Does anyone know how long the nexus can last when used solely for music? My old iPhone was able to achieve close to 40 hours and battery use was negligible, my nexus one was maybe 10-15 hours at most. Anyone have any experience?
i'm curious about the audio playback battery time as well...
Depends if your underclockeD while playing?
Just my spare change.
I have the GSM Galaxy Nexus and I listen to podcasts and pandora while at work, almost continuously, with some occasional interruptions (meetings, bathroom breaks, etc.) throughout the day. Some minor web browsing during my lunch break, and I usually have somewhere between 50-60% power left when I get home.
i have a suspicion that this phone gets very good audio play time because from listening to music for hours the battery barely drops compared to my previous android phones. i bet they did some hardware playback optimizations which increases power efficiency.
Much the same here, streaming radio obviously eats faster.
I lose about 2-4% an hour playing music. I would guess up to 50 hours in optimal conditions.
Sent from my Nexus in Texas.
I usually drain 4-5% per hour if I'm using Pandora over WiFi. I rarely load music onto my phone as I use an MP3 player because I'd rather not have the extra battery drain.

Hi,
I have one basic question for current users - How long GALAXY NEXUS I9250 will work on battery?
Can you compare it subjectively with your previous phone?
Thanks!
I am a relatively minor user. I receive about 10 emails a day, about 20 texts, and various minor web browsing.
On my HTC Desire, after being unplugged at 7:30 am and being at work all day, by the time I would go to bed at about midnight, it would be down to 60% approximately.
So far on my Galaxy Nexus the battery has been about the same, but I don't think I've fully gotten the battery "worn in" yet. So far, with minor use, I can be sitting at about 70% at bed time, but if I play games or something, it goes down further.
I charge my battery every night, since I use my phone as a bedside clock (Kaloer Clock app) and if I don't have it plugged in, it dies overnight.
Compared to my Samsung Galaxy S II, which could hold battery life easily up to 2 days, the Galaxy Nexus is horrible at the same thing. Already within 30 minutes of unplugging the device it will go from 100% to 93%. - And that's with no use at all, with the phone in standby.
today was my first work day using the GN as i used to use my Desire (running oxygen), not messing about with it new gadget style.
battery life is very similar with my normal usage, about 3.5 hours of music, some games, watched about 40 minutes of video, tapatalk, 3g on all day, some good, some bad signal area's, using the underground no signal etc..
my screen was on circa 2 hours, i got home and the battery level is around what it normally was on the desire.
The battery may improve or may not, this is day 4 with the phone.
I was getting horrible battery performance up until now, but it seems i got it fixed:
I installed setCPU and create a profile for screen off: governor conservative, frequency:350 Mhz
Also, i flashed the very first stock kernel that Paul @Modaco released with the volume bug fix. For whatever reason, it works better than the official ITL41F kernel. it also doesn't hang when the phone is off and you plugged it in the charger.
With those two, i am now down to 88% battery (from 100%) in 10 hours!! It is excellent compared to my previous results when the battery would be less than 30% by now!
I have a Verizon GNex with the extended battery and recently my battery life has been horrible. Today, I have had the phone off the charger for 3hr20m and I am at 13%. I thought the battery life was great when I first got the ext battery last year, but it seems to be getting worse. I am currently on JB 4.2.2 MMuzzyROM for Toro.
Stats:
Screen: 1hr58min @ ~20% Brightness(I am at work, I have been using my phone but don't think it was for 2hrs)
AnDoom: 15m31s Downloaded and played Doom for a short time
Mediaserver 5m6s Keep awake 43m Listened to Slacker and watched a few YouTube vids
Android OS/System 5m each
Cell standby Time without signal 1%
Browser: CPU 3m24s, CPU foreground 36s, Keep Awake 0s
Phone Idle 1hr22m
Is my battery drain normal for the above usage?
Are you streaming music thru Google?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus 4GLTE (so fast it makes the zooom noise.. Hand me a beer
i stream all my music
brightness at like 50 %
wifi and gps on and i have the stock 1850 battery and this is what i get running cm10.1 and ak kernel no over or underclock
and no real changes and that was with a bright wallpaper with alot of whites in it to and constant texting
Just wondering, my tablet doesn't seem to have good battery when on screen time with power saving on.
It's like 10% per 30 minute drain when browsing or playing gta san andreas.
And 10% per 25 mins while sketching.
All of these with the least brightness possible.
Whilst I just performed a battery antutu tester and the result was like 20% per hour max brightness and wifi.
I aslo have battery doctor.optimizer installed.
It was like it from the start. But I didn't noticed it much.
P600 4.4 xxund2.
I get the worst battery life when playing games, likely similar to your findings. And the corner where the S-Pen is, gets very hot when playing games. If it was just playing games I am getting about 3-4 hours of on screen time.
However when I am watching online video or browsing the web, battery life is much better.

