Hi all,
its bad, that i must ask you, but idk what i can do know
I have unlocked my bootloader via HTCDev.com. All is fine. I have installed CustomRom and CustomRecovery and so on.
Then i read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457992
and flashed the radio.img extracted from rom_01.zip.
After this i was unlocked, but still s-on. Then i had the problem: my phone wants start. All its easy i thought, i had an nandroid-backup. So i boot into HBOOT and select recovery. Then i was shocked. The same comes like the boot into normal rom.
The phone was in a bootloop in splash screen.
No recovery possible. So i thought, i can flash the recovery new. I download the unofficial clockworkmod. Then i try to boot into recovery, but the same bootloop.
Then i tried to flash the RZR recovery. The recovery starts, but after seconds it comes the splashbootloop.
Now i extracted rom_02.zip and flash via HBOOT. Now i try again to boot into recovery: same bootloop.
Then i flash the boot.img of the official RUU (2.13.x) and the recovery. After this i see the red !. I restart phone and try to go in recovery, but same bootloop.
Then i install the cwm recovery again. I can start once into recovery, but i can't mount the sdcard.
So, i have all did, what i know. Has anyone an idea?
Download this
http://www.mediafire.com/?t28abu6pd5835e3
Extract the ROM.zip file
Rename to PG76IMG.zip
Put it at the root of the SD card
Boot into recovery
What is that, the name is gingerbread, but idk if it is working for that.
And i can't reboot into recovery
But i will try!
You are very funny, thats are only the extracted files of the ruu and not the best help, bc i have used the ruu, not better
I have no better idea sorry.
Well, what I would try in that situation is:
extract rom01 and rom02, rename it to PG76IMG.zip and flash them both together. use a card reader to access sd card.
then, go to fastboot and flash boot, system and recovery from the latest official EU ruu.
then flash custom recovery.
unfortunately there's no way to fastboot-flash the radio images, although they are signed.

Can you get to fastboot USB?
I would say download this... and flash from SD card (Gold card)
It's RUU 2.13 2.3.5 EU
Hope it works and you'll also be the 1000'th downloader so that makes you a winner already!
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
DS
How i flash this. If i use PG76IMG.zip in SD-Card it says:
Main version is older
And if i try to flash via fastboot update PG76IMG.zip
if says error while openening package.
Maybe i can unpack this package and edit android-info to edit the mainversion and repack, but then the radio wont flash
I sent the phone to amazon, they sent it to arvarto in germany, and i hope, that nobody found that it is unlocked.

with a big fat *** UNLOCKED *** inside the HBOOT screen? Good luck.
Maybe they don't boot into hboot. It is very expensive to pay employee's and better to change the phone
I had to send my wildfire back because of a broken charge port, they rebuilt the phone with new parts. They'll find out. They'll probably still fix it but charge you more.

I'll run through a history:
- Rooted my phone to S-OFF and installed a custom ROM
- Installed another custom ROM after running a 'super wipe' script
- Decided I wanted to go back, tried to get to clockworkmod recovery but I couldn't get to hboot
- Tried to re-root, got halfway and it failed. I could now get to hboot but when I get to clockworkmod recovery it shows an error logo with a danger triangle sign. When I try to boot it just stays on the HTC logo.
- The first time I tried to load Clockworkmod it said it couldn't access some /cache/ directory and now it just shows the warning icon with no error message.
I think I need to reinstall Clockworkmod, then use that to reinstall a ROM. I heard it's possible to do this by flashing a zip file from the SDcard and loading hboot. How can I do this?
Thanks!

That red triangle is HTC's recovery mode. You should manage to get root via one click root and then flash clockwork normally. In the app.
Thanks. What exactly is one click root? Have googled it but not sure which it is.
I think you might mean this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
But that seems to require that I can boot into a ROM in the first place? I can't get past the HTC logo at all.

