[REQUEST] Vibrate on Call Connect - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

It's a feature on Sense devices, and CM ROMs, and I was hoping if someone has found an app that does this. For those who haven't used a Sense device or CM or even WM device, it basically just vibrates for a couple of milliseconds as soon as the call connects. It's useful because you can just hold it rather than wait with it in ear or leave it on a table. All my google searches have come up empty handed ):. Unless I missed something; does anybody know an app that has this function?

+1 I always had this on my SGS2, really miss it.

+1 here, i was able to get this feature by using Touchpal dialer, however, since i updated to 4.0.4, it no longer works. any other help ?

if you install Go Launcher and then in phone settings you can activate vibration. even if you don't use go dialer will vibrate when you answer. I'm not developer but i think some mod for reg could resolve the problem,

Search "CallVibrate" on the Play Store it works for me

Vibrate on connect call

One of the greatest feature in HTC phones for me, was the Vibrate on connect feature. Basically the phone vibrates slightly when the person you are calling answers , if you are not holding the phone to your ear. As long as the screen is turned off the phone does not before as it "thinks" you are holding it at your ear.
Is there any way to enable something like this on the GNexus? I couldn't find an app to for this.
Maybe one of the talented devs around here are interested in doing a mod to enable this function?
Cyanogenmod has this feature. I'm unsure if it is present in cm9 as its still relatively new, but it was definitely in cm7

I cant belive that there is no option for this on GN .. (stock rom)

I actually did give that one a try earlier today. The vibrate on call end worked for me, but the vibrate on call connect did not work at all (stock ICS). The app has several different "vibration mode settings" to try if it isn't working on your phone, but I had no luck with any of the different settings.
I emailed the developer, so hopefully they get back to me.
i'm missing this feature too!

I had this feature on the OG Droid through the KickBack, which was installed when I switched to a cyanogenmod 7 rom... KickBack says that it's deprecated/included in ICS, but I can't find a setting for this feature anywhere on my GN (4.0.4 stock rooted). I would really love to have this feature back, just so I don't have to stare at my phone until it starts actually dialing.

[Q] Anyone use Llama?

I just downloaded and setup Llama. So far it has been very handy in letting me adjust my settings based on whether I am at work or home.
However, I attempted to setup an event to toggle GPS on when I open the Maps application and to turn off GPS when I close the application. However, it doesn't do so! It did note that it cannot do this on ICS as the permissions to do so have changed. However, via Google Search, I did find some mention of it working for some people but they didn't say how.
Anyone here able to do that? If so, how? If not, any other suggestions (Tasker?) on how I can accomplish this?
It doesn't work on stock. Use custom ROM like CM.

You probably already got your answer or quit looking by now but you can toggle gps. You need to use the Secure Settings plugin from the Play Store. I think you might need to be a root user to unlock all the functionality as was mentioned before but mine works like a charm now.
Another great find for me was using the Smart Shortcuts app so that when I plug in my headphones, llama turns down my volume to a manageable level and pops up a list of apps (pandora, google music, stitcher...) I use my headphones with. I do the same for when I plug in any USB, it pops up with a link to care home or clock or my alarm app because I'm usually only plugging in at night or in the car.
I just wish I had some other ideas to look through. I'm sure there is a lot more this thing can do that I'm not thinking about.

I think there is an explanation in the app. Google changed how gps could be toggled. I gave up turning off gps a long time ago. It really only uses power when an app requests it and judging by the notification it's not very often. By default llama uses cell towers, but I use wifi to pin point my location. That way my Bluetooth doesn't turn off until I reach my driveway.

[Q] Priority List or Smart Silent App

My phone is almost always switched to silent. But I would love to have calls or notifications from certain vip or priority contacts come through at any given time.
Can anyone recommend an app or procedure on how to achieve that?
I tried 2 apps from the Playstore that promise to achieve that, Priority Notifications Lite and Smart Silent Beta, but both don't seem to work on JB 4.1.1. The first one has UI issues and the 2nd one crashes instantly and isn't updated in months.
I emailed the developers, but maybe someone has meanwhile an existing and working solution already, which I overlooked? I would be very happy with the Thanks button for any recommendations and ideas!

AOSP CM10 DTMF issue ie touch tone menus

Noticed on CM10.1 4.2.1 4.2.2 ROM's that when you call into voicemail or banking menu that requires you to press the dial pad to enter in menus options and account number info doesn't work.
I was able to fix it by turning dial tone touch sounds off in the dialer options. Just thought I'd let you all know in cause someone else is having this issue since a Google search brought up really vague results.
Hope I posted in the right place. Move if needed.

Actually, they work with the tones on. You just need to press and hold the keys a little longer to allow the other end to capture the tone.

I had same problem with liquidsmooth 2.1 RC2, and disabling touch sounds fixed the problem. However now that I upgraded to liquidsmooth 2.1 stable, the workaround does not work anymore. Neither does holding button, it's a set DTMF tone length. my voicemail is useless now. anyone have any idea on how to solve this problem?
UPDATE:
I did some more research, and the only thing I can think is the standard aosp phone.apk is used in both roms. I did find a feature request for it. (URL Below) So let me get this straight, my new phone cant dial a voicemail? or use a touch tone menu for calling tech support?
I would post this in developer forums, as there has been many questions lately about this problem, but I'm not allowed because I'm a noob. Guess I won't find a solution to this problem anytime soon. Seems I cant post links either......

[R] Disable blocking of notification panel in car mode?

I really like the HTC's Car app, but there's one thing that drives me nuts. It disables the notification pulldown, which makes things like skipping a track (or any number of other things) much more difficult than it should be. Does anyone know of a way to fix this? If there's not a known workaround, would any devs be willing to look at modifying this behavior? I'd be willing to donate a bit for it...
I think HTC did this as a safety precaution because when it was allowed, you could access anything that popped up and wasn't "drive friendly".
However, I'd love to know if this possible. For example, getting back to navigation after switching back to music takes three or four taps.

I'm definitely interested in this too. Blocked notification bar is driving me nuts!

Another vote from me to enable it please. On the one x it was blocked on the car launcher but launch a third party app and you had access to it again. Damn annoying as it is now.
lol i just dont use the default HTC car mode. use car home ultra. works like 100 times better and allows for notification bar AND it has default home too
I like Car Home Ultra, but it doesn't read your texts out loud and allow you to respond without ever looking at your phone. If I could do that with CHU I'd switch in a heartbeat.
In case anyone else is still interested in this, someone has finally released an Xposed module to correct these issues! It's called "Car Xposed" and it makes the Car app work exactly like it should! :good::good:
