Help Reverting to .97 - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Started with this thread, I would have posted there but I don't have the permission yet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1298990
when i run the hack I keep getting "failed" it will not erase cache saying
erasing 'cache' ... FAILED (command write failed (no such file or directory))
mage . . .
INFOzip header checking...
INFOzip info parsing...
FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)
any ideas on what is going wrong?? the phone is unlocked currently using the htcdev link
the ultimate goal is to unlock the bands to be able to use this phone on ATT.

To downgrade you gotta relock using the HTC tool, then and only then can you downgrade to s-off

can i relock using another method? (I am unable to find the hboot lock instructions)
EDIT: sorry I wrote before I tried. Used ACS and it worked

I don't know how it all works. Try googling how to relock using the HTCdev unlock tool.

Problem with s-off

Hello there. I have small problem with s-offing my desire z.... what i done is that i unlocked the phone with Htcdev and flasheod cwm... then i left the phone in Poland... when i got it back I flashed the custom rom... but then i realized i forgot to s off it.... i tried numerous tutorials i managed t change version number to allow downgrade but i always fail when it comes to flash the official rom PC10IMG.zip file.... is there any way i can get it to work? (btw i assume that i dont have to root the device once the custom rom is rooted already) I used this guide
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912
Code:
c:\vision>fastboot oem rebootRUU
...
OKAY [ 0.159s]
finished. total time: 0.160s
c:\vision>fastboot flash zip PC10IMG.zip
sending 'zip' (291447 KB)...
OKAY [ 49.308s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) zip info parsing...
FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)
finished. total time: 58.565s
c:\vision>
Thanks.
You do need to root it, and you will also have to relock your bootloader first as htcdev unlocked hboot is nearly worthless. Find nipqer's guide and you'll be good.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
I was actually followin nipqlers guide but the problem seemed to be the unlocked boot loader i must have had skiped it.... anyways i reclocked the boot loader and it seemed to work thanks

it ignores all the files excluding the highlighted Three (Boot.img,recovery.img and system.img).
it will not update your hboot,or radio.
but in your case i think
you are not bootloader unlocked or S-off.

The signature verify fail error is because you flash a rom of a different region so it has a different cid. To overcome this you will have to make a gold card. Then you won't get that error.

Also one of the main reasons is that you MUST be either bootloader unlocked or s-off.

but again have to change your phone to "USB Mass storage" while patching the image file in step 5.

Ok sorry, I'm gonna try to be more clear:
I patched the goldcard and repeated the process from top
still I got into the booting htc animation
which loops forever,
I wanted to go back to my back but I guess the goldcard won't let me do it since after backing up from clockwork recovery
the htc brillient loop comes back again instead of loading the cyanogen
can you help me?

[Q] Bricked phone while flashing

Hello,
While I was preparing my phone to flash cyanogenmod 10.1 to my desire HD i bricked it.
It is now in a bootloop while not being updated yet,
How it came to be:
I Unlocked the bootloader with the help of htcdev
After this I tried to root it which by me succeeded,
Then i tried to do a S-OFF but this failed, and then in my rush i flashed cyanogenmod.
Now I am trieing to revert back my changes to the stock RUU of HTC, but this also gives errors
When i try to reinstall my current version (3.13 with hboot 2.00.0029) it gives an error that the rom is not supported.
Then i try to install the previous version (3.12.405.1) and then it says that there is a newer version and then stops.
The CID of my phone is: HTC__E11
The current HBOOT is: 2.00.0029
Radio: 26.14.04.28_M
eMMC-boot
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
MICROP: 0438
The phone is unbranded and direct of HTC.
I hope you can help me with this issue.
Kind Regards and Thanks in Advance,
Jasper

I have just checked the following tutorial from your link
And when i wanted to flash the bootloader i get an error

INFOzip header checking...
INFOzip info parsing...
INFOchecking model ID...
INFOchecking custom ID...
INFOchecking main version...
FAILED (remote: 43 main version check fail)
Also when i try to clear the cache it will succeed.
But when i try to flash the rom.zip extracted from the official RUU with the previous version in RUU mode
Code:
./fastboot flash zip rom.zip
sending 'zip' (336097 KB)... OKAY
writing 'zip'... INFOadopting the signature contained in this image...

I'm a bit Rusty so here it goes. Do double check what I'm about to tell you.
Either:
You also need to flash the rom img after having a recovery installed - do you have one?
Or, relock the bootloader and use glevitans tool.
If those don't work, flash a ruu to start over.

This is what i actually want to do at the moment, but this is actually what is going wrong, but i do have access to fastboot and clockworkmod recovery.
But i will check the glevitans tool.

Coffee hasn't kicked in yet.
Try flashing a rom, the rom img using fastboot. If that doesnt work relock the bootloader, then try flashing the ruu.

Hi Teichopsia,
Problem is solved, thank for pointing me in the right direction
I fixed the problem by setting the version to 1.1.111.1 with misc_version
After this I flashed the original RUU and it is now working as a charm again.
Thanks again.
