It's in the market, but it lists the Galaxy Nexus as incompatible. Prior reading has shown that this has been an on going issue on many devices (listing it as incompatible when in actuality, it would install fine and work fine). So I was wondering if anybody could post the APK file for the latest one (it's a free app, so I don't think this is against the rules, if it is please close the thread).
If this doesn't work, I was also wondering if anybody could make it compatible?
Please and thank you regardless!
Try Googling the APK. If its unavailable for the nexus to download then most of the people in this forum may not have access to it.
They also probably didn't update it for ICS which is why it probably shows incompatible. And it might be with the ICS drivers.

Funny, I didn't know what this BlueAnt app was until I bought one today and went looking for the App in the "Play Store". Did a google search and this thread popped up that I previously replied too. lol.
Seems to be working fine as far as the app downloaded manually from their website. Using it now, although it seems useless outside of "reading text messages".
But I'm having a problem with Name Announce. I went through a Jawbone which claimed to do it... and used several 3rd party apps to try to make it work, until I gave up and got this. I've synced my phonebook 3 times now but my work number, under "Corporate", but when I call it just says the number.
I use Email for exchange which syncs my work contacts into my gmail contacts. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. I'm going to try to delete the work number and re-create it under my gmail listings and see if that works.
[UPDATE]
Funny that worked. It won't sync my work exchange contacts, thus just reads the number. I would have to manually delete all the exchange contacts and physically add them in under my personal Gmail contacts.
This would work, but part of using the exchange is that it automatically keeps everything up-to-date with new/old employees.
I guess its time to report a bug to BlueAnt. Personal name announce is a step in the right direction at least... and I moved my main corporate number over so at least it covers 90% of my inbound work calls. We work in the field so I do get lots of calls from cellphones, which in this case wouldn't name announce.
Just a heads up for XDA and Google reference.

Hey guys, I've installed the voice search 2.1 apk and it's working fine, but today I decided to see if I could voice dial, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it working. Everything I say simply ends up a google search. If I long press the Search button while on the Home screen to bring up Voice Search, then say, for example, "Call Dad Mobile", all it does is do a Google Web Search for those exact words...I can't get it to actually dial!!
What am I doing wrong??? I also tried, "Open Calendar", and surprise surprise, it did a web search for those words. Nothing is working!!!
When you hold down the magnifying glass and say call someone, and it provides you with a google search, rather than actually calling someone.....
The problem is you have the wrong voice keyboard installed.
You were probably and early adopter of the device and installed the first one you found in a thread on here.
I had the same problem, and deleted the keyboard, installed a later one, and now it works.
Fon22
And where is the later one?
Do you mean Voice Search app or Voice Keyboard? I'm using Jonas' v27 HTC IME mod as my keyboard (created from the online skin generator).
If you mean Voice Search, I'm using Voice Search 2.1 apk, that I got from another website. Should I replace this with the one on the market place?
I'm running Jonas' v27 too, and I think the 2.1 voice APK (didn't install it separately, came with the MCR FroYo ROM). Works a charm for me (though only for some names, such as Adam Green, as most of my contacts have Eastern European names ).
Just tried replacing Voice Search with the one on the market place, and it's still doing exactly the same! I can use it for entering text, but NO voice commands work, it always defaults to doing a web search! What am I doing wrong? I'm running stock rooted 1.21 firmware, no modifications (apart for Jonas' keyboard).
Hmm....I think I may have just figured something out...can someone on here run a test for me? I need someone to check in People and see if their contacts are set to "Google" or "Phone". I have all but one of mine set to "Phone", but it seems that the one I have designated by accident as a Google contact is the only one that voice dialing works with...is this because, for example, Google actually searches your online contacts only, rather than the contacts saved exclusively on your phone?
Also, it still doesn't recognise the "Open" command...can someone also test that out for me?

I wish I could help you.. seems all my contacts are Google contacts. I even made a new one, and he's still a Google contact :/
And I never heard of Open X commands working. Open Mail, Calendar, Messaging all point me to a google search, so it understood what I said.
I have been trying to figure out a way to send an address via sms/mms that will do the following:
appear as an address to the reciever
be a clickable link that will open in google maps allowing the reciever to get directions
Is there a way to do this that I am overlooking?

I was thinking about the same thing a few weeks ago. Hopefully someone knows.

This is actually done automatically based on the recipient's phone. Test it out yourself. Send yourself a text with an address. When you receive it, you'll be able to click it, and your phone will either automatically search it in Google Maps, or it may ask what you want to do with it, such as store it to a contact etc. This is a per-phone feature though. Many of the Nokia's I use to use had similar features. On our phones, it will also do the same for email addresses, web addresses, and phone numbers that it detects.
Now if you're using a custom rom, this may not happen automatically as it is based on which Messaging app the rom is using. I am using TeamFenix, and after just testing it, it did not recognize the full address, only the ZIP code, and therefore tried dialing the 5 digit number. But I think this did work on the stock messaging app.
But SMS/MMS is pretty limited as it is a strict standard. There are no tags etc that can be added that will be interpreted by a phone differently. That is why it is up the the recipient's phone to simply have it built in to recognize different address and phone number types.
very helpful reply. I found a way to attach a map point, but its not very exact in that it will not let me enter where i want the map point to be. I will figure something out, this phone has a lot of features and I am sure this is one of them.
Its funny you mention that. My friend sent me his address this weekend via sms and included a google maps link and it worked flawlessly, was able to "click" it and it launched maps right to his address. Not sure if me manually put the link in the sms or if the phone did it...
Hey guys, I've updated my HTC Trophy to Mango and I've noticed a problem with WLM in Messaging.
In the Messaging under online, it only shows some contacts online, but not every online contact.
and when I go to some contact in the PeopleHub, it says text+chat, but it doesn't show it for everyone I speak to on WLM.
Anyone got a fix for this?
Thanks.
I have noticed this with my FB contacts. Some friends don't show up in the list available on my phone, but it does show them as available in FB chat on my computer.
I have this issue too.
And hope this is just a beta bug, but sometimes when I'm chatting with someone and I turn the screen off and after a while I turn on and go chat with the same person, it shows me that he is offline.
I need to go back to message hub, slide to "online" and wait to load again.
Its a privacy setting they have enabled to allow apps certain permissions. Fb has these and wlm has them each friend. Has to grant access to other apps to use chat and such

