Hi everybody.
I've ported MIUI ICS for our lovely device, Galaxy Tab.
It's Based on CM9(Thanks to humberos and others). Now it has many problems and I dont suggest it for daily usage.
Bugs:
All CM9 Bugs
Wi-Fi
SD mounts(I think It's a little buggy)
Others you'll be find.
Fixes:
SD Mounts(not fully OK, but better than default):
Code:
adb shell
su
mount -o bind /mnt/sdcard /mnt/emmc
cd /mnt/emmc/
mkdir external_sd
mount -o bind /mnt/sdcard/external_sd /mnt/emmc/external_sd
Themes:
Code:
adb shell
su
cd /data/system/
mkdir theme
Thanks:
HumberOS and TE4M for CM9
Miuiandroid for MIUI ICS
I will port 2.1.20 verry soon.
Download
tnx sina
your work is goooooooooooooooooooood
great Job Sina. I'll try it asap
also tricky method to enable sd mount! I really liked. worked on my CM9 base
thanks
Yaaaaaaj... fantastic, if cm9 will be done, I mean almost all feature done, and there will be MIUI 4 on it, on Tab... fantastic!!!
Thanks for your effort!
Great!!! Can I use this rom in a P1000L? can you explaine me the procedure, I have humberos rom 2.1, GB 2.3.3 2.6.35.13 humberos kernel.
Thank you
Incredible, MIUI based CM9
Fantastic work. Please continue bringing joy to our TAB
It can be installed on top of gingerbread 2.3.6 without problems?
regards
dear sina, I just tested your rom using overcome 4 kernel, and doing a full wipe. quiet smooth and promising. keep on good work
just have a question, I have to mount mnt sdcard as emmc sdcard(last line of your adb command) everytime i restart the tab. Is there anyway to do it automatically, for example putting that in a XML file or something?
I'm not so expert in these thing, any help would be appreciated...
thanks

Yes, but you should download and replace kernel with one for your device.
You can download it from here:

It's possible, by a bash script in init.d, but I've tried it with no result. I think my bash script had some problems that I wasn't able to fix them.
But It's still present in init.d folder, and I think more talented devs can easily fix it.
hey~
i flashed with P1000N-CM9-HumberOS-Kernel-20120128 But the system notice unknow baseband version
what's wrong
great Job Sina. I'll try it asap
Just installed!
Installed and flashed well on my TMobile GT-p1000. Everything is working well short of the obvious problems with card and Wifi!
Any idea when the WIFI will be working? seems like the only thing missing from making this a daily play toy!
Thanks for the hard work!
I guess that now that cm9 has become so stable it's only a matter of time before this gets updated with the new kernels and builds.

Hey guys, it looked like you guys didn't have a real up to date aosp/cyanogenmod rom, so i decided to take my build and port it over for you guys. This is built from the latest cyanogenmod sources and whatnot. everything should work as fine as any other aosp rom. I Don't have a GSM hero, so you guys gotta tell me how this goes, and what needs fixing.
Thanks Cyanogen for the source to work off of, and experience for showing me how easy it is to port roms to other phones
Standard Order to flash this rom is first the Full Rom, then The Google bits. You only need to wipe if you are coming from a non cyanogenmod rom
HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS? | kanged from cyanogen's guidelines for bugreporting, lol
- Was it a hard reboot? Get me the file "/proc/last_kmsg". adb pull /proc/last_kmsg
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output. Pastebin links preferred
- Please use the the bugreporter whenever possible!
well, here you guys go

Will be interesting to see how it differs from VanillaEclair and aHero.

Is the rom directly ported from a non gsm hero, because is so wouldnt flashing this rom onto our GSM heros brick or cause problems with our hero? Any feedback from some1 who has flashed, or dev will be great

no it wouldn't. flashing a cdma hero radio (most of the time) would, but flashing a rom would never ever brick your phone.
And really, why would someone ever release anything with the possibility of bricking your phone, eh?

you even know how to flash a update.zip?
CDMA
So if we could flash CDMA roms then why dont we grab the 2.1 roms off the cdma thread that are generally a step ahead in development than the roms we GSM owners have, unless they didnt work on our phones :S?

