Hi there. I have got white marks on the screen it's in the middle and a few at the bottom too.
What would these be and how did they occur ?
Thanks !
All phones with our kind of touch screen has them. It's the spacer dots that are used to decide where on the screen you pressed.

I'm sure it wasnt like that before. What happened was that I sent my phone in for repair and they exchanged the unit meaning they must have put a new motherboard in it. They must have disassembled my phone.
So I think they must have done it when repairing the phone, not taking any care of the screen they must have damaged it as i'm sure it wasn't like that when I gave the phone in for repair.
So is this a fault or is it just random devices that get this ?
Given the link he's posted is about resistive screens I'd suggest he doesn't know what he's talking about.

mmm yeah true. So it must have been the engineers who repaired my phone then.
Damn! they don't know how to handle a phone.

For starters don't speak about me like i'm a prick. I quickly searched google for some info that describes the application of spacer dots, because to detail it myself would takes ages via my phone. I was not really intrested in the type of screen the website was talking about, as that is irrelevant. We have a projected capacitive touch panel that uses spacer dots just like a resistive screen, the only diffrence is the method the two types of touch panels use to detect touch.

I have a black dot on my screen. size of a needle head.
it's been there since I got it brand new.
I think the factory tightened a screw down to hard because it's not a dead pixel. just a pressure place. dunno.

For seconds, don't come on with a response worded as a put down to the OP and then get your facts wrong. I didn't say it but that makes you look a prick in my book.
You might've meant something different but that isn't what you said and, just in case you still think you're clever, if you were right these dots would be visible to everyone else.

Why would i put the OP down, i was trying to help, infact your the only person here that has offered no help, turn your phone screen off, stand outside under sunlight, and tell me you can't see the spacer dots
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
Infact read this article, from PC world, he talks about the spacer dots, about halfway down after crash bandicot. then STFU as it is clearly you that knows nothing about what he chats, just another forum troll running his mouth. Trying to look clever or important. Turns out your neither.

chill
why doesn't the OP take a picture and we can see what he means
use a camera and a desklamp at an acute angle
it is true that there are spacer dots on capacitive screens nevertheless
these can be seen under the correct conditions
to ascertain whether your dots are normal or not a picture is needed
I'm not talking about the spacer dots.
These are very big white marks, it looks like someones put a lot of pressure on the screen for them to appear on my screen.

Guys I have just purchased a desire HD.. its an awesum fone...but theres a little annoying issue that i have...i can see the touch matrix under sunlight or bright light when the screen is off & when the screen is on, the touch matrix can be seen as it gives off the impression of little specks of dust particles on whitish backgrounds & tilting the phone a little bit. Is this normal?
Yep that's normal, I can easily see the matrix if I look for it but in everyday use I never take notice.
You see, I like having the screen on It's only a issue if you make it a issue.
Also, there was a thread some time ago where things like these were discussed and we found out that different people have a different size matrix and different size of the dots. Mine are tiny so it's why I take no notice, most probably.

Precisely, on every capacitive touchscreen these dots matrix can be seen.
If that's dust I would take the phone back to where you got it from and demand for another one. I've heard of others saying the same thing and I assure you, there should be no dust under the screen.

Well, I see it, but only in sunlight. When there is sunlight it becomes incredibly easy to see.
I think that everybody has this issue also, but there is nothing to worry about I would hope.

I know this is a very nit picky question, but it was the first thing I noticed when I flipped open my Xperia play (to reveal controller). The gap between the screen and the left D pad "circle" is ever so slightly bigger than the gap between the screen and the right 4 button "circle". It's roughly 1mm bigger when measured. This makes it so the screen looks uneven, and my OCD kicks in there big time.
Anyones elses xperia play is like that?
Cheers.
Yes they're all like that, I have no idea why since they had room to move the screen higher (or left when open).