I've found that it's just the people I have added recently, all my older contacts seem to work fine.

Maybe.. in your email settings, how often you set to download new content?

Sync manualy once all of your accounts in Settings/email-accounts...
I download new content every 30 minutes and I keep syncing in manually in settings>email+accounts.
I'll be able to chat to people on WLM desktop, but not in Messaging on my phone, they don't appear online.
The problem might be the server that Windows Phone using is not the same as WLM, and some functionality of WLM have not finished yet in the current build of Mango (as it is for dev to testing app). We might have to wait until they release the final build or might be another working update. Right now, even those people from FB, Y!M or Gmail can see you online and they can send you message, but you probably cannot send back to them due to the limit of current build. However, I can confirm that WLM working perfectly. So if you guy has Live id, use it for messenger for now until we have the good build as we can message other services.
Has anyone else noticed that Google Talk behaves quite a bit different on ICS?
In the past, on all my Gingerbread phones 2.3-2.3.7 the chat history would be synced to my phone regardless of where i sent the messages.
For example, if I sent 35 messages on my iPhone and picked up my android 2.3ish device, all the messages I sent would be in the chat log with that person.
Now in ICS on the Galaxy Nexus it does not seem to do that, or does it very inconsistently. Is there something I am missing, or did they try to make it "intelligent" and try to only send messages to the device that you're having a conversation on. If so, thats really disappointing
Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same issue on my Asus Transformer Prime running ICS (4.0.3). I can send a message from the Prime, but it won't show up in the chat history on the Prime. But when I view it on my laptop or phone, it shows up immediately.
Miss History
I miss it very much also... And searching for history either in gmail app or in gtalk does not work.
That is another function I was praising about on my phone that's now removed.
Similar issue
I am having a similar issue. Do not own a Nexus, but a Defy, running ICS / cyanogen 9. The conversations I make on the device doesn't show up on the gmail site. Haven't tested the other way round.
I have noticed this being buggy also. It usually works properly, but there are a few Google Talk messages I sent that were never synchronized to the log on my Google account.
Okay, I've searched extensively both here and on Google, and my powers of finding stuff have failed me. I'm finding a lot of similar requests, but none of them are asking exactly what I need. So, if I have somehow missed this somewhere, I apologize, but after two days of trying various search terms, I'm giving up and just asking.
I just bought the S3, and so far, I seriously love it. I just have one question that I can't seem to fix. The "me" contact pulled in my Google+ profile information, but it didn't pull in my Facebook data (I have the app, and have it syncing, and it works for everyone else) but more importantly to me, it's not syncing with my Google Contact for myself. My name is exactly the same, and the contact file is even linked to the Google+ profile. I even tried going in and making the same email address the default in both listings, but nothing seems to make them merge. The "Join Contact" option doesn't show up at all for the "me" contact, and when I try to join from the google contact listing, it doesn't give me the "me" contact as an option. I don't know if it's something I'm no doing right in the Google+ vs Contacts sync, since they each have a different profile picture and I can't seem to fix that either, but I have no idea if that's the same problem as getting my local profile contact to sync with my google contact, since the local is pulling from the G+ account. Gah. It's by no means a del breaker, it just drives me a little crazy to have duplicate information anywhere, plus, now I have to remember to update my own contact information in two places if I want it to show up for both, which is mildly irritating. Anyone have any ideas?
At the moment, I'm running stock rom, not rooted. I'll get around to rooting eventually, but to be honest I'm waiting to see who gets a working JB rom first, Samsung or Cyanogenmod, since I've had problems getting official samsung updates rooted, even with the stock rom, on other devices in the past. That being said, if the solution to my problem is to root and run a utility, I'm not above doing that either.
the problem is linked to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726677. if you enter your own phone number it should work.

I don't think that's the same problem. My number in the "about device" setting is correct. The phone knows what the number is. This is purely a Samsung TouchWhiz contacts thing - they have a "Me" contact that is stored separately on the phone from your Google contacts. That contact does not sync with Google or any other service, and thus far, I have found no way to merge it with a sync'd contact, or tell it to use a specific contact as "me" rather than create the new listing. I did find that you could link the "me" contact with a Google+ profile, so that's what I finally ended up doing. I deleted myself out of contacts, put the information in my Google+ profile as private, and linked that to "me". I even talked to Samsung tech support about it, and was basically told it was working as intended.

New Year, same Problem
Hi guys,
I know this thread is a little old but I am having this problem now using the Google phone app on Android L / unofficial CM12.
Anyone have a solution for either merging a contact to the "me-account" or just getting the system to recognize the number on my sim? (Settings / About phone / Status / My phone number -> Unknown)
Have a good one
Ok I was having the same issue with my galaxy s5. I fixed it by going into "connections" entering into my Samsung account and editing my profile to include my phone number. G+ now syncs with "my info" without issue