No that is S-OFF. You need S-OFF if you want to flash custom rom. This is what I meant http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
Thanks again. Just to clarify, on hboot it tells me it's 'S-OFF' at the top of the screen. I should run the one click utility anyway, right?
I don't think superone click works on dhd but I could be wrong. Haven't read up on it in a long time.
But back to original question on hand. I made a guide in the general section for this exact issue. It titled stuck in hboot. Their I have a link for cwr in a pd98 format(flashable through hboot).
It should work for you. I did notice that the modelid in the txt is different but was told it should work for dhd with no modification but I have not confirmed as I have an inspire. If it doesn't work let me know and ill make the change quickly and uplaod a new one. Its a simple change. If you want to can try. Simply change the model I'd to pd98100000 from pd9812000
Thank you, I will try that now.
...And it worked! Thanks all

I have a similar problem. I tried to flash a galaxy rom on to my htc evo 4g and now my phone wont boot up. I actually need instructions on how to do this. When I try to flash recovery it goes into HBOOT and also goes into bootloader. But when I try recovery it goes to the white HTC Evo 4g screen and immediately goes back to Hboot. Iv tried to download a clockworkmod custom recovery img and flash it as a PC36IMG zip. It finds the zip and says parsing PC36IMG but doesn't ask if I want to flash it and goes back into bootloader. I renamed the recovery image "Recovery" and the Zip "PC36IMG" as instructed from a different website. I can ONLY use this method because my micro port is broken.
Also when I downloaded the recovery image there were two choices. Recovery image and recovery touch image. We should I go with?

I tell you how to over come this:
1) Throw your phone into the trash can
2) Buy a new one
3) Come back to xda
4) Read all the tutorials once again
5) Read them again
6) Re-read them
7) Now do whatever you want.
This method works perfectly for any noob...

Sorry but what are you talking about an EVO 4g in the DHD forums??...BTW, in the zip file you need a .txt file to be able to be flashed. If that file is missing then the hboot will never detect the .zip file.
Besides, if you have an unlocked bootloader you won't be able to flash recovery in that way. You can do it using fastboot flash commands...
hey guys! I have an HTC One V and I can't find the correct RUU for my phone... Here's what it says on the bootloader:
Code:
PRIMOC PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.53.0000
RADIO-1.00.00.0928
eMMC-boot
May 14 2012,20:27:38
I've tried using factory restore, using all backups, but to no avail.
BACKSTORY TIME!
So after a while of having the bootloader unlocked and rooted, I decided I wanted to try and install a custom kernel. I was told here that I could install JMZ's custom kernel. Well, after following his instructions to the TEE, I was stuck in a boot loop. After a little bit of research and hair tearing, I found this page but I can't seem to find the RUU to download.
I don't know where to start, so that's why I'm asking here! If you could direct me to where I need to go, that'd help me a lot + I'll thank you I'm hoping someone could help me by today, because I have to go to school tomorrow [snow day today ] and really can't live without my phone.
Here are the symptoms that I think why the radio partition is the problem:
I went here, hoping I could find a fix, but can't find the RUU
I've seen on some other posts that people have trouble with the 1.00.00.0928 radio version, and somehow downgraded to .0521, but I don't know how they did this.
Tried factory restore
tried using backups
tried extracting the ROM.zip from RUU, then putting it on the SD card, then booting into HBOOT, renamed the file via TWRP recovery, rebooted into HBOOT again, and let it acknowledge the file "PK75IMG.zip", and install that, but it still reboots.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

So tonight around 6pm EST I noticed that there was a Cyanogen mod nightly for my wife's Verizon htc one. I also noticed that there was an update function so I decided to give it a try. However, I didn't realize I had yet to make a backup of her current ROM. I thought I had done this when I originally rooted the phone... HUGE MISTAKE NUMBER 1. Once the update was flashed it gave me an error and began boot looping. I tried to find the original version of Cyanogen but could not locate it on the device. Since the HTC One doesn't have an SD card and I Don't have the special OTG USB I couldn't get the storage to mount to add a new ROM. After 2 hours of searching I was finally able to Push a ROM to her device but I kept getting an E: Error executing updater binary... <--- this error I researched only to find that I couldn't flash the rom I was trying to lash in the latest TWRP recovery.
ALL I want to do now is to flash a new recovery to the phone so I can install a ROM and get this paperweight working again.
Can someone please explain to me STEP by STEP what to do here?

