For anybody that uses WidgetLocker... - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Are you able to power off your phone from the lockscreen? On my nexus it seems that all the buttons have been disabled.
I am on stock 4.0.1 ICS btw and I have noticed the same thing with my galaxy tab 10.1.

Not me. The option comes up, but wont accept a touch.

Is WidgetLocker updated to android 4.0 yet? I'd definitely would be using it...hmmm

ICS source code became available, when? Nov 14? Last WidgetLocker update was only Nov 18 and description makes no reference to ICS. I'd say no, it is not fully updated for compatibility with ICS yet.
I have the same results as described above by OP. That's really the only problem I have though. Otherwise it is working fine on ICS.

Widgetlocker works just fine for me, and I am in fact able to make use of the buttons from the power menu.
Stock & rooted 4.02

Yeah I can't click the pop up buttons either, can't remember ever needing to though so it doesn't bother me.

Yea it doesnt bother me much either, it was just a little inconvenience i noticed while using it. Its only an extra second to unlock the phone and then press the power button.
Just wanted to know if I was the only one.

sometimes i can, sometimes i can't, it's not consistent
(stock rom, unrooted)

Sorry to get OT, but I CANNOT get handcent to pop up messages over Widgetlocker now. It worked on Gingerbread. Any suggestions would be awesome as the dev of Widgetlocker just ignored my email.
If I could set a custom lock screen wall paper and add widgets to the stock unlock screen I would have no use for widgetlocker, but as for now...I love it. Just this one issue.
In an attempt to contribute, No, I cannot. I push "Power off" but it will not work unless I unlock and then do it. I am on stock 4.0.2.

the only thing bothering me from the current version of widgetlocker is the lock screen comes up when I am on a phone call...
i have to unlock the screen in order to end a call

the Handcent popup works fine for me when WidgetLocker is on the lock screen. i don't remember changing any setting in WidgetLocker to make this work. are you using the latest version of Handcent (3.9.10) from the market?

I have a question for all of you - have any of you tried to use WidgetLocker on a custom ROM?

Yes, and it will pop up if the phone is on and at the home screen or in an app, but it will not "Wake" widget locked or show the message over the top of it when I go to unlock it. :/

To those on the new MIUI rom....

Do you also not have the option to wake with the trackball anymore?
Don't know why, but no its not in the new version. Same question was asked in their forums and still didn't get a real answer. I think they're going to put it back in eventually.
I bet if they put their source code out we would have trackball wake.

If they put out source their whole sms system would be forked across all roms in a matter of hours.
MIUI's toast notification of sms with reply is the only reason i really enjoy MIUI.

That's the wonder of open source though. If google didn't make Android open source we wouldn't have MIUI, therefore imo MIUI source should also be open source.

They're shopping MIUI to the big name phone manufactures, seems the most likely to buy it is Motorola, so it doesn't make much sense for them to out their source code.

I think the last few updates have been not steps, but leaps backwards. Each release has another new bug that just drives me up the wall, and its never fixed.
1. notification bar in lock screen constantly has date
2. carrier logo is permanently in notification bar when unlocked/no notifications
3. can't send sms to recipients with "-" in number/camera FC with flash

New feature in 4.0.4 - configure Power button to instantly lock or not

https://plus.google.com/110145431558529252718/posts/UAvWY5TXvqZ
This allows you to configure the power button to shut off the screen and not lock the device. Device autolocks after the lock timer setting. should help while driving. and win a few of the WP7 challenges
I think they messed up something because I'm using one of those apps to use a widget instead power button to lock device and after pressing that widget, lock screen shows again and after 5 seconds or something like that device really gets locked (although that new timeout is 0 seconds...)
Is it just me or could it be a bug?
Thanks in advance.
google changed the lock screen behaviour again.. so gotta wait for update to the app
I don't see that option...using the 4.0.4 ota, could it be different than the factory images?

