if you have the version from samsung apps can you post it please? I found one on internet but its not the same version which comes with sgs 2. it must be pretty old I dont even know if they even updated that app.
Yh, id also like to see the version from the S2 posted here.
I think the version for the S2 might be slightly different as the video editor from samsung apps only works on the 2.2 roms and not the 2.3 roms.

You can find the complete system folder from galaxy s 2. I tried to install email.apk and video editor.apk but it doesn't let. I also copied them in system/apps folder but still doesn't show up in the app drawer.
I don't know why it can't even install. Maybe someone has to port it?
The interface and functionality is superb for Video Maker on the S2. The only problem -- and it is a big problem -- is that the transitions do not work at all well. It's not at all smooth doing a dissolve, for example, and even just cutting between two clips on the timeline, and rendering into one movie, causes the second clip on the timeline to start from a "paused" position for a second, when it should be a competely smooth transition from one moving clip to another moving clip. Really hoping Samsung can fix this ... it's v v smooth on imovie for iphone4 with lesser hardware.
Hello, I have the SGS2 but my friend doesn't! He's got a Dell Streak. I was just wondering if there was a way to get the APK for the program monitor / active applications widget? He really liked it. It looks a lot better than a lot of the other apps on the market. I'm not rooted or anything, I like it stock. Is there a way to get it? Or can anyone else upload it? Or do you know where I could DL it?
Thanks a bunch
Program Monitor is a TouchWiz widget, so it will only work on a device using the TW launcher.
His options would be to either use a substitute app (I recommend Active Apps) or try and use the TW 4.5 Launcher.
+1, Active apps is great.

but i think u dnt need it anymore
i just flashed the latest CM7 and it doesnt come with the samsung apps and i want them like the dialer and the camera app and and the contacts app and the task manager.
does anyone have a flashable zip of them?
They depend on touchwiz. They won't work on cm7.

I'm not sure what samsung apps were on the device other than their custom versions of the PIM apps like calendar. I like the calendar that is loaded with CM7 much better. I had thought about trying to restore the samsung apps app that was like a catalog of apps since I never really checked it out. But if everything in it needs touchwiz then it won't be of any use to me. Assuming it otherwise would be of any use to me.
I am trying to create a ROM for the SGH-T989D and I would like to use a combination of Touchwiz apps (dialer, contacts) and AOSP apps (mms, calendar). I was wondering if the apks can simply be put into the system/app folder or if special tweaking of the framework is required to get them to play nice with each other. I am starting from the Telus stock ICS ROM.
I would appreciate any help in this matter.

Some might play nicely. But you will most likely have to edit each apk to make them work. And if you're cooking a cm10 ROM, good luck. Since touch wiz is ics, and cm10 is jelly bean. You will have many issues with force closes and even the app installing

Well, coming over from the Captivate Glide forums, I'd like to say that I'm enjoying most of the changes done over the years but there's a few negatives I've noticed.
I bought my Note II on swappa and it was on 4.1.1. I tried updating over Kies, and recovery gave me a red warning saying "unsupported version." After crying and fighting Kies and Odin, I finally got 4.4.2 stock from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2-att/development/rom-att-i317-ucucnj1-mj4-stock-odex-t2973448 and with that being stable for me, I started working on getting all my apps.
My Recommended Apps:
Flashlight: To Activate the Torch widget
AcDisplay: Minimalistic Lockscreen
Amazon Kindle: ebooks
ArtFlow: drawing
Pandora: music
Textra: alternate text/sms
Themer: amazing themes
So, I thought I'd start my introduction to the Note II community and hopefully finding out what's good and bad on the Note II and what apps, themes, and ROMs for daily drivers ya'll recommend to use.
Welcome to the Forums I'm more of a lurker here on XDA but I've had a note II for over 3 years and use this site frequently!
Thanks for the app list! Been looking for an app like Artflow for a while now!
My Recommended Apps:
1) Nova Launcher (polished customizable launcher)
2)VSCO Cam (Photo editing, with tons of presets)
3)Keep (Create notes, lists, to-do lists)
4)Power Toggles (since stock doesn't have data on/off from drop down menu)
6)DoubleTwist (Music player with podcasts)
