My galaxy s II has been going unbelievably slow.. 0.02 mbps, the most i've gotten is 9 mbps and that was ONCE when i opened my phone.. is there any idea why my phones so slow? It is rooted, but running stock 2.3.6
Are you using the latest sim card (one that came with the phone?) and your wifi calling works? My data speeds jumped from 7mbps to to 11 mbps as soon as I used the newer sim card.

Weird...
Try a speed test at night, at night I can get 15MBPS, 19 max...
During the day I average 3-4 and get 6 MAX.
It's terrible during the day.
Those are exactly throttle speeds. .06 mbps. You sure you're good on data? This has happened to me too though when I hadn't gone over. When my account was transferred from a consumer line to a dealer line I started randomly getting throttle speeds or slower. No phone rep could figure out what was wrong, I went through several SIM's, and even did a warranty exchange on the phone. Eventually my tmo rep did something on the back end and the problem went away. I wish I knew what he did so I could make a recommendation. Either way, good luck.

I just wanted to know if any one here has tried it yet. I am guessing LTE won't work under the plan, but H+ still does so for unlimited it works for me, then when T-mobile's LTE/H+ grows a bit I can come over to the pink side. LOL

Yea I am using it on AT&T. My speeds are on avg 3-5mbs down load and 1 upload. I can get 6-9mbs down load at night some times and in a few places was able to get over 2mbs upload, but that's rare. The highest download speed I ever got was 12mbs download and 2.6mbs upload.
Sadly even with 21mbs H+ built in the phone, AT&T only uses H+ 14/7mbs. So that really sucks. But on the good side I have gone over 100GB two times with out issue. No throttling or any of that.
On avg I really only use 5-20GB a month, I only used the 100GB when my ISP failed me. ( Screw you time warner Cable, will be glad to be rid of you soon.)

Can I by any chance see your APN settings? I just got my zperia ZL and I was on the $15/month unltd. plan. But AT&T switched me over to the expensive plan. Maybe my APN settings can be tweaked to allow me to stay with medianet.

So full bars of T-Mobile LTE here at work is a dream to download files with.
I usually use Ttorrent pro with my past devices and I would download files at 1.5-2mb per second on LTE.
After getting my Note 3, it seems like all torrent programs max out at a pathetic 14-20 kb/s and average 3-5 kb/s. Hello dial-up speeds!
I tried downloading all the other popular torrent apps and I would get the same result. Bitcoment, utorrent, atorrent ect.
Tried factory resetting the phone, same results.
Put my sim card in my Note 2 for ****s and giggles and low and behold, downloading at 1.5-2 mb/s. Wow.
Is this an issue with 4.3 Android or did Samsung put up some firewall of some sorts crippling my torrent downloads.
I'm Sad.
I have the same problem idk why.

Yeah I noticed the radio was much stronger on my LG G2. I would get a very good LTE signal at my home on the G2, (which also seemed to have the most bad ass radio on any phone I've used), I thought I was on Verizon for a minute lol.
On my Note 3 I would get 1 to zero bars and it would jump between H+ and LTE at home.

I'm using a Bell one in Canada on bell. Ttorent at great speeds. I'm responding cause I'm getting a T-Mobile note 3 to use in Canada. Once I get it, I'll let you guys know (order gets here Monday).
I'm using aTorrent with PIA VPN and getting above 1 MB/s speeds. Perhaps adding "admin" to the APN type would help, but I haven't tested it for torrents, only for vpn.
would be nice to get to the bottom of this definitely making unlimited high speed data less cool.
Then there is the crappy lte reception at my house..

I was so surprised I went ahead and streamed it to her x box straight from my phone just to show off some more.
Not sure why everyone else is having issues. Also downloaded a 45min episode of a show on lte from her house where speeds are 20mbps down and 2 up. This was slower but more on the standards of what my pc at home does.

On my HTC One I only see like 12-20 Mbps at most when connected to the same WiFi and the same distance to the router. My buddies iPhone sees the full bandwidth of the wireless connection. Has anyone else experienced this? Fixes? I am not rooted and completely stock other than apps.
I have 50+ internet service and have no issues maxing it out with my phone. Have you disabled the "Wifi oltimization" under the advanced settings of wifi? If not, try that, mine is unchecked. Note that having it unchecked does use more power.

I had it enabled on my phone. I disabled it and checked the speed. Started off at 23 Mbps then throttled back to 16 Mbps. My Wife has the same phone and I checked her's. She gets the same results. I checked my work laptop right now (Window 7 machine) and got 42 Mbps. I checked my Macbook Pro and got 40 Mbps. Something with these phones isn't allowing the full speed. What doesn't make sense is the fact iPhones work great.
I have Comcast 50 download speed an all 3 of my HTC ones get 55+ always an my hardline devices get 60.

I don't know if you found a solution, but I stumbled upon one tonight...I was having the same issue. The solution sounds weird, but go to settings>location and turn location services off...I did that and instantly hit the speeds my Comcast service advertises. Haven't played around with the different location services settings yet, though.
Edit: I just toggled it off and back on and I'm still getting much better results.

I just hard reset my phone after taking the update to 4.4.2 the other night. This resolved nothing. I did do a speed test and it went to 28 mbps down then throttled back to 15 mbps. I am not sure what the hell is going on here. Only other thing I will try is hooking up my old Wireless N router and see if that communicates better with the phone. If it does then it is something with this new router from AT&T.

