hey guys, i have a SGS II T989 and have HSPA+ but using it with a different carrier ( Claro Peru ) ... we have 4G speeds here but i can only see 3G even tough the speed test shows 4G.. I know T-mo rom limits to show 4G icon only if you are on its network..
is there a way to unblock that? or show 4G icon even if you are on a different HSPA + network ?

Its awesome. Way better than stock. Juggernaut is by far the best rom for our phone. Comes with the bullet kernel.

The top four are from my house at various server distances. I know I am lucky with the wifi because I only pay for around 15. I never have had los and only saw it on my wife's stock epic touch once. I bought my phone off of ebay and I'm on the eg30 modem. I am afraid to switch with it working so great.

During peak hours I got this, much better than the stock Ek02 which was 0.01mbps down and 0.13mbps up... I don't know what Sprint is doing but my speeds are much better for the past 2 days
By the way I am on EL26 ROM Modem and Kernel. if that matters.
3g - 1189d 709u 138p
4g - 3772d 592u 139p
wifi - 11597d 4092u 30p
idk if thats good or bad at 1AM but it keeps me happy =)
I'm 40min north of L.A.... it's a pretty dense area... but I am only seeing 3g. Under mobile networks I have it set as 3g/lte but it never switches to 4g.
If its the Sprint version, there is no LTE anywhere. Some people see it sometimes, but only cause they're testing the towers.
If you're on Verizon, look at a coverage map or call them up to ask if they have it.

Galaxy Nexus AOKP m5 Franco kernel m3
I'm looking for a toggle widget for GSM/WCDMA switching to turn off 4G but still retain lower speed data, I don't want to fully disable data. It's a bit of a pain going 3 pages deep into settings in order to turn it to straight GSM. Does anyone know of a decent app or widget to do this with? I've searched and found nothing. I found a thread that said CM9 had a toggle with this, I don't recall seeing it last time I was running CM9 though. Running TDJ's Darkside Evolution/Venom03 currently.

Yeah I wanted to stick with Darkside Evolution because of wifi-calling being needed out at the Mom's ranch in the middle of nowhere at the coast in florida, otherwise I'd use CM9.

The pxt message comes through 3G that's why both your wifi and 3g are on at the same time.

3g is always running in the background when wifi is on but it will only notify you that its being used when you need that particular service. From what I understand voice calls are also placed through the 3g service but defaults to 2g when there strength of your 3g is not good enough.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

^ That's my understanding if it as well.
Not all carriers will make the phone show data activity indicator when receiving mms, but I think it's very common.

My Evo 4G LTE has an option under mobile data to set it to CDMA or CDMA/LTE. My girlfriend has a GS3 an doesn't get 4G in places where I do. I didn't see where to cycle between CDMA only and CDMA/LTE on her GS3. May be an obvious answer, but we just got together so I haven't played with her phone much and didn't see where to make this change. Thanks for any help!