I made the adjustments necessary to get it to run on a gsm hero, such as i changed the kernel... but i don't think i edited the base when packing the boot.img, if that matters. I edited the build.prop to point to wcdma, i editeed the sensors libs... though i think i need to port akmd from your guy's hero rom, and i edited the keylayouts to suit hero gsm
Well, I'm at the blue nexus load screen, still going

logcat shows
Cannot open firmware file </system/etc/wifi/Fw1251r1c.bin>: No such file or directory.
I'll try grabbing it from another ROM.
@Darch,
I can post a full logcat somewhere if you need, from first boot until now (still going)
UPDATE statement.
As original author for this thread, videos and first demos, I'm not currently working on the Gingerbread port these days (heavily busy working on Voodoo sound improvements).
It doesn't mean I lost interest in it, only that I miss time at the moment.
CyanogenMod team work on a serious port of Gingerbread for Galaxy S, witch won't be just a technical demo like the original spirit of this one.
Of course, such goal requires a lot of work, dedication, and also some calm.
There is a lot of natural interest about Gingerbread on Galaxy S, and it's perfectly understandable too.
Giving an ETA until the porting work is done or some major advance is made would be dishonest.
It means that not asking for ETA will be appreciated. However, you're welcome discussing other aspects.
If you want more technical insights and a few updates by most actives developers for this port, i would recommend to follow:

[list needs to be completed, thanks for input]
Thank you!

Galaxy S with Nexus S kernel - Booting Nexus S Android Gingerbread
Videos are here:
http://www.youtube.com/supercurioxda
Early demo Releases - V6
Requirements
You must be root on your phone
Your /data must be converted in Ext4 by Voodoo lagfix or another Ext4 lagfix.
Verizon Fascinates are not yet supported - Epic4G will require a lot more development.
You must have proceed to complete backups before
Some busybox installation is also useful for tar.
Another Important note
Be sure you have access to the download mode using the 3 buttons combination.
If you don't, it will be extremely difficult (even if in theory not impossible) to to flash another kernel back.
Steps:
1/ Download this system dump on your sdcard:
system dump archive
2/ Run these commands
Code:
adb shell
su
cd /data
mkdir gingerbread
cd gingerbread
busybox tar zxvf /sdcard/system-dump-as-root.tar.gz
busybox cp -a /efs efs
sync
reboot download
3/ unzip the attached nsonsgs.tar.zip to nsonsgs.tar
4/ flash the kernel with Odin or Heimdall - no pit - no re-partition
Watch Gingerbread boot on your phone !
How do I get back?
Everything is still in place on your phone - no harm done.
All you need to do is to flash your preferred custom (that support Ext4 obviously) Kernel back on your phone
What's about this port:
- It uses the Nexus S kernel compiled from sources
- It runs the exact /system image release, we dumped on IRC from an actual Nexus S device.
Am i French ?
Now you don't have any doubt anymore
Which filesystem ?
This early preview runs on Ext4. no RFS at all, the kernel don't support RFS.
Does everything work ?
Nope, but there are progresses.
Don't work: GPS / Voice / camera
Work: everything else: like sound, GL acceleration etc
Will it work ?
I think most of it will work after countless hours spent on it.
Is it flashable with Odin ?
Won't be so easy, but it's one of the goals
Do you work alone ?
Credits go the IRC channel #NSdev on freenode, and now a team formed regrouping most Captivate/Vibrant/Fascinate/I9000 developers and CyanogenMod team, with Kernel and ROM developers and also newcomers.
When will this/that work ?
The only honest answer is: there is no answer.
Please don't ask for ETA, don't pressure developers, they need peace of mind
Is this Open Source ?
Everything is fully published under an open source license