Edit: Editing due to your edit
Its likely a lot of it is 4.0.4. I just am not convinced all of it is. CM does what we do; they pull directly from AOSP and then their repos. Anything not in their repos would be updated to 4.0.4, until they do it themselves.
Using GummyNex 9.5 (test build) and it's in there. VERY COOL!!!
You need the new build of 4.0.4 which was released yesterday (IMM76D). and yes it does not work for slide unlock - only for password/pattern.

Well, it turns out it is in there, I just had slide unlock enabled. Changed it to pattern and it magically appeared (as per madmak's post).
This perfects Android for me. I am actually the one who added this option to CM7.
when you set up the security lock you will see it in there
CM already had/has a similar feature, it's under security->lockscreen->delay_screen_lock

Of course, assuming you are on gingerbread and have a kernel that supports BLN.
app is BLN control
I am on ICS running the IML74K_Ics_Perfection II rom. I tried to install the Synergy kernel but ended up with a boot loop. Any ideas on how to remedy this issue or point me in the correct way.

Bud, you can't run gingerbread kernels on ICS. Which also means you can't have softkey notification on ICS. Flash aN ICS kernel and you'll be fixed.
From what I recall synergy is a gb kernel. U cannot use a gb kernel with an ics rom. Until source code is released, u have to pick. Either no ics, and bln control works, or use ics and forgo bln until source comes out
Thanks!
You can try an app called Noled, it doesnt use softkeys though. It uses the screen to light up icons.

I use BLN pro (ofcourse with a compatible kernel and a GB rom).
It's pretty neat and can be configured for your sofkeys to blink at a custom rate(I set mine at half a second off and on) so it looks like regular leds. Some iphone users think its pretty legit!
Only reason I have yet to switch to ICS is because of no BLN support, no OC and no DOCK audio

Double press power button to launch camera

Okay, call me crazy, but I am positive that that shortcut was not present before. I have the latest security patch, no root, no bootloader unlocked, no custom rom. I double pressed it and the camera launched. I don't know if it has to do with hiding the stock Sense Home screen via adb. I don't know what I did. I don't find a setting or anything in the entire system.

Yeah, I read it somewhere, it's one of the effects of disabling the HTC Lockscreen. Having the stock Android Lockscreen enables that double press shortcut.
I have a question too though, does the fingerprint scanner work on the Stock Android Lockscreen?

Double Tap To Sleep Only Works in Lockscreen For Me

I just got my brand new HTC 10 today. Double Tap to Wake works fine, but why does DT to Sleep ONLY work on the lockscreen and not from the Home screen?
Can someone help? I already did a Gravity Test/Calibration Check btw.

It would not work because probably the first tap would open the app from the shortcut on your home screen if you would have any. This is why this is not working on home screen or any other screen. Just in lock screen mode.

I have Pro Nova, but still couldn't get it to work. Well, I mean I did, but the problem is, while it's "working", all the security stuff on my phone gets disabled as a result. I DO NOT have this issue with LG, Samsung, and Sony phones, only HTC. This is unacceptable. HTC should know better.
Nova Launcher does it fine, however, when unlocking, if you use fingerprint security, it forces you to use the password. This is probably an Android security issue, and not an HTC issue, since it behaves this way on all devices. I'll let someone with more knowledge on the subject explain why it is so.

Yeah but on LG, Sony, and Samsung phones, their systems DO NOT force you to put the password/PIN in again. That's why I wish HTC would take note of what those 3 are doing and implement those processes on their own phones.

Hi jimm2,
I'm actually VERY familiar with that app and had been using it for years until recently. I also have family that still use it.
I DID actually try that one out too, and it DID work...........however, the sacrifice I have to make in order for it to work is that I can no longer have the security settings of my phone enabled.......it completely bypasses them. And I am not willing to give that up, so unfortunately I can't use it.
Thank you though anyway!
I have fingerprint security to unlock the HTC 10.
Now I cannot wake the phone with double tap to wake. Is this a bug or a security issue which is normal?
