If I speak to someone on loudspeaker they always complain they can hear themselves talking,I never had this problem with any other phone, so why this? :s

Hi,
with my phone i have no problem regarding this; i'm on codename android 1.1.4 with minimalistic kernel 1.7.1 and i have no problem at all using loudspeakers (no echo to the caller). This happen also in stock rom.
So, let's try another rom (maybe stock first) and then compare the result. So basically you have two choices: phone related problem (meaning hardware) or software problem (menaing rom - and in this case is kernel related).....

Thanks I'll give it a try with my friends phone to try and eliminate whether it's a ROM related problem

Maybe it's a hardware fault with my phone then :/

I tested this with a friend several times and it the device performed well.
In fact I could not even tell when he had switched from speakerphone to handset.

Here's the deal. I have one of the gnex's that had the bad 4g radio and couldn't stay connected to the network logger than 10 minutes. The jb update finally came and fixed. Scared to flash custom Rom in fear old problem might return. Has anyone had one the previously faulty phone and has since flashed a custom Rom with success?

You have nothing to lose but some time if you flash something and don't like it. If the update fixed your problem, almost all custom roms will be using an android version at least equal to what you are running now (most probably newer). You can make a nandroid to restore if you find you have problems with whatever rom you flash. If you don't want to do that, you can always use the factory images posted by google and restore your phone back to the version you are using now. Updated radios probably helped more than anything in a kernel or /system (which is all most custom roms contain - I don't think I've ever seen any that contain radios for the galaxy nexus).
Now running liquid smooth. 4g still strong thanks for the info.

I was a long time cm10 user and with my new Subaru wrx I could get track information on the OEM head unit when streaming Bluetooth audio.
I upgraded to a stock 4.2.1 ROM and now that ability is gone.
Is this a kernel issue or ROM issue? If I switched over to, say Trinity, would I get that feature back? I really hate to drop the stock kernel because its rock solid.
Or, do I need to switch back to cm10(cm10.1)?

It's a rom issue I think

I tried AK kernel and just ended up with issues lol.
First, it was the pgm version and whenever I tried swiping the screen it would turn on with an amber tint.. Wtf??
Then, I made a phone call and the screen went unresponsive...
So I'm back to stock and zero issues.

AVRC 1.3 is needed for this. CM10 has it, otherwise look for another ROM

I have the same issue. The GS3 showed the info on my Sony head unit but the galaxy nexus doesn't. It does with cm10 I believe.

Yeah, I wish more the aosp built roms would cherry-pick the avrcp 1.3 code. I'm hoping to go back to CM 10 (actually 10.1 now) once it's stable.
Maybe I am wrong but I thought it is also a matter of the audio player you are using. With some of them it doesn't seem to work (according to car forums I read).

You're right, but it's Google Music.. it worked before with CM10 but not with a vanilla build of 4.2.x... Google, for whatever reason, left it out even though it supports this feature.
I'll switch over to CM10.1, as they had it included in CM10, once it becomes rock solid stable.

I'm on rasbean and it doesn't do it either. In fact I have never accomplished this feat without a stock rom. (on the rezound and thunderbolt anyway, the nexus was only stock for 5 mins.)

I've seen some people are having this issue including myself i think it might be an app problem.
I am having the same issue, and running Task650's rom. I wish I could fix this.

Search in tasks AOKP thread..I remember this being an issue but can't say it has been fixed. Just search "pandora"

Yeah, he basically said it was Pandora's fault, even though I have a Skyrocket on 4.2.2, a S2 on 4.2.2 and a HTC on 4.2.2 and those three work so I tried SlimBean for the hell of it in my S3 and it magically worked again, it is an issue with his rom in some way. I still use his rom because it works great but SlimBean was damn close.

Unless you provide a logcat, there's nothing Task can do about it and has to assume it's a problem with the app. He doesn't provide support for 3rd party app (nor should he).

Multiple log cats were brought to his attention, it was the apps fault instantly. I gave up because he has a great rom and I have donated to him for his great work. I just go online to Pandora and change my lineup.

Hello, I have the T-Mobile (SGH-T889) Note 2, and I flashed version 3.99 of ParanoidAndroid ROM from Galaxy Note 2 root.com, a few weeks back. While I love the features, I am having a few issues with it.
1. It’ll randomly reboot the phone.
2. A lot of times, the System UI will force close, along with a few other apps.
3. Someone else mentioned the slow typing, I am also experiencing this problem. It just cannot simply keep up.
4. The sound is VERY LOW. On any and everything, and at the maximum volume setting despite it being low, there is a lot of distortion in the speaker.
5. It’ll tell me that y SD card is damaged one day, but then it’s not the next and I still have all my files.
Other than these 5 issues, I love this ROM. I don’t know if I flashed it the wrong way but, it’s getting aggravating and making me wish that I never left the TouchWIZ ROM I previously had.
Also, I just noticed that in the section About Phone, it says GT-N7105. I don't know how that may have happened, or if that may be the issue.
Hopefully someone can assist me in getting this issue resolved. Thanks in advance.
Switch to neak kernel to fix the sound and see if the others go away at the same time. most those should be fixed with a different kernel

Thanks again... I assume that I'd need to download "v1.6x CM10.1 & Derivates Zip" for my device correct?
Sorry if I'm asking a lot, I'm new to the whole Kernel flashing world, and I don't want to mess up my phone.
Every ROM I have tried running 4.4.4 loses data completely after several hours of use and will not com back on.
I know this is a vague description of my problem but, is there just a signal issue with the beginning the first batches of 4.4.4?

I am using CM11 (Android 4.4.4) without any issues since early releases. You might be having some issues with hardware or default factory system files.

use shiny 4.4.4 or PA 4.42. They don't have an issue as i have used them. may be its your coverage? which kernel are you using?
may be sim card issue?
