time and date reset ! - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi ,
When I remove battery from the phone ,
Time and date resets so I have to set it again !
I also checked the automatic in time and date setting but nothing happened .
is it because of my backup battery ? or it's related to the firmware and stuff ?
I use Arc S LT18i with stock ROM and Kernel ...

I believe its like this on all android phones. If i remove battery quickly and put it back time is normal but if I leave it for a bit time is reset.

seriously ?!
this is ridiculous !
a 20 bucks-ish phone can hold battery when battery is removed !

I haven't had this issue since my Nokia 3210. Certainly my Arc doesn't suffer from it.

Battery Status doesnt scal cpu anymore

Hi @ all
I put an new WM6 Rom on my XDA Orbit(P3300). Everything is working fine with this ROM. I installed the extended Battery Status and also this worked fine with CPU scaling etc.
Since my phone crashed and I had to restart it, Batter Status doesn't scale CPU anymore. 5-6 time I uninstalled and installed it again, even the "normal" Battery Status I installed didn'T help. I tried everything I know to do.
Can someone tell me what I can do besides hardreset?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Greetz Benne
I think i have the soluce
If the ROM you have install have the "light Battery status", when you re install the extended version View attachment BatteryStatusExt.1.04.CAB the system ask you if you want to keep the "parameters": you must clic NO and after you soft reset and go to options of BS and valid the "scale".
I do that on my P3300 and it's good .
Good luck
PS: I hope you understand me, but I'm french.
Hi.
Thanks, but I didn't use the "old" preferences even not if I reinstalled the Extended version again.
I think I have to hardreset the Orbit
It would be the "fastest" way to get rid of this little bug.
Thanks anyway.

[Q] Need Help with this weird One X Issue

Hi all, And my apologies if i am posting in the wrong section.
i've been searching for the solution for my problem, and so far i cudnt find one.
My HTC works fine, no screen flickering nothing at all.
what my unique problem is that, as my htc reaches to 80% charge, it starts acting like its in a red area zone. it crashes. I switch it one, and as it loads back to lock screen, it crashes again, and again and damn again , untill i put it on charge.
Initially i thought its a software bug so
i rooted my cell, installed custom rom ARHD 6.0, (didnt touch my kernal)
i was happy with the custom rom, battery got better, device became more smooth. but as it reached to 80%, bang. crashed, and crashed after every restart.
i installed LeeDroid rom and confronted the same problem again.
My uncle bought this from UK and i live in Pakistan, so replacement is out of the equation. I am not sure what should i do, even if i give this for repair, what should i ask for that? battery?
i made a video of this, please help me out.

guys, anyone?
If the phone did it out of the box running stock s/w and no other apps it's h/w. Since you're rooted and have played with multiple ROMs it's hard to tell. If I were you I'd go back to the stock ROM, not load any apps, and see if the phone still has the problem. If it doesn't it's something s/w related that you've done to the phone.

I assume there is no official HTC service center available there (as there is non in Iran) in that case I suggest you do this two things before testing local unauthorized repair centers.
1- Flash the latest franco kernel (I suggest franco cause I've tested it myself, you can also use any other kernel)
2- let the battery charge up to 100% and then go to CWM recovery and wipe battery stat

i was facing this problem when i was on stock. My phone had Vodaphone UK RUU.
i contacted htc, got the following reply
With reference to your query, please kindly update your phone to the latest software version since we have released a recent update which optimizes system performance as well as battery performance.
Meanwhile, you can also follow below steps to set your phone under safe mode for monitoring:
First verify that Fast Boot is not enabled, Settings > Power > Make sure Fast Boot is not selected. To enable safe mode:
1. With the device turned off.
2. Press the power button.
3. Once the device turns press and holds the volume down, once you see the splash screen.
4. Press and hold thevolume down button (DO NOT RELEASE THE VOLUME DOWN).
You will know it has worked because the device will give a brief vibrate or 3 quick vibes. Once it loads you will see on the “Safe Mode” on the bottom left of the screen. This disables all 3rd party apps and drivers from launching. Use the phone normally for 24-48 hours like this. Do not use 3rd party apps or install from the market or the test will be inconclusive.
If the issue will not occur under safe mode, please uninstall the 3rd applications.
Should the problem still persist when your phone is under safe mode, please kindly back up your personal user data and follow below steps to set your phone back to factory default settings:
Settings> Storage> Factory Data Reset".
but this happened on Safe mode too, so i decided to go and get replace by the market guy, but he ..... nvm
After that i switched roms and faced the same issue

You find it in
Home> HTC One X> One X Android development
btw is this possible that my stats are incorrect, reason for asking is that. it shut downs like its out of power. and it takes ages to charge up completely even if its on 86%. I install franco, and now its on charging, it will take almost 2 hours plus to get charge completely.
I will post update after wiping battery state

[Q] [Please Help] Weird battery issues - Xperia Arc

Hello everyone,
I've decided to get help trying to fix my Xperia Arc which has weird battery issues.
I tried so many things trying to fix it that I don't now what to try/where to look for an answer. So, I decided to ask you guys for help.
The problem started this summer, I updated my phone with the official ICS update, and after that, battery life went from average to awful.
I have, at the moment, a battery consumption of around 20% per hour, and it doesn't change whether I'm using the phone or not.
I have tried the following things :
- New battery : same problem
- New kernel rom => Tried different kernels (arcknight/stock ...) and different custom roms => same problem
- Re-locking the bootloader and flashing stock 2.3 => same issue
- Installed software to check what was using the battery : nothing stood out.
So now I don't know what to do, I'm at loss. When I was running custom roms I always remembered to delete the battery stats once the battery was full, didnt help.
Also, I thing the problem is the battery sensor ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Vincent.

Looks like you've already tried what would have been suggested.

ICS requires you to restart your phone after every time you charge it. Bug in the firmware.
If still dropping too fast - Then it has to be some of your settings, that you use, either a sync or GPS or something.
have you wipe battery stat in cwm?

1.
Revert to stock. Relock your bootloader. Repair phone with pc companion.
2.
Check your battery. Take it out and study it. Is it deformed, swollen or anything?
3. (OPTIONAL)
Clean battery pins on phone and battery with aftershave
4.
Get a new battery
Cheers guys for the answers. I tried everything you guys recommended and yup same problem
I'm sending it in for repairs and hopefully they'll fix it.

You can use the app with root permission
"Battery calibration "
The app can reset your battery information.

Or maybe you should get a new battery if it is the original which came with the phone.
Edit: I oversaw you changed already the battery, sorry.

mm-qcamera-daemon drains battery

mm-qcamera-daemon process consumes a lot of battery after the latest update (PD1730F_EX_A_1.10.2). Even though, not using any camera app!
Tried to follow -
Factory reset
Hard reset
Rebooted in safe mode - observed the same
None of the reset worked & mm-qcamera-daemon drains battery even if safe mode, which means the reason is not any third part apps. It drains battery even in idle time!
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Subrata
Same issue with my vivo v9 after last update..
I feel this happens when i install app like livu and similar.
Hard reset through recovery but no results.
Solution found.. ( in my case )
Go to... Settings/smart motion/
Switch off " smart low vol" and/or all features if not required.
Try it and thanks me later

Nice to know that. By the way, that's disabled.
But will verify once more.
Appreciate to share the info.
Tried several ways without any luck.
Downgraded the version and now things are fine.
update on 1.10.7