- Easy root. You only need to install Superuser app from Market.
Downloads :
Kernel you can flash with Odin / heimdall / kernel flashing apps
ClockWorkMod unsigned update.zip
V5
- Wifi semi-working (tend to crash the phone on Wifi sleep timeout)
- Calls working but no DATA for me (coolya had data, which means: erratic) - voice not tested.
- kind of laggy, but there is a lot of headroom.
- GPS working only by Wifi/Triangulation networking - No satellites.
Fantastic job by coolya who did most of the advancement, for Wifi, baseband and also OneDRAM partitions configuration. Really really awesome work.
We were so lucky the snow forced him to stay at home instead of going to work
This time you can really start to play with the phone, install apps, surf on the Internet all this with Gingerbread! kind of cool
V4
Buttons fixed thanks to the contributions of xcaliburhands, pawitp, fenfir
No need to create some directories manually anymore.
Kernel available as ClockWorkMod recovery update.zip - be sure you have access to 3 buttons !
V3
SDcard now works
- As internal storage
- As USB storage
V2
improved pre-init script and mounts:
no more insufficient space
improved dual-boot solution
faster boot
faster disk I/O
V1
initial
Edit: we started working now as a team, joining XDA forces with CyanogenMod.
Gingerbread CM is AOSP, which means the port will be the real Google experience, using clean source modified just as we need to.
Holy moly..... I can't wait! Thanks Curio (and any other devs)!
I wonder how fast this ROM will be! 2.2.1 is smooth as butter as it is!
That was quick! I saw the title before saw who posted I thought it was just going to to someone asking for eta's... Nice work!
LOL are u serious? Doc was trying to run it the other day but couldn get pass the boot screen haha
Let's wait patiently for the port, and let the dev do his work.

i have fixed the video bug. it will be uploaded soon
I am currently running CM 7.2 RC1 by WillingMagic, and noticed that Willing said on Twitter that support for the 551 is being dropped since he doesn't have this phone anymore. So, I decided to look for other roms. And ran into... THIS! a stable Cyanogenmod rom, what a surprise. The question, therefore would be, as I'm currently running WillingMagic's Cyano port, do I have to wipe data whenever I flash this one? I ask this because I've read that when flashing from one build of cyanogen to another there's no need to wipe data. But since these are different ports... There's no harm in asking!
Thanks in advance.
Thanks will try it asap.....

Ajay, thanks a lot.
Cool, now I gotta dig out my 5510 and check this out.
EDIT: Wow, the nightly version is definitely very zippy. Never would have though the I5510 could be this quick.
EDIT#2: It's good that you leave overclocking to the users. I tried setting 806MHz but it froze when I locked and then tried to unlock it.
The function automatic brightness doesn't work... but it is a very good Rom.
BTW: Now released CM10 for Galaxy Mini ,can you port it?

ajay jb.zip as double named files such that on extracting they displace each other due to similar name it is due to addition of file in zip after compilation as for now cm7 is the most stable version
Cm10 zip
Good job! great rom.
If you want to extract cm10 you have to use linux, because for windows folder ''a'' and folder ''A'' is the same name.
bye
CM 10 ??

Thank you for this. From the quick testing I did the D-Pad and buttons work fine but the D-Pad has incorrect directions like it's been rotated anti clockwise up is right, left is up, down is left, right is down. Although you probably know that already directions for installing are slightly incorrect. There is no CWM with this boot.img its CyanogenRecovery so we can't mount /system to wipe it, but it still seems to install and boot fine. System is erased with Fastboot in a previous step anyway
Camera is upside down, but again obvious one you probably know about Well done to everyone involved in getting this device on the cutting edge! Performance is really really good, its like lollipop was made for this
What about Phone, Wifi, BT, Camera, Sound, GPS, Auto-Rotate when slider is out, prox. Sensor, light sensor - is all that working? What yes what not?