It is okay now ( I suppose) after a full charge cycle, 100-0 and 0-100
The gaming usage today was like 3 and half hours with 12% screen brightness and it lasted like from 100 to 51%. And the usage was continuous. (But with power saving on).
Playing Candy Crush for 22 hours straight can take its toll on your battery (and your marriage). Rate this thread to express how the ZTE Axon 7's battery performs under heavy use. A higher rating indicates that it lasts a long time even when playing games, streaming video and audio, and doing other CPU-intensive activities.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I'm quite the heavy user, but even so, since a while, I have to charge 2-3 times a day and sometimes, my battery level just remains stagnant for whatever reason
If I watch streams(twitch) the battery lasts roughly 4.5 hours. If I play games like FGO or anything like that, battery lasts only 2.5 hours.
The phone lasts the longest if I only chat/browse the web, which is more than 6 hours.
I am using stock so that might be why. I have a lot of different apps that requires the phone to be not rooted or running Android N. A good feature ZTE should add with their new upcoming stuff would be EAS and more low-power profiles. Because reading stuff, watching videos or playing lite 2D/3D games do not require the big cores to run between 80-100% all the time. I have noticed this happens all the time.
It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Honor 8 before depleting the battery.

I can get over 4h SOT. Nice!
I have been averaging 6 hour OT. Let keep in mind I do not have any social media apps on my phone Had all google services running such as google now, and had my location on battery saving mode. I usually run map for about 15-20 minutes on average.
Really impressed.
WiFi and LTE all the time on, WhatsApp and Skype protected, web surfing and other normal uses. Better than my old Honor7.
Of course never charged.
Edit: it took me over 7 hours before I had to put it to charge.
During my first charge cycle after I started using H8, I got 4 hrs of SOT with 50 hrs of standby time. I put it to charge with 21% battery remaining so it should have given in another hour I think. I am a light user.
Will update once I have tested it through more scenarios and heavy usage.
I let PC Mark Work 2.0 run overnight with the screen at ~25% brightness in Performance Mode. It was in Airplane mode because the benchmark says notifications can interrupt it and this was the first time since getting the phone I've had enough time to run it.
I put it on the charger a few minutes before I remembered to take the screenshot. It was at 18% when I looked at it.
I can use the phone for 2 days, which is definitely amazing. With that in mind, I usually get about 5-6 hours SOT. Brightness set to 30 percent, Many apps (incl Snapchat, Instagram and WhatsApp) are protected. I'm a student so I turn the Internet off for about 6 hrs per day because the Internet connection in the school is just to bad.
Connected to WiFi as often as possible.
Not many games (nearly never in fact) but heavy Whatsapp, Instagram and Snapchat use.
it seems that the phone can average 4hrs SOT for moderate to heavy usage which is very good
During about 2 days of usage I have 4-5h SOT so I could say that combined 18-19 standby and the SOT is what I have which is really nice after my BB Z10. Mostly FB, Messenger, BBM, Chrome, Youtube and photography.
Hello, I just gotta say the battery works really good with this phone. I'm really happy I picked the honor 8

I've seen it on the Screenshots above and I see it on my Honor 8 as well.. Why is does the software need much more battery than the hardware? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Here it's 6-9 hours of screen on, average a little over 7. Maybe I keep the brightness a little low, people tend to say that it's dark but it's comfy enough for me. I mostly use WiFi and the same apps that used to drain my Galaxy S4 before it was evening. Now I can go to bed with 50% to spare.
Around 4-5 depending on how many games I play . I use it quite heavily as a phone too (I know, shock) so I'm more than content.
Standby time was close to two days
Played games etc. Took it from loading at 6.10 am ended at 22:00 with 4℅. Love the battery <3
Here the screens:
It depends on the network usage !
If you use cell data you're ready for 3-4 hours SOT
If you use Wi-Fi you can hope for around 7 hours
Yes.
