Hey guys. I got a SGH-T989 a few weeks ago and since I have flashed CyanogenMod 7 and made it look like Ice Cream Sandwich. I love my new phone and it is a major improvement from the my touch 3g slide. I just posted to say hi and introduce myself.

Thanks guys. I've been on xda for awhile now but just looking and rarely posting in this forum. When I had a slide a posted all the time in their development forum and help some people with an ice cream sandwich rom (icy espresso) but now that my phone is completely set up and stavle., I figured I would become a regular. Thanks for being so welcoming!

Our cm is only partially complete and totally abandoned. What you deer is what you get. I personally didn't find it good enough for a daily driver but some people do.

It's cool bro, but I actually use my phone to make calls.
I ran the skyrocket version of cm7 for about a month, and its VERY buggy. Ours is definitely smoother.

I suggest you try AOKP from the general forum. It's like cm9, but better with more customizations and sleeker looking.
However, I would wait till next release to flash it, it's still in alpha stage and some things don't work at the moment.
Also, you should follow instructions to the dot when going from GB to a CM/AOKP ROM - it's easy to brick your phone if you don't know what you're doing. I recommend watching qbking's videos, he does a good job of explaining the process.
Sent from my Galaxy S II, AOKP style.
There is a working cm7 on the rootzwiki forums. Just Google for the forums and you can get there. It hasn't been updated since mid January though but does work pretty well.

Guys I found this on one of the Cyanogenmod member's GitHub. He is adding lot of comments to his GithHub about Samsung Skyrocket. Check the link below, if anyone could make more sense of this then please explain. ( It looks like Alpha cm9 but I could be wrong )
1. https://github.com/darchstar
2. https://github.com/darchstar/cm_devi...sung_skyrocket
Is this compileable?

Lol, no, the T989 is my primary phone, but I still have my HTC G2 as well, and that has "unofficial" CM9 running on it. Would be great to have it on this phone, as it's really difficult switching back to such a small screen when I want to enjoy some MIUI, AOKP, CM9, AOSP ICS, etc...
But I still love that little phone with a physical keyboard, dammit
EDIT: Just thought about calling the G2 little. I remember when I thought it was the perfect phone size. Now, I can't imagine ever going back to that size screen for primary every day use, lol!

Testing the battery life on cm9 rc2 to see if it is any better if not will be back to cm7.2. and NO I don't want to turn this into a battery issue mine is a case of my mileage varies from everyone else.
TPR 2.2.1, because Kennyglass123 is the Android version of Jim Jones and I drank every drop of the Kool-Aid....
Oh, and the battery life and performance are awesome too.

Honestly I'm not sure.....between tpr and mortify......only thing is that if I wanted ics look I would just go with aokp or cm9 (obviously mortify is a better performer) no offense darky...so tpr here I come

We do appreciate the hard work developers contribute to our Hercules community. Other users preference is not a weakness.
I'm up for it. This seems to be the one rom that my phone works the best with and battery life is fantastic. I've tried several ICS roms and while I really like certain things about them, for whatever reason, they don't always play nice on my phone.