need to flash stock MT25i (Neo L) ftf
Installation guide?
I need to flash the same boot.img of KitKat and mt25.ftf or something new?
You not said nothing about how to install this special ROM 5.0.2
Please put an installation guide in the post
Thanks and great work
OK guys, i'm leaving. CM12, CM11 and all Android 4.x stuff is simply crap. Functions are missing, the UI is nochy. Overall not feeling good. And probably nobody will ever release a superb CM1x ROM. So i'm back at Ginger Bread - the original. Bye.

all I can say is.. I have a 32gb memory card.. a Ext4 4 gb Partition.. and when I installed the ROM .. it showed me everything as One large 1gb Partition.. not 1gb.. something 900mb ..
So make a partition and then Install the ROm !! it should work like it did work for me.. I Wiped everything from ADB .. and Installed from the Recovery by Cyanogen only.

but yeah.. we need newer ROMS as well and I was loving everybit of Lollipop .. but once the Bugs are done.. i will be back on that..

I had compiled cm12, but i don't have time right now to reformat my 32gb card to make 2nd partition.
Btw, in what format is that 2nd partition? Ext2 or ext4?
As i see from source code, system is 900MB, so i guess data partition is on 2nd partition on sdcard?
Just asking, so to flash cm12 i need:
Flash any .62+ firmware (to unlock custom partitioning)
Flash kernel from zip
Erase system and userdata from fastboot
Flash rom from recovery
?
Ps: as for cm7, i can't help much, because i don't have harddisk space in virtualbox (cm12 source took all avaiable space)
If you can compile cm7 kernel, try with values from my thread (the 220/700 ones)
I can recalculate values again if you need more space. As i recall, official cm7 for zeus is around 130 MB and gaaps is around 7MB, so maybe 149.5/770 partitions size is ok?

Hi that's nice that you compiled again.. cuz Mike might have made some changes and some bugs might be done with..
yes system was 900mb+ etc.. and I had a 4gb partition on my card for Link2SD .. its Ext4 !! as far as i remember.
Step 1...i flashed the .79 FTF for Xperia Play..
Step 2...then i Wiped System and userdata by fastboot as listen in Mikes CM11 OP !
Step 3...Then i flashed Kernel.. (or you can switch these steps 2 or 3)
Step 4... Install ROM by Using Cyanogen Recovery. i can we need to go to Install Update.zip option ..
Edit : i think 210/700mb is more than enough.. values are already calculated by you so thanks for that.. its always nice to have some space in system else it keeps showing (System Low on Memory Error)
i can compile as well. but im confused.. i have already the cm12 source downloaded and compiled.. will the cm7 take the same space on top of that.. or how will i differentiate the folder for both.
is their a step by step guide i can follow.. and at which step do i need to change the Kernel Values ! and where.. i have no clue of that ! can you rite a quick step guide for me.. lead me into the right direction and i can ask you my doubts along the way.

To be honest, i don't know. My guess is that you need to delete cm12 source, then from ~android/system folder do the repo init for cm7
There is a guide for building CM here but use
Code:
repo init -u https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b gingerbread
instead of ics
Editing partition should be easy, as you only need to edit file semc_zeus_defconfig (it should be in ~android/system/kernel/arch/arm/configs/ folder or just search where is that file when you download source)
Then build as a guide say.
I am not 100% sure about building CM from source, so i'm only guessing, maybe someone else with better knowledge about compiling could say
As for CM12, i'll compile it again in few days, and hopefully i'll have time to test it for weekend

yes cm7.3 .. DEv of cm7.2 ended a long time back.. then the FXP team compiled cm gingerbread again late in 2013 December I think .. and started calling it cm7.3 . kinda like the EOL version.. its amazing .. only change I want is a 210/700mb Kernel.. that would make it even more useful
IDK about the Touchpads though.
you should look here at my post in this thread !!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57610312&postcount=3038
Does the second partition have to be 4GB in order to install CM12 or what size?
P.S. Tested Dead Space on CM7.3, Touchpads not working. I have found Doom Kernel + ICS, without heavy apps, to deliver the best overall performance for the Xplay. Overclocking to 1.8GHz makes even Reicast playable.