It depends on what you are trying to do. You said you wanted to flash a new recovery, so go ahead and do it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2416431
If you want to revert back to stock, go ahead and do that too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475216
But I say your best bet is to just push a ROM in recovery. Are you S-Off?
Also, what commands are you doing to push a ROM? Is the E: drive where your SDK toolkit located?
Karn101,
What ROM and RECOVERY would you suggest I flash?
I had the TWRP 2.6.3.4 touch recovery installed but for some reason it would not allow me to install the following 2 ROMS
1. Google Edition HTC One VZW [KITKAT]
2. Inverted-EclipticONE-KitKat-v1.2
When I did this I kept getting the E: Error executing updater binary which really had me as a loss.
To answer your question I am S-OFF it says UNLOCKED M7_WLV PVT SHIP S-OFF RH @ the bootloader screen.
HBOOT Version is 1.54.000
Also when I was pushing a ROM I was using some commands I found in a guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2354259
I followed some of the steps on here with no luck...
Also I attempted to flash several recoveries from Fast boot with the Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img in the command promt. It shows that the files was sent but the phone just get stuck at the bootloader saying loading recovery at the top in blue font.
Can you walk me through each step on this? I need to get a recovery on there first them push a ROM to the device and install it via the recovery.... I am assuming that would be the easiest method.
If your s-off can't you flash the Ruu in fastboot? Maybe that will help

I suggest this as well.
also
"brick" means phone is dead. you're phone turns on..
not a brick.
what i did once when i couldnt flash RUU was it should work S-On and well Its got to work on S-Off
1-Download TWRP recovery also the System.img and boot.img
2-Rename TWRPRecovery6.3xx.img to Recovery.img
3-Flash recovery in fastboot fastboot flash recovery Recovery.img
4-boot into recovery via fastboot fastboot boot recovery.img
This will boot your device into the custom recovery
5-press Backup
6-swipe to confirm
7-after it's done making a backup
8-navigate back to the home screen
9-press Advanced
10-press Mount
11-check the box next to USB-OTG
This will allow to mount your sdcard into the computer and you can copy the system.img from the RUU
12-open folder TWRP open folder BACKUPS ETC ETC until you get to the folder with the backup you just made
13-delete the system.ext4.win delete the system.ext4.win.md5
14-copy the system.img here abd rename it to
15-system.ext4.win
16-then unmount
17-then navigate back to the home page in the recovery and
18-press Restore
19-then choose that backup and swipe to confirm
20-also recommend fastbooting the boot.img
this is what i did when i couldnt get any rom to flash any roms via recovery nor a i could do a RUU saved my phone.
I have been trying to flash TWRP 2.7.1.0 on my Wildfire S, but failed. It just goes back to CWM 5.0.2.8. I stupidly went to wipe data in recovery, and now my recovery is corrupted. When I try to mount USB storage, it gives me
Code:
E:Unable to write to ums lunfile (No such file or directory)
I tried fastboot, but since I'm running Windows 8.1, HTC drivers won't install. I have tried most solutions but they all don't work. Is there a way I can flash the recovery from my computer?

It should not detect too. Odin is for samsung phones. To reinstall the recovery you can try to flash by the PG76100.zip method. Get a recovery in a zip, place it on root of sdcard and boot to bootloader.
BTW how are you sure that your recovery is corrupted? It is really a very weird thing for the recovery to be corrupted.

Yes you can just go to bootloader and it will check for the file and prompt to install it. And what do you mean by not working as intended? Are you trying to flash CM11 then it will require at least CWM6 or TWRP 2.7

You don't need to factory reset after the recovery. Was there any errors while flashing? Try a fresh start like --> Install another recovery, if it installs then all well but if it does not then find the correct RUU for your model and flash it. You'll need to redo everything you did to root your phone after this. BTW are you sure you wiped system and data? Both of them and before flash not after.

