i used that search button 100 times but all says if u want to downgrade a carrier branded wildfire but my phone is not carrier branded
moreover making goldcards are for carrier phones (i dont know much about goldcards)
so i want an unbranded downgrade
(if u can come to my home it will be gr8 )
lol..........
I'm pretty sure the hboot isn't branded in any way, only the ROM and possibly the splash screen which you will wipe anyway. Those 2 guides should be fine however usaf's is more recent and if you have any questions you'll most likely get an answer quicker in that one.

Yes, if you do not want to root, you will need to go down the Goldcard method and then flash the HTC Stock Rom
Otherwise, go down the root option (you will still need a Goldcard) and flash any custom rom.
Just do a search for Goldcard in these forums and you will see how to do it, then just find the stock RUU and run it.
Yes.
You can root your Desire and then there are loads of ROMS that you can pick from to put on your phone.
I tried to post a little guide for you but I couldn't post links to other websites so ust google create Goldcard, then go to Modaco and download the generic Desire rom and install
Ok guys thanks for the advise I will trying today creating gold card.
Do I need backup o2 software to memory card?

You can't. If you need to go back to original software you can unroot the device. Details can be found on modaco.

Okay have you saved somewhere or written down the software version that was installed on your device before you installed a custom rom.
For example are you unbranded or Orange, Telus, T-mobile, Vodafone , etc.
and besides.. use the search function.. there's many threads and tutorials about rerooting.
Is there difference from usual DHD?

It's probably just the batch number or something. THere can be used some different materials (like the two diffrent screen brands). But it's just the DHD. NOthing more nothing less.
There are some more version numbers
I dont know

Hi Dr m0x,
how did you enchanced your DHD ?
Dear All DESIRE HD user,
Did anyone of you manage to ROOT your DHD ? z4root doesn't work with DHD !!! ....too bad....please let me know.
We're pretty much all rooted here
Have a look at the pinned threads in the development section for guides. You need to use Visionary, not z4root for DHD.

Try to take a look at this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152233
Hope it helps.
When I was rooting i did stupid act, I had phone on 1.72 version, and before rooting i decided to use official upgrade to 2.36. That act costed me a lot of time and energy to downgrade but I finally managed it. I also had to use GOLDCARD (and I borrowed SD card from my daughters phone, lucky me to have a daughter who was willing to lend me her card) Long story short, just follow instructions, but before, be sure to understand every step you need to take. It would be a problem that you reach 2/3 of a way and than you find out you don't understand step or two, and your phone is turned on half way to rooting. Read instructions few times before start to do things.

actually i dont want to downgrade........is ther any way to root use one click application......like super one click or like that app........please help
You will have to downgrade in order to root. Once downgraded you can then upgrade again.
Now, PLEASE, pretty PLEASE, use the search box, read the dev forum.
Question asked and answered.
thank you guys for your help......now i have downgraded my dhd to 1.32 and rooted it.....but now the question is when i try to update it.....it shows my phone is updated......there is no update found.........so how can i update to 1.84 or higher........
You wait. It's not instant. READ THE FORUMS.
You will of course lose root if you update the ota. Curious to know why you bothered if this was your intention.
You will need radio s-off to avoid having to downgrade again after the update.

Hi Guys,
I have a European (Dutch) HTC Desire Z and I want to get back to stock rom en radio etc. I have my S-OFF my device with "Gfree". Is it safe for me to go back to a stock rom and radio? And does someone know which rom and radio I must use. Hope someone can help, it's NOT the TMOUS version which I own.
The reason why I want to go back to stock is my touch screen is not responding at some points and I need to send it to HTC. Hope someone can help me. Thnx
not sure about dutch version but theres a few guides to go back stock in the dev section. the guides are easy to follow.

also try to recalibrate your screen if u havnt already...it might help
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Guys, thx for the advice.
But with the HTC desire Z screen type you cant do a screen calibration right? If so, could you point me the way how to do this?
The guides on the internet are all for the G2 of T-mobile, so also the rom's are for T-mobile.
Hoping to see more reactions
