OK I've searched and searched for this answer and have come close but not what I'm looking for. I want to use a shutdown animation on my desire. Everywhere I looked posts' say its in system/media/video,or shutdown but no such folder exsists I have an HTS DESIRE CDMA/Rooted/CM recovery/ Running CM7 ROM. Ive posted over at CM forum also but have not gotten an answer. Since I'm not finding the folder on my own and have not recieved an answer on the other forum I'm hoping to get a little help here. I'm leaning towards the fact that its not built into the ROM but as I have come to know with a lot of things nothing is impossible as long as you are willing to keep trying. So ultimatley I'm hoping someone can at the least point me in a better direction since I've come to dead end after dead end. I give many thanks to all/any that can help me thanks!
/data/local/htc_downanimation.zip
Edit: Sorry, kotag82 is right, I didn't read carefully enough, on CM7 it's /system/media!

in cm7 is /system/media
if you will find your bootanimation.zip there... copy that and rename it to downanimation.zip... hope it is working as it was working for me in sense case... change permisions to execute in es explorer
Tried this Kotage82 is not working maybe I'm not understanding the permissions do you mean owner is execute or all permissions execute? I'm still getting the phone is shutting down image with spinning ring?
I;m thinking I need to add some script maybe??? I dont think CM7 supports downanimations
Even I am searching for the solution to the shudownanimation for CM based ROMs.

Hey guys,
I've been trolling the forums for some time now, and I have yet to find the answer that I am looking for in regards to cooking my own ROMs - specifically for the HTC Vogue (Bell). I have looked through all sorts of stickies/readmes, but I still cannot figure out how to put it all together...
I've got a stock ROM from Bell, it has been extracted (so I have the bootloader, .nbh file and so on)...
Now HOW do I extract the .nbf, or even edit it for that matter? The only solution that I have found is the UNIX-based one, but I'll be honest, PERL and I dont get along well...is there a GUI or commandline based solution for WIN32?
I feel dumb for asking, but if someone could help me figure out the editing/compiling/flashing aspect, I'd be forever grateful
Thanks.
Most of the kitchens will take that nbh and parse it out in to the OEM and SYS folders you need.
I would suggest you search for DogGuy's command-line kitchen, and use that as a learning tool as he has batch files that automate most everything, and yet you can go through them to better understand what is happening.
Good luck!
Also some recent threads at ppcgeeks on this topic with useful info.

Yeah, I did check that post, however, it seemed that they were a step ahead of me...the tools that were provided did not (both gave application errors on launch...?).
Thanks for the replies, any one else have other tips, pointers, etc?
PPCGeeks.com is the answer...I still haven't found it yet...there's too much info on that site. Have you seen this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=18745
By following that method its a TON of work...and that's using a 'kitchen' someone already made. What you and I want to do is create our own kitchen by stripping a stock rom...and there aren't any guides on how to do that...I'm assuming because that's even MORE work. So basically a (TON of work x MORE work) = Fu%$ that.
If you find a somewhat easy way to do this before I do, post it for us!

The system folder and config.gz from the T-Mobile UK G2 Touch.

-config.gz (as attachment)
Once again has a 10 download limit, would appreciate it if somebody could re-upload.
Cheers,
Phil
uploading it now
EDIT: all done

Even a newer firmware? Nice! Checking the diffs now!
Edit: Just 6 Days newer.. SHouldn't be much changed..
To be fair it's probably just the addition of T-Mobile bookmarks, etc but I thought I'd put it up just in case there's a hidden gem.
Hello Sir,
I tried PM but for some reason I could not send it.
I have HTC Hero with dev watermarked software
HBOOT-1.75.2000
Radio 6.35.04.04
I downloaded T-mobile ROM you posted and I am wondering if I can just try to push the system folder to my device directly or there is something else I need to do as well ? Can I get step-by-step instructions please ?
Also if I put this release is there a chance that my device will get locked to T-Mobile network ?
Many thanx in advance
Hi there,
I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your questions. I followed instructions I was given to pull the system folders from the phones. What I posted wasn't actually a ROM that you can flash but rather a dump of the folder that contains the HTC applications, etc. This can then be used by ROM cooks to add the Sense UI to their custom ROMS.
I can't imagine that you'd be able to push the system folder across as the system folder is read-only on non-rooted devices. If you did somehow manage to push it across I doubt it would solve your problem but it also wouldn't lock your phone to T-Mobile, that goes much deeper than the system folder (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Cheers,
Phil

