button. I have yet to find such a mod for the evo. Please help! Seems like something that a lot of people would like..
Alternative mms apps work for a while but they always end up pissing me off with links to other apps or other unnecessary crap.
Thanks!

I have the same question, why is the keyboard different based on what you are using. I have an enter key when doing emails, but when doing text -- no enter key, only smiley face. Is there a reason for this....is there a way to turn "on" so I always have an enter key.
I have searched but I have not found it.... I am sure there is a reason, but I do like having an enter key.
I use swift keyboard and it has an enter key for text messages.

There are different keyboards that apps can call for.. for example when an app needs your email address, often it will show a keyboard with an @ instead of a ,
The mms app just happens to call for the Smiley keyboard so you can quickly make emoticons. The HTC hero devs made a replacement mms apk that gave you the option to pick your keyboard but I haven't found anything like that so far on the evo

Customize User Dictionary

Has anyone been able to change or update words in their user dictionary? I use the standard Samsung Keyboard, but I cannot find a setting for user dictionary anywhere. I can goto options for the samsung keyboard, but it will only learn from gmail, facebook, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
PS
The samsung keyboard letters are grayed out in language and input, but I can click on the cog next to it to get to settings.
I tried the Swype, but couldn't figure it out either so I went back to my trusty old SlideIt. Easy customizable dictionary + resize keyboard however you like + move keyboard to left or right side for one-handed typing + many more customizations, including how long you want to longhold a key to get the upper character (min. time is 0.1 sec!). Get the paid version. It's better.

Does it have the numbers separately set above the keyboard? Each of the keyboard I have looked at don't have this feature which keeps me using the stock keyboard.

Numbers are, like on a regular laptop/desktop chiclet keyboard, superscripted on the top row of keys (i.e. the qwerty row). So to access the #1, you longhold 'q'. In settings, you can adjust the longhold duration. Mine is set to 0.1 sec, which is so short a time that it is almost the same as having a dedicated #1 key. It's so quick that as I'm getting used to it, I've unintentionally typed the longhold characters quite a few times.

That's based on the older ICS keyboard. Notice on the note 2 with jellybean keyboard you get a separate set of number keys, allowing them to add even more special characters to the letter keys? Trying to retain that. Think I found a few new ones tho. Thx.
anyone able to edit user dictionary ... or import text file ... right now its learning from facebook and gmail but cannot import it by whatsapp ... software like User Dictionary manager show blank dictionary