Flashed a new Rom and had the same issue. Location services didn't work either...reset my router (it's a pretty crappy one) and that did the trick. Do you have a gateway for uverse? I would definitely put it in bridge mode and hook your router up to it if it is. I reset my old Router (Belkin N+) and hooked that up (used to have my old Uverse gateway hooked up this way) and did a speed test. Same results as before. From what I gather bridge mode isn't enabled on this gateway. It is the new Bonded Pair Modem for use with their Power (45 Mbps) internet service. This is really frustrating the hell out of me.
I was getting the same issue as you are but the only difference is that my fiance's HTC One stock versus mine being rooted stock she was pulling in higher speeds when connected to the same WiFi, when I would start the test it would start out strong and then throttle back down somewhere between 6-9 Mbps when my plan is 50Mbps download and she would be getting 40+ easily ? my has started to catch up now but it's not really consistent. I believe it maybe something to do with my router cause I was at my friends house who also has Comcast and it was pulling faster speeds. But my laptop at home is having no issues with download speeds. This is my most recent speed test I just did about 5 mins ago.

lawl tmobile sucks....no but seriously, i would recheck your apn settings, make sure theyre all in order...otherwise...thats strange, i know that i have LTE all the time, but if i make a phone call, i drop to 4G because the LTE Radio has to be disabled temporarily when im making calls, which is understandable, the only other thing i can think of is T-Mobile being at fault for some kind of issue on their end. but if you can check your apn settings and try again see what you come up with.
the SAME thing happens to me. I believe it has todo where we live? Anyways in my house when I do loose LTE and get even full bars of 4G its worse then 3G. Half the times it says no connection other times it takes forever to load. I tried going in and out of airplaine mode tried turning ut off and on ect. Also tried to dial##2263## and don't work on my phone. Maybe because of the ROM? But yea my 4G is crapppp.

I also am in the middle of switching over from Verizon to T-Mobile. This is going to be a really hard decision to stay or not. In terms of Data, T-Mobile is no where near Verizon even if they have faster speeds on SOME of their towers. Verizon is very solid and I just always have Data. It isn't something you ever even think about. T-Mobile on the other hand is very hit and miss. When it is good, it is very good but when it isn't, well it isn't.
So to get to you problem, I am seeing the very same thing with my two completely stock Note 3's. I just took a trip this weekend up the cost (Los Angeles to Pismo Beach up HWY 101) so I got to see the how the network does on a trip. for MUCH of the trip, I had a very strong 4G signal but had EXTREMELY slow data speeds, It was basically unusable. Google Maps for example was completely unusable since the map wouldn't update with this extremely slow or no data connection. What I am seeing with T-Mobile is that the connection type indicator such as 4G has 0 to do with what speeds you are going to get. Many of the 4G towers I was on was only giving me download speeds in the range of 0.1 to 0.01 Mbps.
I am within an excellent range for the tower at my house, I can actually see it from my house with no interference between it and me. My speeds on what shows to be a strong 4G signal is Ping = 644 ms, Download = 0.69 Mbps and upload = 0.85 Mbps. But again, on my trip, there were many times that full bars of 4G gave me no response to anything I tried to do that required Data.
T-Mobile may have the fastest speeds when you can get them but there are WAY to many towers and that have 0 to very slow speeds on major highways! You can't even use Google Maps on US HWY 101?
I really want to stay on T-Mobile but coming from Verizon it is a huge step backwards in terms of data reliability. If I do end up staying, I really hope they start concentrating on making the data network actually usable when you are driving around. I would rather have 4 or 5 Mbps of speed on every tower vs 25+ Mbps on some towers sprinkled around that your lucky if you live next to one.

Hey guys. I love T-Mobile. But lately I have gotten horrible data speeds on 4G (not LTE). The average for the past three days has been 50 - 70 KB/s
Thats horrible. I remember I used to get 270 KB/s.
I am running my own ROM with the NB4 baseband installed.
My brother has the S3 and his speeds are pretty much the same as mine.
Are there any ROM tweaks to boost my speed or is T-Mobile throttling me? Or does their speeds literally just suck?
When I am in LTE I get AMAZING speeds no issues nothing. Just RAW FAST sweet speeds.
Its just 4G that sucks. And sadly thats all i get at my house (where i use most of my data)
If i were to call T-Mobile, what do you think could be done about it?
What are your 4G (not LTE) data speeds like??
I'm not sure if its my area or their network.
Kinda getting irritated by it. I feel like im back on Sprint.

It's possible you're being throttled. What plan do you have with T-Mobile? If you're like me on the $30 text and data plan, they throttle your 4G speeds after 5GB. If you're not past the 5GB limit, then it could just be the tower you're connecting to. Contact T-Mobile and give them your address so they can search for any possible errors. They have a Live Chat option you can use to get a faster response. Let them know of the problem so they can investigate it further.

Its weird, when i do a speed test, the speed jumps up to the normal 170 - 270 KB/s then goes way down to 50. And my LTE speed is 1 MB/s which is good but i remember getting about 2.3 - 3 MB/s.
I guess i'll just give em a call. May Odin back to MDL stock and check just to make sure its not a ROM issue.
I am still wondering what you guys are getting on 4G speeds. I really do feel like im back on Sprint.
