Is there a way to disable the Google screen with the unlocked lock at boot up? It takes my phone ages to reboot (running akop19 with black exodus theme w/ SD card boost and sysctl(?) Start up tweaks so that might be the reason it takes long to leave the boot animation). Also, my phone takes ages to switch from 3g to 4g. Sorry if this has been answered before, but is this a software issue or is this hardware? I like to have the option of LTE, but I don't use it all the time; only when my 3g is insanely slow or if I need to download something. When I switch from 3g to LTE it takes a LONG time, I'm talking 45 - 120 seconds. Sometimes it have to toggle airplane mode on and off to get it to switch, then sometimes the airplane mode gets stuck (greyed out on power menu)... reboot... forever to reboot, you get it.
Disabling the Google screen at bootup won't make the phone boot up faster..

Hi,
This might be a dumb question.
On normal situation with Android phone:
When I turn on my device from sleep, I could not see the 3G icon ... Only the signal strength. Then after couple of seconds, the 3G icon came up.
My phone works like this since I have it.
My question, does this mean the 3G data is also sleep when the phone sleep? Because when I wake it up, the 3G icon does not immediately come back.
Thanks.
Yes, it does disconnect after a period of inactivity (if you look at the android logs) when the phone is in sleep mode. There is a setting which you may not have enabled. it goes on the lines of 'Enable always on mobile data' under wireless and network options.
However if the phone needs to connect to the net, then i think it will re-connect in that time period. This is what you see when the 3G icon appears after a few seconds on wake up. I have always seen the phone to do this.
Allright,
I was thinking if this kind of app is really necessary:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7547017
But, I guess, it is useful because during the sleep mode, some app might require internet access (email sync for example).
Maybe....The only reason i say this is that the OS will start a new network connection in the background even when the phone is sleeping...thats how your emails are sync'd and so is everything else...
Ive noticed an annoying glitch with the Airplane Mode toggle, if I put it into airplane mode as I would at night, the following morning it wont re- connect and I have to toggle it on then reboot the phone to connect. This gets old pretty quick Any ideas? I'm on T-mobile contract and dont use Blur.
I've got a similar glitch where when I turn off airplane mode, the phone connects to the 3g data network even if 3g data is disabled in the options

Well... next time this happens try this for the hell of it: INFO (*#*#4636#*#* on dial pad) > Phone information > scroll down to "radio" and see if it is OFF. Turn it on and see if it then works.
Or... after you shut off airplane mode, have you tried turning on wifi? What happens?

Just tried this while radio still active (airplane mode off, i.e phone normal) amd hit Dial. Got a Running USSD code message then an error message, something like wrong MMI. No Phone information or options ( must only work when airplane mode is on)
Hey there,
I'm using S-off and oxygen 2.2 on my rooted desire and I have a big problem:
Always when I press the power button so that the screen goes off and than turn it on again by pressing it again after some time (20 secs or so) I see that wlan is turned off and the cellular data connection is used. Shortly after the screen went on, WLAN is on again. Is this some default behaviour to save battery? Is wlan really more battery comsuming than the providers data connection?
The problem which arises now is: I'm using http://www.appbrain.com/app/unlock-at-home-using-wifi/com.accedo.unlockathome which unlocks in a certain wifi and locks, when going out of whitelisted wifi networks. When I press power to turn off the screen and the wlan is disconnected after some short time, the screen gets locked and somehow I think that the screen gets on shortly after this. This causes the wifi to connect again and than after turning off again the wifi gets disconnected again. Thus after the lock applications locks the screen and thus shows it again... -> infinite loop. every now and than (i think about once a minute) I see the screen go on and quickly after it off again.
how to fix that?
Do you have something like Juice Defender installed?
Check the sleep policy.
Swyped from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
Set wifi sleep policy to never, under wifi advanced settings.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

Nope i havent!
@k3lcior: strangely it's already set to never and though I often see the cellular data icon appear also when I use the phone (e.g. when writing an sms) and directly disappear again there's to be a problem I think with something on my phone!?
Hi,
I've got the latest FW and am running on DooMLoRD's kernel #8 (now on #9), min/max 256/1209MHz and everything was fine until a couple of days ago when some random Force closes started appearing, and today I experienced SIM lock skips. By that I mean that when my phone boots, it shows SIM lock screen, but after a few seconds it continues to main screen without me entering the code. This second thing started happening after I've installed WidgetLock Lockscreen.
The phone also didn't allow me to connect to my operator. It showed me a toast message Your SIM card can't connect to this operator, or something along that line.
Also, some system apps started FCing, and when I was receiving a call, I saw only the notification bar and black screen, thus could not answer. My phone usually vibrates for a few seconds, then starts ringing, and a bit after that shows the screen with who's calling and the answer/reject slide bar (this whole action is way too slow :/ ).
I went into recovery mode and restored one of the backups, then turned on my phone and everything was alright. After that I restored the newest backup from today and now everything seems to be in its place.
Any ideas what might have been the problem? The call screen delay is still there (it show up after 10 seconds of ringing + a second or two to be able to answer). Is that normal? I also noticed that with WL Locksreen enabled I have to wait SEVENTEEN seconds to be able to see the call screen and answer the call.
sometimes AND I MEAN SOMETIMES ONLY but its annoying the watch will show the lock icon as if it is locked and i set the lock to auto .. anyways when i turn it on and want to unlock it the pattern/pin wont appear and technically its not locked sometimes the pattern/pin would appear but others no i dont know why it would show the icon
in addition whenever i go to sleep i usually put it in airplane mode but i recently noticed even if i put it in airplane mode it will still connect to my phone/wifi i have to turn off airplane mode and turn it on again
but these issues usually go after a restart but its annoying i tried resting it multiple times but still ..
im on wear os 2.13.0.19981996 and there is no updates