6. Tried creating own PG76IMG.zip with TWRP 2.7.0.0 inside, CID error when flashed in hboot
7. Ran RUU to get ROM.zip, transferred to SD card as PG76IMG.zip, flashed in hboot. (Wiped data before flashing)
8. Phone won't boot, recovery problem automagically ended

Creating the PG76IMG.zip by your own would not work as the necessary info file is not inside. Take the zip I attached and replace the recovery.img inside with which recovery you want. And don't replace the android-info.txt. That's the one you're missing now.

Creating the PG76IMG.zip by your own would not work as the necessary info file is not inside. Take the zip I attached and replace the recovery.img inside with which recovery you want. And don't replace the android-info.txt. That's the one you're missing now.

There's no zip attached, but anyway, thanks for your solutions, I fixed my problem by flashing recovery from fastboot by borrowing a Windows 7 laptop from my friend
I have a soft-bricked HTC One M8, It happened when I was attempting to return the phone to stock android with stock kernel and stock recovery while relocking the bootloader, none of that is really important though what happened is I had a bad flash and the phone got put into a bootloader loop with no OS. It still had an Unlocked bootloader with S-Off. Once it was in a bootloader loop I was able to download a custom recovery via fastboot commands, the phone can now go into TWRP but it will only boot version 2.7.0.0 - earlier versions don't boot at all and newer versions will boot but are non-responsive/have no display.
Once in TWRP 2.7.0.0 I use push command from adb to load a stock android RUU zip into my MicroSD, I attempt to flash it via TWRP 2.7.0.0 but get a failed response. I have cleared everything and TWRP 2.7.0.0 is having trouble mounting /data/. I tried using using push command through adb to put a newer version of TWRP on my MicroSD so that TWRP could flash it but TWRP was unable to do so. Any version of Clockwork Mod has been unsuccessful to boot.
Essentially TWRP 2.7.0.0 can't flash anything or mount anything for me, I believe I need either a newer version or a different recovery, but no other recovery or twrp version seems to be able to boot correctly.
Any tips, advice, or general help would be extremely appreciated. I try to help myself before asking others and I don't know what else I can do, I have searched the forums for every relevant thread possible and tried many many things to get this to work with no success. Thank you for reading.

That's not how to flash an RUU.zip
This is how it is done.
Make sure that your extSD is formatted to FAT32 first. It won't work otherwise.
After the format, rename the zip to 0P6BIMG.zip (that's a zero, not the letter) and place it onto the root of your card.
Boot into bootloader (Turn off you phone, then boot it up while holding power + vol down) and select hboot if it doesn't do that automatically.
Follow the prompts (vol up to flash ~ power to reboot)
That's it. Super easy.
Make sure to delete the renamed file from your extSD, otherwise every time you boot to hboot, it'll try to update again.

Hello, thank you for your reply, I was traveling for holidays and have been working on the phone for the past couple of days and have run into alot of trouble doing what you say here, any help would be greatly appreciated I'm at the end of my rope with this phone. I got the 0P6BIMG.zip RUU and loaded it onto my Fat.32 formatted SD Card , I loaded the card into the phone and followed the fastboot options to flash, it recognized the RUU and attempted to flash it but said the model ID was incorrect. I opened up the zip and sure enough the android-info.txt file in the RUU does not list my model number and I cannot put my model number into it because it is an htc encrypted zip that will not let me change the file properties of the archive. I thought about trying to put the HTC into developer kernel so that my model ID would line up with that of the RUU info file but I did something (don't know what I did) and now fastboot won't even recognize the device (fastboot devices command shows nothing when phone is in fastboot USB mode).
My mid is 0P6B20000
My cid is VZW_001

My goodness, I looked for this RUU everywhere, I would type in my mid and cid into google, I checked the One m8 archive of RUU's in that XDA thread, I couldn't find it. I don't know how you did, but you just saved my phone! Im booted into Android 4.4.2, receiving texts and everything. I'll figure out if I'm safe to update android later, I'm just so happy to have a working phone again. I gave you a thanks but do you have a contribution link or anything I could give to? You have helped me out tremendously.

I gave you an old RUU link. Sorry.
You can get the 5.0.1 RUU.zip from here if you want to update. It would be good to do it now, since running the RUU wipes your device, and yours is already wiped.
I've sent a PM with a donation link.
Thank you!
