[Q] Any differences between "AlphaRevX" or "rEVOlutionary" tool? - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I opened this topic for a maybe stupid question that I didn't found answer.
Are there some advantages to use the rEVOlutionary tool instead AlphaRevX beta tool?
Are there some differences?
Could the AlphaRevX bring some bugs on the device?
I unlocked my HTC Wildfire with the "AlphaRevX" beta, the same day when it released and I wondered that if it is better lock the phone and unlocked again with rEVOlutionary.
Thank you very much.
Bye!
! !

Revolutionary will s-off and install clockwork recovery, whereas alpharevx only does s-off.
That's the only difference I know of.

If it is the only difference, it is a good news .
Thanks.

[Q] How to root HTC desire HD ver 2.3.3... ? NEED HELP.. !!

Hii guys..
I am new to this forum.
I need to root my HTC DESIRE HD (gingerbread), with s/w number 2.37.720.3.
But I have learnt from many other sites and other threads in this forum that
Desire HD must be downgraded first.
There are ways to downgrade for s/w number 2.36.XX.X, but couldn't find any for 2.37.
Hope some one kind enough could help me out.
Thanks in advance guys..
Regards,
K.Sagar.
I am afraid you are stuck without root my friend, you cannot temp root 2.37 with gingerbreak and hence downgrade is impossible at present. I guess you will have to wait for HTC to open their bootloaders and then flash a custom rom with root in it.
When HTC will open DHD bootloader... only time will tell.
Thanks for the info dude..
hmm that's not a pleasant news...If I knew that I'd never go for gingerbread update. I do get htc sense error frequently. That's really annoying. so any way I'm positive that the xda pro will come up with solution.
Cheers
Hmm, I reckon someone will figure this out.
Soon, I hope!
Hope you guys at XDA will figure it out... Please find out a solution...
Thank you guys in advance..
Really awaiting a solution..

Not sure what you mean but if you want to DOWNGRADE and root your device just follow these guides and you should be fine:
1. Downgrade

2. Root + Rom installation

As the topic says, is it there any other solution just yet?
Tried the search but couldn't find anything, did something slipped through my research?
Thanks!

I'm also interested in unlocking my wildfire s(3 UK). Any solutions yet?
Thank you!
No, and i think noone will now bother with unlocking wfs since bootloader is unlocked, roms can be flashed... thats what developers wanted...
try htcdev bootunlocker
you can then root your mobile
change rom
and everything
have s-on
stilll i have cwm , cm7.2 and having fun ..
go to htc dev go to bootloader and follow the simple instructions and you will have your device unlocked

i used that search button 100 times but all says if u want to downgrade a carrier branded wildfire but my phone is not carrier branded
moreover making goldcards are for carrier phones (i dont know much about goldcards)
so i want an unbranded downgrade
(if u can come to my home it will be gr8 )
lol..........
I'm pretty sure the hboot isn't branded in any way, only the ROM and possibly the splash screen which you will wipe anyway. Those 2 guides should be fine however usaf's is more recent and if you have any questions you'll most likely get an answer quicker in that one.

[Q] Upgrading HBOOT from 0.95 [SOLVED]

Hi everyone!
I've a question (which must have been already asked several times, but I couldn't find it with the search engine)!
I never gave a **** about my HBOOT on my HTC One X since every ROMS worked just fine, but now I would like to give a try to Insertcoin while waiting for JB version of Viper X so I looked into it.
I saw that my HTC One X has the 0.95 HBOOT S-ON and is SuperCID so here is my question, do I have to use the standart way to update it or do I have to flash an intermediate HBOOT?
Does the 0.95 have any advantages compared to the others (easier to S-OFF in the futur for instance)?
Thanks in advance for the answers guys!

well, i see you are SuperCID... in that case you can upgrade your JBOOT to 1.31/1.33/1.36 without caring of CIDs

Ok, thanks, one last question, I can't seem to find a revelant thread with HBOOT versions, they're all scattered around the forum is there a thread with a real list of those HBOOT with links? (I can only find outdated HBOOTs and I would prefere to upgrade my phone to the latest )
here you go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376 , there's a guide on how to upgrade it...
Wow, thanks! That's what I call being efficient!
I'll give a try tomorrow, thanks again, problem solved!