Hello from Greece,
I have flashed my HTC Desire with SuperNova rom v2.4.0.0 and I noticed that there isn't any boot sound during phone's startup...
But with root explorer I found an mp3 file at path... /data/local with the name "_android_audio.mp3"...
In order to re-enable the boot sound with the original HTC startup sound what can I do...???
Do I must replace this existing file with the original one, although the two files have the same size...???
Or I must flash a signed file containing the sound I want from recovery mode...???
Thank you very much...!!!

Thank you Droidzone for your fast reply...!!!
Sorry that I didn't post to the appropriate thread in xda-forum, that concerns exclusively your excellent rom, but due to I'm a newbie I didn't have the rights to post there...!!!
By the way, I use your rom about two weeks and I'm very happy with its performance...
No lags, very fast and stable, so many apps and games on my Desire for the first time... it's something great.... and the strange is that I use a SanDisk 16GB SD card class 2...
Thank you again for your amazing work and your efforts to this project...
Have dreamy days and Merry Christmas...
Merry X'mas to you too!
Guys, first of all, Droidzone. I am using your Suernova ROM which is perfect except one thing, which is really annoying for me. The ROM turns off by 15% of battery, which makes it quite unconvinient to use. What should I do to make it turn off only by 2%?
(I raised the question here, because I am newbie and not allowed to post to the topic related to Supernova ROM, and I cold not get the answer anyywhere.)

How is this related to the topic title? Incidentally, this has nothing to do with the rom either. Check for battery issues/calibration guides. If it still face issues, open your own thread/post in something similiar to your issue.

Not really. I'm just sick of the same question from people every 5 minutes because they're unable to look lower on the page for an answer. If someone can't spend 3 minutes looking through a forum for an answer, why should I spoon-feed them how to customize their phone (or in this case how to fix their phone after they tried customizing it without proper research beforehand)?

I'm sorry I overreacted. I ask you to accept my apologies. I used the search button (not knowing exactly what was due and I did not find much) but since I had never had, I decided to ask.
As you will notice I have not done a lot of questions and usually I just read and finally to ask here.
Thank you and I apologize.

Actually you have made a good title for your thread and I tried to search using the same title you typed which is "Folder 0". I got some threads talking about this issue such as "[Q] 0 folder inside /sdcard directory" so have a look up there for the answer
With no offence, I'd like to say to you to take it easy next time with other members please and just imagine that you are daily checking this forum and finding the same questions going over and over again so how would you feel? Definitely you will be annoyed somehow
Good Luck and let us know if you run into further troubles but search "a lot" first

thanks you have been very kind. I saw that there are many threads with the same topic. I also read other things and here you can close.
I flashed CWM touch 6.0.1.9, which is suitable for Android 4.2.
Sorry guys if I gave the impression of a stupid and arrogant , but now I understand why Cilraaz was a bit '"rude".
Thanks again for your time.
Legacy & Folder 0
Hello people!
I was reading a lot of info about these folder 0. Now I know why I do have it, but I still have some doubts as my Folder 0 doesn't looks to be a simple copy, but a kind link...
My structure, from root, is such:
/sdcard
/storage
/emulated
/sdcard0 (link)
Inside /storage/emulated I have /0 and /legacy.
Any operation I make will reflect in all that folders, so as I read its not safe to simply copy (as I would copy over...?) and delete. So the final question is, think it´s a kind of link folder, is there a way and is it safe to unlink?
My ROM is Avatar and all works fine, the issue with folder 0 were because it dups all by music folder on PowerAmp. I did saw this with Gallery ie.
Thank you for any help.