I noticed this pretty quickly too. Nothing that bothers me though so I have not given it any more thought.
actually i think they're quite even ..its just that there is no touchscreen/VDU on the left sign, and instead that big SEricsson text. If it was fully covered with ts/vdu , i think it wouldve looked more even

So i got my phone few days ago but yesterday i noticed something strange with the phone so wanted to know if i have a faulty device or what so the problem is when i press the left side (the whole left side but most on the top left corner) of the display the edge when i press it a little harder not hard but a little harder than a regular touch i get that rainbow effect that you would get by presing directly the display of a plazma/lcd/led tv something like a rainbow or mixed colors when you press it

Read THIS and THIS ...
"Things not considered defects:
- LCD ripple on outer intentional pressure, this seems to go away with time if the lamination is perfect"
It should be better with time ... try to overheat it and cool down for 3-4 times and it should be better ... thats because the touch and the SLCD2 are glued together.

So I understand this is a recurring issue with some AMOLED displays, but is anyone else noticing black splotches on your screen if you put a fully black image on the screen, turn the brightness all the way down, and look at your phone in a very dark room? I'm curious how common it is before I complain. I'll post a picture tomorrow if I can capture it. It looks kind of like an ink trail near the middle of my screen. Thanks!

I have a small one at the top left of the screen. My first one was right down the middle. My OCD took hold and I swapped it out. It's the same thing on my new one.
Sure, I wish it wasn't there but you really have to have perfect conditions to actually see it.
It actually has something to do with inconsistent electrical charge or something. There's actually a team for this but I can't remember it.
LCDs have dead pixels and amoleds have these splotches.
The DROID Razor is really bad as is the PS Vita. It's just that tech.

So I got gs3 a week ago and loving it so far. But I started noticing the screen has some issues.
Everytime I am on blank screen with just the back light on, I notice multiple dark circles thru back light. They are about the size of peas and you can only see them in darker room. I am trying to take a picture but still not successful.. again you can not see them in normal light or when you are looking bright images. .you can only see them on blank screen with back light on. (Examples: when you start the phone and only Samsung logo during boot. Or when you go to seetings and choose lock screen, the blank area with back light on shows the defects. )
I hope you guys don't have that issue, because it does bother me when I am using phone at night..

Common on amoled screens.

A simple Google search would of net you the answer. Those are dead pixels almost all amoled screen have does, but if they are really really big you can definitely try to get a warranty. Only thing is your next phone will probably have it too either for better or worse. If it's not too bad I would stay with the phone, technically if you don't think about it you get past it not many times you would notice it anyway.

Screen Burning or Dead Pixels?
I think what you are referring to is screen burning. This case is very common among OLED displays, kind of how plasma TV's have burns on the screen. It's there but its not that bad since this type of technology gets it (for now....the tech is still way too new). However, it helps to not keep the same picture or whatever showing for long periods of time, as this can cause a burning outline of the picture. In this I mean, something that is displayed that doesn't change. Remember some screen may get more burned then others but it will still be there. For the reason of this burning, I'll let you search it up. If that doesn't answer your problem then let me know, but if it is dead pixels (which I dont think it is) then you might want to change it. However, your problem sounds like the common problem called burning.

This is very common in all amoled screens. Same was the case with my vibrant. Since these are only visible in a dark room with a black screen, its not that big of a problem, I imagine. It's not so much a defect as it is an aspect of the screen type. Think of it like this... if you purchase a Mac over a Windows computer, it will have aspects that you dislike that the other likely won't have have. But the same is true of the Windows device (although not likely ha)...if it is a deal breaker, avoid amoled in the future.
Have this also, even on Note 2. Especially, while watching Netflix or screen is dark

You might want to exchange that. The definately isn't burning that I am talking about. So yes, go ahead and change that out. I don't have that on my phone so it looks like a defect. Those spots almost look like bloches of some sort and looks as if something had burned underneath. That or one guy said, dead pixels (which is a definate yes for exchange).
So go exchange the product and see how it goes for you.
