Lower screen failure?

Hey guys has anybody else's touchscreen were it curves at the bottom randomly became unresponsive? As well as the touch buttons? Mine seems to do it when I'm doing something intensive like Netflix and minecraft
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
That's because your CPU is being overrun by tasks and essentially "lags". Never happened to me while using Netflix however, can't say anything for Mine craft since I don't play it.

Not going to beat around the bush here. I've definitely had this problem. People using my phone have noticed it too. Happens whether the CPU is being bogged down or not. My theory is the that bottom of the screen is further away from the digitizer since the screen is curved. It curves upwards towards the bottom. Not sure if the actual OLED panel is curved.

Most of the time its just when ur phone is place on a soft surface and when u touch it the soft surface absorbs the shok and the phone dosent register ur touch. But if ur using ur hand ar when ur phone is on a hard table this dosent happen
It does happen when the phone is hot so its gotta be the CPU. I have v6 supercharger and the systemui set to always stay in memory is there a way to dedicate a percentage of my CPU to it just like 5% or less? I am rooted with cm9

S Pen clicking even when not placed on screen?

S Pen clicking even when not placed screen?
Is anyone having this problem where even when you're hovering the pen at a distance above the screen, it still clicks the screen?
It happens to me not often, but when it does, it's annoying and can completely mess up what im trying to do.
Just wondering whether my device is faulty, a system bug, or I'm not doing it right. -_-

Ye im having the same problem. Im thinking of returning it because its all the time. Cant use the pen.
Ah, just trying to see if I'm the only one.
Could you tell me where you got yours?
I turned off the hovering effect and it still clicks. So its either the pen or the phone.
I bought it in Norway
Does anyone else have a similar problem? Do let us know

I've solved the problem already.
Turns out it's a faulty SPen. Went to the store and they gave a brand new replacement pen. Works flawlessly now.

Sounds like a dodgy button on the pen.
Got nothing to do with the pen button. It clicks the screen when just hovering the screen.

I had the same problem but I am lazy and did not want to go to the shop and explain the problem to get a new pen. Instead I tried to hit the side of the pen against the table edge a couple of times and I have not experienced any problems with the pen since.
Why not. I'd rather spend the time to get a properly functioning pen, than using a quick fix which might break again in the future.

That was a known bug in Note 1 abd i guess it carried on till Note 2

Thank God I found a thread on this! You are lucky to get a new s pen. I don't think stores here in India accept to replace it. Where did you buy the phone? Also, it was working good for the initial couple days and it started all of a sudden. Don't you think it can be a software glitch that can be rectified via an update?
Just hit the side of Pen by any solid surface (wall) strongly, be careful about the button's side. that is all!
This way helped me to solve my S-Pen problem
I had the same problem with you, since first use. I went back to the shop and they replaced the whole package phone plus S-pen. Now it's all in order.

Here is the solution. I tried tapping behind the S Pen button and it solved.
http://smartphones.wonderhowto.com/...ensitivity-for-better-touch-response-0140084/
But I would like to get the auto selection mode again, dont know how. Per the above link, looks like if I counter-clockwise move the screw, it can again become hyper sensitive.
A possible (more permanent) solution
This is a solution to the infamous S-Pen hover/pressing problem (where it will register a press when it's not touching the screen!)
I tried turning off air view, tried tapping and moving the pressure sensor tip... nothing seemed to fix it properly .. nothing except adjusting the potentiometers in the s-pen
The rough guide:
1. Remove the button from the s-pen (a sharp blade in the middle and levering up should do remove it but be careful it doesn't fly off somewhere unknown!.
2. Adjust the potentiometer (variable resistor) closest to the stylus tip (the writing bit). Turn it clockwise to make it less sensitive and CCW to increase it. A few degrees should be enough.
3. Replace the button - put the tongue side in towards the stylus tip and then rest the button on the stylus. Press the raised end towards the tip and down.
Test (actually you might want to test it before you do step 3!)
A big thanks to kevie88 on YouTube for suggesting it in a comment - a quick web search seemed to confirm it. I made a how to video that might help someone.
I called Samsung support and they are sending me a new s-pen anyway so I thought the above method was worth a go
Mine was really over sensitive put of the box so I tapped it on the coffee table a couple of times and it now works perfectly.

Anyone else having this shaking issue with the screen? Happens with finger, not spen

Whenever there's a webpage or app where I can scroll, if I start to move my finger up (or down) and then stop, the screen starts to shake. It gets really annoying after a while.
When I use the s pen, this does not happen. Everything is nice, smooth, and just great.
But when I use finger, I get the shaking.
Anyone else experienced this? It only shakes like 2-3mm up and down but it gets annoying..
I've never had such issues on any of my other devices: LG G2, Droid Razr, and iPad (my mom's)
Yup this is an issue with plenty of people. I'm sending mine in for repair in a day or 2 for this problem. If they can't fix it, I don't want it back. Supposedly there are those who don't have this shaking crap, so maybe if they just replace the tablet with a normal one, I'll be happy. That's another thread on here with more info and more people experiencing this. Multi touch problems, basically. Who knows. I'm planning on updating the status of my note over there once I hear back from the repair center.
It's a software problem, Al, out everyone with this tablet has this problem

I never noticed this, because usually I put my finger off the screen after scrolling. But you're right, I tried it by scrolling then stop and keeping the finger in position. The screen starts to shake or more like to vibrate up and down.
But to be honest, I don't care, as I won't experience this in my normal usage.
None here ..

How Many Times Have You Dropped Your XM?

I saw this kind of thing in the N5 section
I dropped my XM about 5 times on asphalt, rocks and normal wooden floor
It is fine but the cover just started squeaking when pressed on the right spot
What about you?

Never dropped my phone on the asphalt, never on rocks, probably some 5-10 cm drops on wood, a couple of drops from the bed onto the carpet. The thing that I always love to do is throw it like a frisbee onto the couch or bed Had 2 bad drops onto carpet that way, but I have NEVER dropped it face down. I have used both a case and screen protector, but I feel that they are just a waste of money(that's if you don't have fingers made of butter). Using a screen protector is recommended, but really, it's like using a condom.
Your next question will be, how many times you go for pee, ryt?
Grow up op.

Was really excited to try it but somehow if the watch is lock by that app and I cover the whole screen with my hand, it will fall back to the watch face... Features are deactivated on the watch ...
